Confused on amount lost

Options
Please help I am abit confused on how much I have lost this week.

I weigh in stones and oz last week I weighed in at 21 stone which according to the on line stone to pounds conversion is 294lb

this week I weighed in at 20s 11lb which is tell me is 281.54 ?
Now from 21.0 to 20.11 is 3lb loss but it saying around 12lb which I know is not right.
Anyone have any ideas what is happening here.

You need to weigh in Stones and Pounds. If you put 11oz, that is just under a pound. That might be where it is going wrong.

Ounces are not really much use for weighing humans, they are too small.
There are 16oz in 1lb and there are 14lb in a stone

    So you lost 3lb.

    Well done :)

Just wanted to check that you mean stone and ounces that you weighed in and not stone and pounds?

    There are 16oz in 1lb.

So if you weighed 21 stone, this is correct at 294lb (14lb in 1 stone)

20 stone = 280lb and 11oz would be about 0.7lb making you around the 281lb mark.

    Hope that helps?!

Why do you weigh in stone and oz and not stone and lbs?

    14lbs to 1 stone
    21 stone = 294lbs (14x21)

    20st = 280lbs
If you are weighing in oz then 11 oz -> lbs is 0.69lbs
    = 280.69lbs
    = 13.31lbs lost

If you are weighing in stone and lbs then...
    280lbs + 11lbs = 291lbs
    = 3lbs lost

Long and short....are you really weighing in, in stone and ounces or (the more likely) stone and lbs?

You can usually adjust digital scales between Stone, Pounds and KG. It might be worth changing yours if you are going to use converters.

Personally I use KG because with 1KG = 2.2lb, it always feels like more of an acheivement to me to lose a KG rather than a LB.

With the added bonus of a lot of people in the UK still not being up on the KG to Stone conversions so telling someone I weighed 115KG sounded better than 253lb or 18stone, 1lb

    14lbs to a stone.

    21 x 14 = 294lbs

    20stone 11lbs = 291lbs

    You now weigh 291lbs

the problem with many converters is that they use decimals. lbs and stone don't work in decimals....

to get lbs lost, multiply your STONE figure by 14. Add the remainder. so 20 st x 14 = 281. Add 11(lbs) gets you 291.

    You have lost 3lbs.
