  • It takes me about 2 stone (28lbs) to go down a size
  • I chose sedentary and add any walking over 5000 steps. I always have my phone on me and it tracks my steps. When I'm at work I am on my feet, walking for 7hrs without my phone so chose 'lightly active'.
  • I have had friends say a few times "Nooo, you're not going for a healthy thing are you?! I was going to get ....". I just laugh and say I'm not stopping you! I just am really in the mood for..salad or whatever. They get over it and I feel empowered. I know what you mean about choices though. My husband is very supportive,…
  • You can't target where to loose fat but for toning, after sit ups you can lie or your stomach, legs together and straight, lift your legs and hold, repeat in reps. You can also add in chest lifts with it too, keep your hands under your chin.
  • If you moisturise your skin and excersize your muscle while you lose it works well. I have been lucky everytime I've lost before, hopefully this isn't one yo-yo too far.
  • I had diabetes in pregnancy so considered as 'prediabetic'. I always think I should go low carb but in reality any attempt at all leaves me feeling very hungry. I now try to make 'better' carb choices like wholemeal but I do still eat carbs in my calories. Hopefully losing weight will in turn help me fend off diabetes so I…
  • How many calories do you have? Can you maybe have some vegetable soup or something before you leave? Enough too fill you up but not many calories.
  • Are we talking Krispy Kreme or Greggs? It would sway my decision. I would rather just stick to my usual banana and save the calorie deficit for wine in all honesty...
  • I was adviced to only eat unprocessed potatoes and eat wholemeal alternatives when possible. They have more fibre and their energy is realised more slowly so doesn't spike your sugars as much. Doesn't mean 100cals of one is any different, just better for your health and also keeps you fuller so you are less hungry. I get…
  • What about getting a serong (not sure if I spelt that right) and you can take it off just before you jump in. Leave a towel at the side for your way out. I swim all the time, there's always someone worse off!
  • I try not to eat too may white carbs and high sugar things because I was told my fasting sugars were high in pregnancy which indicates prediabetes but hopefully losing weight will help. Apart from that I try eat a variety of all foods.
  • I eat 3 meals a day and snack if I'm still hungry/want a treat lol. I'm on just under 1700 but sometimes eat my excersize calories back. I excersize most weekdays and walk at weekends. The thing with eating lots of small meals is I never get that "I'm so full" feeling which I do enjoy. Maybe not the best for me. I don't…
  • If you KNOW you've done everything right keep at it for another week and it might show a double loss. This has happened to me before, it's really disheartening but if you have done MFP correctly then it will hopefully just be water and not fat. The loss should show eventually.
  • My husband got spice chicken pizza takeaway tonight so I got a baked potato with spicy chicken and cheese. Same flavours, less cals. Some pizza places do under 500cal pizzas.
  • It was a chilli recipe I was trying to make, I scanned all the items in (all found) but when I pressed the tick to confirm it said item not found and didn't add then to the list. It did add some so think it was a fault.
  • You can create a 'recipe' in theory although I tried it the other day and every time I went to confirm the ingredient it said item not found so gave up. To track a accurately you'd need to include all the ingredients...I just search 'side salad' or 'large salad' and pick one I think would be close to what I'm having. I do…
  • I had beef chilli in wraps with salad
  • I prefer Häagen daz (cheese cake) but will go for Ben and Jerrys (cookie dough) if it's on offer.
  • I hate milk and no way could I follow a slim fast diet. Why not just do MFP with a calorie deficit?

  • I added you so you can see my diary  is yours open? My food varies but typically Breakfast : Banana and yoghurt Lunch : soup and Sandwich/baked potato/salad Dinner : chilli/curry/pasta/wraps Snacks: olives/oatcake and cheese spread At the weekend I sometimes have wine.
  • It's just different challenges. I always thought if I didn't work I would be sooo slim as I would have the energy to go to the gym everyday. When I work im on my feet all day and there is plenty of freshly made healthy food available. I'm on maternity leave now after losing my baby at 1 month so trying to focus on losing…
  • When you set your running pace on the tredmill how many mph do you do? I have just started and been using 5.5mph for walking and 7.5 for 'running'. I hope to complete it and then build up to 10mph. Only done my first day though. Well done for completing it...hope I manage it, seems a million miles away.
  • I had my daughter in March. I did get sick from some foods like baked beans, Kiev...generally I tried to eat as healthy as possible. I tried to stick to my calories but I went way over sometimes as my heartburn cured quite nicely when I ate...and I also craved ice cream! I think by the end of the pregnancy I lost fat from…
  • Oatcakes are filling :)
  • Are you ONLY consuming water 3 days a week? I did the 5:2 fast diet but on the 2 fast days I still ate 500cals plus 2 fruit and 100cal yoghurt/milk. I don't know anything about the keto diet but it does sound like you need to eat a variety of foods to increase your vitamins. Incidentally I can sympathise with your hair…
  • Congratulations so far. I notice your diary is empty. A good place to start is logging.
  • It's all balance, I don't eat any 'new' foods just because I'm trying to lose weight. I certainly wouldn't eat something I didn't like. I like healthy foods but I also like high cal foods so it's just about balance. When I'm watching my calories I tend to eat things in proportion to my daily calorie target that will keep…
  • If you try keep toning your muscles while losing it can help a lot.
  • Not always a great plan...might end up married one day and it'll spiral! I know this...
  • Meal plan. I find if I've planned exactly what I'm eating the next day/week I am less likely to 'lose' it and think I can work it in, then can't and think I've gone over anyway so what's the point...next thing I know I've not tracked for days. Doesn't mean plans don't change but it is more manageable.
