Sounds great! Count me in.

My scale broke and I refuse to buy another one right now so I'll go by how my favorite jeans fit (or not!). Based on that, I haven't lost ANY weight in the past 10 days. :( Discovering the most delicious GF/DF snack bar last week definitely has NOT helped! Does anyone else depend mostly upon body weight exercises for…

WOW, that's amazing @wishfullthinking79!

Hey @Working2BBetter -- didn't know you were here! I'm aiming for a pound per week to get rid of this weight I suddenly packed on in the past 12 months. Currently: 140 GW May 30: 136

DITTO! Skin cancer is ugly no matter what the underlying skin color is.

Maybe it's because I have worked mainly in places with very few, if any, women, but yes, in my experience women are extremely catty about any other woman who is better looking or seems more intelligent than them. In addition to the hormonal influence someone else mentioned, it is probably also due to the fact that in the…

^^ This ^^ Forgiveness may be granted, but forgetting doesn't happen. Also, condoms (if one was even used!) do NOT protect against HIV, herpes, HPV, warts and various other sexually transmitted infections that can be passed on to your partner (and then to you) from just one single encounter. And you'll have those for life…

The basic reason is this: when a person is unconscious, the doctor can insert the scope more quickly all the way to the other end of the colon. Jiggling through the curves and a potentially tight twist without a conscious patient saying, "Hey, slow down a bit - that actually hurts" to warn the doctor of high pressure,…

I had mine earlier this week, also DRUG FREE. :drinker: Although I was nervous, and it is weird as all get out, it was not at all painful. I, too, have had menstrual cramps and even gas pains that were FAR worse than the colonoscopy. The risk of infection, perforation, memory loss, and other potential complications from…

I'm having my first one on Tuesday. Been having some GI issues and just recently found out that I have a long family history of early (age-wise) colon cancer, on both sides!! I sure wish I had known that YEARS ago as I would have scheduled this unpleasantness a few years ago.

Oooh, love this list, too! Thanks for a good laugh!

Just wanted a chance to post the eye candy again!!

^^^ This. ^^^ If someone has allergies / intolerances and they are liked enough to be invited to the wedding, then darn tootin' their dietary needs should also be met! I do distinguish between needs and wants. I have catered at weddings where a vast assortment of allergies / intolerances and dietary restrictions were…

Add in tree NUTS and AVOCADOES. They're very healthy -- packed with calories as well as nutritional content, healthy fats and protein (in the nuts). No sodium, no sugar. There's no prep, other than cutting open the avocado and adding lemon juice, if desired, and no dirty dishes to clean. Grab and go food at its best!

I love LOVE LOVE snow!!! Ice not so much (though ice-covered trees are beautiful), but bring on the snow!!! The more, the better!

^^^THIS^^^ It depends on 1) starting percentage body fat, i.e. Muscle vs. Fat, 2) what is being done, i.e. simple calorie restriction or gaining muscle while also losing fat, and 3) body shape

That's a great line!!! LOVE this!!!

From a rather talented artist (who was married!!!): "Could I please PLEASE draw you - nude? With you as my model, your picture would grace the cover of every top art magazine in the world!" If it hadn't been so completely over the top, I almost would have fallen for it!

Congrats on your weight loss and your new life with more energy and movement! I'm a clean freak, but not a minimalist. That said, there are more important things to me than spending all my time cleaning. My motto is this: DO IT WELL & DO IT FAST *** BEST how-to book: Speed Cleaning (by Jeff Campbell and the Clean Team).…

Exactly my thoughts! Mmmmmm, just thinking about an enormous Snickers bar (minus the nougat).... Edited to add: a regular Snickers bar is 3 oz. so a 16-oz bar would really only serve 5 people, not 9 as suggested by the package. Also, while it IS big, unless the two guys are actually trying to lose weight or have asked not…

I use ghee when I want a stronger butter flavor in something savory, or occasionally in baked goods, particularly a pie crust. I can't eat butter and since I detest bacon (I hear this makes me a freak) and most animal meat-fats, I use coconut oil for most other uses, especially high-heat searing and most baking. I have…

Yep. I usually eat a ton of almonds and have had to actually sit down and plan alternatives. I am definitely eating more veggies, so YAY!!

Since I have to be gluten free and dairy free (except ghee) all the time, my regular eating habits aren't too drastically different from paleo, though this is WAY more meat than I usually eat. So my weird craving is WATER! I'm thirsty all the time. I don't cook with salt. Whenever I consume lots of meat, I find myself…

You could just make the ___ soups as well and use coconut cream (or forget the soups and toss in some sauteed mushrooms and extra chicken with some coconut cream) -- AND omit the tortillas -- so it would be Whole 30 compliant...

Congrats on finding such an amazing CSA! We need more of those around! I have a friend who raises (mostly) pastured chickens and lamb. I have helped "process" the chickens. Ugh, not something I enjoy AT ALL, but it must be done and at least this way I know that it's quick for the bird. They don't process their own lambs,…
