Feel free to check out my diary for so far today, just for fun I compared my (meat free) breakfast to the exact same one with meat. As a vegetarian I've never had an issue getting enough protein :)

Why do you weigh in stone and oz and not stone and lbs? 14lbs to 1 stone 21 stone = 294lbs (14x21) 20st = 280lbs If you are weighing in oz then 11 oz -> lbs is 0.69lbs = 280.69lbs = 13.31lbs lost If you are weighing in stone and lbs then... 280lbs + 11lbs = 291lbs = 3lbs lost Long and short....are you really weighing in,…

Running - specially doing C25k allowed me to come off of beta blockers New Rules of Lifting for Women - made me stronger Stronglifts 5*5 - is making me stronger still All of the above - given me my life and confidence back (as well as of course helping me to drop body fat)

I have PCOS and have lost all my weight so far by eating 200g+ carbs a day. Carb restriction can be helpful if you have Insulin Resistance but personally I don't think other than that it's necessary to weight loss.

I've been doing tdee since sunday or monday. before then I was doing 1400/day. Maybe I'm just being too impatient. [/quote] That'll be it. You need to give it at least a month of trying something new before you can say its not working

How long have you been doing TDEE -20% ? I have PCOS and Grave's (thyroid disease) and so far I've not had a problem dropping weight because of those illnesses.

I regret not eating chocolate pop tarts today.

I have a food intolerance to citrus fruit so the only 'colon cleanser' I need is a glass of orange juice. No idea what exactly a 'colon cleanse' is supposed to accomplish though

You think wrong

I get at least 30% protein a day and I'm vegetarian. I'd quite like to keep my muscles whilst I drop body fat (weight). Unless you have some kind of underlying kidney disease you won't over work your kidneys by eating 30-40% protein (that is unless you are eating like 6000 calories a day (my maths is rubbish - but am sure…

I started out wanting to lose 4 1/2 stone but as time has gone on I go more on my inches/clothes size. I also wanted to hit my goal within 6 months. But on March 1st it will be my one year anniversary of the start of my journey. I'm more than happy with the amount that I've lost so far and when I look back I can't believe…

No they don't have them :frown: The actual weight room is pretty small compared to the rest of the gym (weight machines and cardio stuff) :frown:

Mine seems to work better (not saying 00) when I am a bit sweaty. When I first put it on and its dry it tends to just say 00, wet it on the net mesh like parts on the chest strap and it should sync ok

Nope, I wear mine swimming sometimes

Don't know if its been said yet but MFP uses Miffin-St Jeor equations to work out your BMR (Copy and pasted from here...http://www.myfitnesspal.com/tools/bmr-calculator) Our calculator uses the Mifflin-St. Jeor equations to estimate your BMR which is believed to be more accurate than the more commonly used Harris-Benedict…

Just wanted to quickly add that if you are doing the 'TDEE -%' method then don't eat back your added Fitbit calories

I was a spoon/pear shape but thanks to weight lifting I'm more of an hourglass now. Just need to get rid of the giant PCOS tummy

One week is'nt long enough in order to gauge the effectiveness of a calorie change. You need to do it for a month really and try to avoid the scale apart from maybe once a week. (And 1788 sounds about right  The 2235 is your maintenance number, so anything under that is a calorific deficit for you)

^ Que?! I'm 30yrs old and the same height as the OP. My TDEE -20% gives me 1700. 1350 with working out is low, especially as she only has a few lbs to lose. And no. You cannot gain muscle on a calorific deficit. N00b gains will only get you so far and after a month they will go. In truth, you are getting stronger and…
