I've just come across the Insanity workout today and I'm debating giving it ago. Do you need at least a basic level of fitness first? I've not even made it to Level 3 of Shred yet so not sure whether I should get myself a little fitter before thinking about doing this?

I'm in recovery at the moment. Don't know if I will ever be able to say I'm recovered but I'm definitely on a good path now

I weigh in on a Friday so generally that is my "cheat day" however like someone else mentioned, it's a lifestyle change. I find that being good all through the week and having a bit of something naughty at the weekend is really working for me. My issue before is that every day was a cheat day!

tip is to eat before you go out if you can. Crudites are a good way of keeping you occupied and try and keep the pastry based ones to a minimum.

it depends entirely on your lifestyle. If you go to bed at say, 8pm, then yes it is as your body is relaxing and shutting down ready for sleep so will not be burning calories as a raised rate (you still burn calories even when you're asleep. If you don't go to bed until 2am then it won't have a massive effect.

Thanks guys, it's definitely something to bear in mind that I will be able to have more calories when I'm maintaining. I'm hoping to be at goal by the end of the year - does anyone think that's unrealistic?
