  • 5'6" and I've been maintaining between 143 and 147 since December 2010. My original goal was 150.
  • Are you logging all your food, including BLT's (bites, licks, tastes)? I weigh every morning, log all my food, weigh and/or measure all my food when at home and when I was losing, I treated this as the most serious diet of my life. Nothing sweet passed my lips, no bread, rice or pasta. Other than head hunger, I was never…
  • Gas X and Pepcid AC
  • I'm caffeine free, as of this past Wed. I feel great and am sleeping better. I stopped per my doctor's orders, new neurologist about my migraines. I tapered off and withdrawal is REAL. It took two weeks but worth it, I think. I have dropped three pounds but nothing has changed. I am drinking decaf, I use stevia and 1% or…
  • By now, you should be on the loser's bench. Would I do it again, YES, unequivocally, in a heartbeat, in a New York minute!!!! I love my sleeve, I never had buyer's remorse. I had surgery almost 4.5 years ago, reached goal in just under six months and have been successfully maintaining since then. It is life altering, you…
  • Welcome to the loser's bench!! I'd guess that most of use have this problem, if not ALL the time, at least from time to time. I've been battling constipation starting right off the bat. It's been almost 4.5 years now! I tried everything and a couple of years ago my doctor said that Miralax was fine to take DAILY. I didn't…
  • You should be post op by now!!! I hope you're doing great!!! Now is your honeymoon period, take full advantage of it and hold on, it's a wild ride, but oh so fun!!! Enjoy every single pound and change. You won't believe your life a year from now. This is truly life altering. Now is the time to make permanent changes. I am…
  • collar bones here......still my very favorite NSV!!!!!!
  • This is NOT a problem, this is wonderful, pray that it lasts forever!! I ate because I must for the first 12 -18 months, still now, it's social and I have to eat. Hunger has returned, first it was an empty feeling but now, I do feel hunger sometimes, but NOTHING like prior to surgery. I am almost four years out (June 11th)…
  • Subway does not have to be unhealthy, and as 'bad as McDonalds' - no way!! LOL A few tips: No cheese (it does not affect the taste at all really, just calories) Use mustard, not dressing, mayo or oil There is a healthier menu and it's marked. Ham, turkey and even roast beef. I think the flatbread may be fewer calories.…
  • I do not trust MFP, I have a Fitbit, but I do not count exercise at all, I don't want MFP "adding" or "giving" me additional calories. I do not do anything so that I can eat more and feel better about it!!!
  • I am 5'6" - BMI was 36.8. I've lost between 83 and 86 lbs, depending on the day. I was very rigid while I was in the losing stage. I lost 23 lbs pre-op and I reached MY goal in six months. I reached my doctor's goal in five. On June 11, I'll be four years out. I've been maintaining since Dec 2010. Best decision ever, I…
  • I'm so sorry! Chocolate is not your friend, count yourself lucky that you're having a bad reaction, it may serve as a deterrent for a while!!! Don't sabotage yourself, this is your honeymoon period, you aren't even totally healed, be careful and make wise choices. Good luck!!! stacy
  • I've been maintaining for almost 3 years. I weigh every morning, have been since just prior to surgery and will weigh every day from now on. The only time I don't weigh is if we're traveling and I don't have a scale. I do NOT log my weight daily on MFP just because I am 142 - 144 every morning. The last time I changed it…
  • I have Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter AND Pb2. I really don't eat it too often but when I do, I like it on a LF Graham Cracker. 1 TB of the Smucker's is 100 calories. That is too much for me and not enough protein. The Pb2 is good on a graham cracker, so that is usually what I choose. It's all about choices. :)
  • Sorry it took so long to respond, I just saw your post. I still do not drink when I eat and wait for 30 minutes afterwards to drink anything. I log all my food on line, and track my calories and protein. My doctor doesn't worry about carbs unless a patient isn't losing, that was never a problem with me. I do not experience…
  • We are talking about 3 pounds, right?!!!! I have my comfort zone, 142 - 146. If I get up to 146.5 I know I need to cut back by 100 - 200 calories. In less than a week, I'm back into my comfort zone. I've never bought the 'up your calories' to lose weight. I yo yo'd for 30 years, upping my calories resulted in one thing,…
  • Isn't enough for what? You're doing great. I have NEVER wanted "planned" exercise to be part of my weight loss. I know me, I know how quickly I can lose focus, get bored. I wanted LIFESTYLE changes I could live with forever. I do NO exercising, I haven't stepped in a gym for ten years and I will not. I park way out in…
  • Surgery was three years ago on June 11th. I never had a stall, but the entire time I was losing, it was the up one or two, down one or two. Up and down, it was just the way I lost!
  • A 'sleeve' board! Good morning y'all - isn't it great to be a "loser"???!!!!! I'm Stacy, I am a 'veteran' I guess. I had surgery on June 11, 2010 - I love it and would have surgery again in a heartbeat!!! I'm been maintaining for over 2.5 years. What are your stories??!!!
  • My doctor doesn't worry about carbs unless he has a patient that isn't losing. It's never been an issue with me, I couldn't begin to GUESS what my carb intake is because I've never worried about it. I know some do though.
  • 2 oz at four weeks out is probably too much, the symptoms would indicate that is the problem. At four, five, six weeks....I could eat 1/8 cup of whatever, it gradually increased, but at over 3 years out, I still cannot eat a full cup of food, which is good, my doctor doesn't want his patients EVER eating more than a cup at…
  • We DO have a honeymoon period, every doctor says a different thing....anywhere from six - 18 months. I took this as the gospel and treated my surgery as the most important diet of my life.....my last ditch effort. I had ups and downs, up a lb or two, then down....some times did this for up to ten days, but it was fine,…
  • I'd have to ask 'What is not healthy?' Let them speak and then ask them to cite their source. They've been removing tummy's for decades for stomach cancer and ulcers. I have a relative that due to ulcers had quite a bit of her stomach removed over 30 years ago. I have no idea what they called it back then, maybe a life…
  • Surgery was June 11, 2010 - life is good. This is a FOREVER commitment, there is no end date. Make lifestyle changes you can live with/do for the rest of your life. It is not difficult, it is not hard, just some new habits. What I do now, is a natural to me as breathing. I have been maintaining for over two years, finally,…
  • You can do it......if you haven't already, get back on track, do what you know you must do. I preach this to anyone who is PRETENDING to listen  - make these things part of your life, new habits, where if you do NOT do them, you feel it, something is missing. Make logging, measuring/weighing food, weighing yourself…
  • I am certain you can get back on track. Make yourself a priority!!
  • My three year anniversary was June 11, 2013. Other than if I eat too much (I try and always under eat my sleeve) I can eat anything. Pasta and rice are the two I must be careful with, it is like it expands after eating it. Almost everything you listed, other than beef, and one or two other things, you should not be eating…
