I really need some help getting back on the BBG wagon. I did it last year and the results after round 1 were great. But now that I've fallen out of my routine, I literally feel like I don't have the energy for it! :( HALP

Hiya! I am a runner - I'm training for a half in May and a 10K in Sept. I want to work on getting faster.

If you're overweight, I would just grab a cup of coffee to get a little energized to get to the gym.

@prettywingss04 You should start at the very first post. * You can not spot reduce - meaning if your stomach/abs/middle is protruding because of fat there, you would have to lose overall fat on your body because your body doesn't discriminate. It just burns the nearest fat cell. Blame your mom for the distribution of fat…

@krumpli Thanks so much for this - my sister was on SNAP (food stamps) for her Americorps year also. She definitely had to get creative when buying groceries in Brooklyn NY. I used to work at Pathmark so I'm familiar with SNAP, WIC and TANF There's different kinds of assistance: SNAP - food stamps. You can only buy food,…

Most of the food waste wasn't on the individual level but on the corporate level. ie, supermarkets throwing out 100lbs of hummus to make shelf space for new items.
-
That's so awesome! I'm starting pre-training today! Add me! it would be great to encourage via insta too!

I think it depends - they just had an overhaul that they still have not finished - it links with everything I need Strava, smashrun, mfp, daily mile. I like my FR15 but I kind of wish I had a "prettier" watch.

Your body's probably mad at you for trying to kill it. It's doing all this work for you and you're not fueling it. It sounds like you're a smart cookie and your method has gotten you this far but don't be afraid that if you eat, you'll lose your gains (towards weight loss). It also sounds like you've convinced yourself…

bring a bagel. I think it's filling and has carbs to fuel your hike. With nits/seeds/trailmix, psychologically it makes me feel like i haven't eaten anything substantial bc a handful of nuts is the same amount as a bagel - around 200cals

I did this for a whole month and I still haven't figured it out - the food just doesn't "keep". Especially the veggies. Every week i tried a new way of doing it. What I figured out was I need to keep the veggies (sauteed spinach, kale, etc) in an entirely different bowl and add it in that morning. I see that's not the case…

I wish I was an endurance runner - I run about 20+ miles/week and I leave my macros the same as the MFP setting but I just eat more carbs on my long run days. The off run days, I pack in the protein with dairy (greek yogurt, choco milk, string cheese) But this doesn't work for everyone. Would love to hear other thoughts

I don't know how to answer your question but you look great!

My BF% has increased 1% in the last week! I'm atrophying! @LorraineZinn RE inaccuracies - though the scales are telling you the incorrect BF%, shouldn't the trend observed be correct? If you use the same scale all the time, you should be comparing apples to apples.

I'm also training for a 10K using the link that @kristinegift posted. Feel free to hit me up - this is also my first time.
-
@glevinso @loratliff I think I'm in the same boat. I forgot to put my mileage - I do about 3-5 miles, 4x a weekday and longer run on Saturday morning (6-8 mi). I only really feel soreness after the longer runs. I think I may have spoken too soon because the last run I had my first pains! The muscles on the inside of the…

I do it at home - I still haven't found a substitute for the step-ups. I think using a chair on the second floor is quite annoying bc I have cheap furniture and is super wobbly. I was thinking of using my front stoop? I think buying a bench might be a bit much, no? There were bosu balls on sale at my local Target for $80…

@AlineJames Are you doing the first guide? I'm training for a 10K but I want my abs on fleek for a bachlorette party! I started yesterday with Week 1!

I usually feel (very) sore after other workouts like weights and basketball which is why I was wondering. Ahh, maybe I'm not running far enough. I've never run 8 miles before, ever. I run until I hear a certain song and I turn around and go back home. According to my training plan, I'm not due to do so for another 2 weeks.…

@akirkman86 Thanks for the reply. I hope we get our questions answered!

My sister is going through the same thing. She's a nurse and just didn't feel hungry. Eat more nutrient dense foods - throw an avocado on everything. My sister is allergic to a lot of things which doesn't help either. But keep nuts around like cashews and raisins and almonds. Make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich but put…

My sister did it, she loved it because the recipes are delicious. I don't know if eating real food is restrictive dieting but I think I get what you mean bc it restricts some food groups. I think you can slowly add them back in to see how your body feels.

Lose the weight slowly to give your skin time. Depending on how old you are and if you hold a lot of fat in your breasts, there should be hope
-
Plié squats and curtsy lunges. +1 above - no to spot reduction
-
You can't replace fat with muscle. When you lose fat, it shrinks your fat cells (you must have a lot in your butt, genetically) and your muscles get bigger. Not exactly replacement
-
Absolutely fabulous. I hope you're proud of yourself
-
I choose a healthy lifestyle because it makes me proud of myself which gives me confidence. That's it. Everything else is just toppings.
-
There's a website- PopSugar fitness. They have core routines to strengthen.

Saving this for when I finish training for my 10k

I have the fr15. To start Most activity trackers are going to be off by 10-20% so get comfortable with this. The smaller the number of steps, the greater inaccuracy. I would advise you compare after a full day. ( not sure if you did this already) For some reason, my watch tracks steps when I'm driving and on the subway.…
