  • Hooray!
  • It makes sense to me. When I was 120 pounds I was a size 4, sometimes a 6 and I'm pretty short (5'4"). If you are taller than that, you may be in an even smaller size.
  • I assume you are using an app. I just looked at my overall pace for the duration of the run/walk. If my overall pace was a 12 minute mile, that is 5 miles per hour. I logged it as running or walking at 5mph for 30 minutes. It's just an average, usually. If my pace was 10:22 minute mile, I just average it to 5.5 mph for 30…
  • Good for you for figuring this out while you are still so young! I spent most of my twenties relishing the idea of nearly starving, then working out twice a day. Too much time was wasted on something that was completely unnecessary in order to stay thin/healthy.
  • I don't think that is what she meant. She was referring to her old habit of eating close to nothing that made her use the term anorectic. She lost weight in a very unhealthy way, which many of us have done at one point or another.
  • Outside. I feel better afterwards, being out in the sunshine and all. Also, I work harder because people can see me :) My treadmill is in my basement so it's a little depressing. I find myself watching the clock the entire time.
  • Well, if I were logging it, I would simply figure out how long it took me to finish the mile. If it took, say, 15 minutes that would be a pace of 4mph. So I would log it as walking at 4mph for 15 minutes. Does that make sense?
  • Most people find it very motivating, but I have never had MFP friends. I even have friends in real life who use this site and I don't 'friend' them. The idea of sharing my diet/exercise habits with others terrifies me.
  • Yes! I repeated a couple of weeks when I did c25k. Just didn't feel confident enough to move on. But, I did eventually move on and finish it! Keep at it :)
  • Yeah, I roll my eyes when I see topics like, 'Rate the person above you, only if you can take it' or whatever. Though, I have to remember that there are many people who think stuff like that is fun. Pretty harmless, really. I assume it's harmless anyway, as they don't get taken down :) It's difficult, but I try my best not…
  • I do get a little annoyed when a heated topic gets removed, just because I enjoy reading the comments. I don't lose any sleep over it, though.
  • Actually, I live in a very safe city. My neighborhood, in particular, experiences zero crime. But I have lived in shady neighborhoods in my younger days, so I'm always paranoid. We Americans can be a very antsy bunch :)
  • Guilty! Music keeps my morale up. I do often think of the dangers. Though I lean on the knowledge that my dog would likely go berserk if anyone approached me; causing a huge scene, hopefully :)
  • I am fascinated by this. Mostly because it sounds so fake; yet it appears to be a real letter, written by a 'concerned' American. He even states that the two men were 'bewildered' by his actions. Is he suggesting they were bewildered by his brazen act of fending off their 'assault'? I think it would be safer to say they…
  • Your BF made a good call. Better to accept the umbrella and escape with your life :)
  • Yes. His overreaction was only a little weird. It's that he didn't come to grips with the fact that he DID overreact. He still believes it was some sort of bizarre attack. I googled the story, and I guess the guy is going to write another letter detailing the 'ordeal.'
  • It's not too often that I laugh out loud on these boards :D
  • Yes, I see a lot of posts on here who say the dr. told them not to quit cold turkey. That makes sense. But I take that to mean cutting back until you eventually stop. Not just scaling down to 10 a day for the duration of your pregnancy. I imagine there is an understanding that the goal is to eliminate cigarettes altogether.
  • He really does sound like a ding-dong. Perhaps he is a cop in a really shady neighborhood, which makes him a little paranoid. But I would think, after the fact, he would realize he had overreacted. Not this guy, he's going to write a pointed letter, detailing this heinous situation where two guys talked to him :)
  • You are right. I worded that wrong:P My point was a guy eating a plate of cheese fries doesn't affect his neighbor. Smoking does. It wasn't a very well thought out point.
  • I think that smoking and being overweight are different things. An overweight person isn't a public health issue. Smoking is. Smoking not only affects the smoker, but those around them (especially a gestating infant.) I, personally, wouldn't condone name-calling in either case :) Though it is hard for me not to speak up…
  • Gentle leaders are very helpful. I use one for my dog as well. Sometimes they don't work well for dogs with a shorter muzzle.
  • I know they sell something to clean it. But, you could try running white vinegar through it. It's a cheap solution. Also, if you are on Pinterest, they have tutorials for cleaning your Keurig.
  • That can be a problem. I have a rottweiler mix. There is a Yorkie that is often wandering loose in my neighborhood and my dog is dying to tear his head off. I don't know how that little dog manages to survive :)
  • I don't know. I can commiserate, though. Mine is always doing stupid stuff. Is there buildup in the resevoir? Maybe it needs descaled.
  • By the way, it takes a lot of guts to continue running after being attacked. I tripped and busted my head in the street once, and it took me a few weeks to work up the nerve to run again. I was afraid of assaulting myself :P
  • I used to carry pepper spray. Now I run with my dog. I don't know how much safety she actually provides, but I feel safer.
  • I certainly hope so :)
  • Agreed! I suppose this WOULD be offensive if she were, in fact, fat. She's not.
  • I am the same way! I could drink a gallon of milk a day and still feel as light as a butterfly :) I guess not everyone is that way.
