  • Hello. Nice to meet you. I'm starting today and I'm doing it for my health.
  • That is true, if you are hungry eat. Just don't eat hoho's and twinkies. If you know your body needs fuel give it.
  • I agree with not eating back the calories. I am way over anyway I would just like to be under to begin with. 1600 calories is not starving. As far as the giving up smoking find something else to do besides food. It's hard to let go of the food habit let alone do smoking on top of that. Take up knitting or something.…
  • My advice: Look at your past to learn from the mistakes you made not beat yourself. Then look forward with that knowledge and don't look back again. It only serves the purpose to beat yourself up. I've lost a million pounds in my life time. This time is it. I found that my failure was always giving up or losing my focus.…
  • I'm in. I'm going to see some old high school friends May 30. I'm motivated.

  • I had 3/4 of a can of coke today but it was an emergency. So I don't consider it a failure, other than that I've been perfect. I usually have wine in the evening and I have never noticed that it was a habit that is really unnecessary. The first night I couldn't sleep, but I just think I was obsessing. I have this ritual of…
  • Thank you Tony, I never heard it explained that way. It makes sense the way you put it. I am doing intervals walking and yesterday I did them on the elliptical machine. I feel stronger and I'm hoping by Monday (my weigh day) I will have lost a pound or too. I've been stagnant. I don't have a diet plan I just watch my…

  • I do long distance walking because I have time. I do 2-3 long distance walks a week and 2-3 one hour walks a week. I also do the elliptical machine and I'm starting with intervals.
  • I don't have cheat days. I try not to beat myself if I don't have a perfect calorie day. On those days where something has "happened" they've been about 500-1000 calories over. Usual due to liquid calories which are easy to gulp down.

  • I am in and committed. I am pretty good with the no added sugar do you mean no sweets too? Or are we talking not physically adding sugar to anything. Either way will work and I will let the wine go for the month. Yay!
