  • I love New Rules of Lifting for Women, it's a progressive weight lifting program. If you don't know what the exercise is, just youtube it. I print off pictures of the exercise just in case I forget. Also there's great beginner programs at bodybuilding.com or on pinterest. Going to the gym without a plan of action can be…
  • I eat supper before I go to the gym, and then have a post workout snack when I get home. As long as my macros are right, it doesn't matter to me when I eat. The problem I have is burping up supper however, especially doing core exercises.
  • I did use a YouTube video by the brand of k-tape I have. .and my fiance put it on because I can't reach. It didn't really help lifting tonight, but I used the "general" taping method. Monday I will use the "rotator cuff" method to see how that goes. I'm not overly optimistic about the tape, but my shoulder hurts like hell…
  • I love tuna melts, in fact I'm having a tuna sandwich for lunch today. It's quick, healthy and tasty.
  • it's called the Halo Effect in psychology.
  • I love Pinterest...the health and fitness board has great ideas. I also do New Rules of Lifting for Women, it's more exciting then sitting on the elliptical lol.
  • I log everything but spices...I can't be arsed to figure out how much a tsp of parsley is worth. I also log everything first thing in the morning so I know what I can and can't do throughout the day, or if I have to go for a walk on my "off" days. I don't log tea because I never put anything in it, and I don't log the…
  • and don't forget various forms of lunges!
  • 1 package of stove top stuffing, mix with salsa, put on top of seasoned chicken breasts and bake until cooked. Tada Bruchetta Chicken
  • I'd like to see it too please
  • my 13 year old son lifts with me, I just make sure that he isn't lifting as heavy as I am. I also make sure he understands nutritional value and the importants of drinking lots of water. He loves the squats, lunges and body weight exercises that I do, but he also loves to deadlift. He doesn't lift as heavy as I do, and I…
  • Thankfully I can't eat dairy, so it limits my food choices (because come on, who doesn't make appies with loads of cheese). But honestly I don't think about it when I go to a party, because there's usually booze involved. I just make sure I am awesome before and after the party
  • I use New Rules of Lifting for Women and I love it (YouTube videos of the exercises if you don't know what they are)...also bodybuilding.com is a great resource. Just google and read a lot! My favorite people are Alan Argon, James Fell and Omar Isuf if you want nutritional, science based information.
  • Those that keep saying "as long as it fits my goals" yeah..that's the point of the substitutes. I'd rather an entire bowl of popcorn over 5 chips, because who eats 5 chips? The point the OP is making, is if you still crave the crunch, here's some alternatives to chips.
  • I struggle with this and I do have a protein shake. Problem I'm having is I can't eat any form of dairy. I recommend almond milk though, that's pretty high. Boiled eggs, almonds, and peanut butter are my go-to
  • When my jeep is full of gas, and my cupboards and fridge are full of food :)
  • I lost 30lbs...gained it all back plus another 10. I finally weighed myself this morning after being in denial. Thank you for posting this thread! I am currently on Pinterest trying to find some yummy and healthy food, and I've already planned to join my old gym.
  • when I know I'm going to be involved with anything that's going to cause allergies, I carry clariton with me. Working out, yard work, day drinking on the patio, hiking, sitting on the football field watching the boy child. Just to be prepared. Where I live, cotton flies around in the air, and it's terrible so I have a box…
  • I call it my "skin disease"...happens when I sweat. I get super itchy on my chest and back, sometimes the hives sneak up my neck. I also take a Clariton or something non-drowsy, and make sure you have a shower after you sweat to wash it off. My doctor told me that people release histamines when they sweat, and I'm having…
  • Just got my Shambhala tickets in the mail Saturday ;)
  • omg this sounds exactly like my kid OP...I am at wits end about what to do. He also has brain damage (Oppositional defiant disorder paired with high anxiety issues)...he has convinced himself that his BMX is going to kill him despite the fact that he's been riding it since he was 5, he refuses to do yard work and will…
  • I just pull out the meat to thaw before I go to work, and then figure it out and log it during the day so I can see how my macros look. I usually have veggies and a starch to go with it. My breakfast is high protein, lunch is low calories, and then I figure out what I want for supper. If I have to boost my calories, or I…
  • I loath cardio too, but I suck it up and do it 15 minutes before and after I lift...and I've really enjoyed hiking through the river valley lately. If you can borrow someone's dog, it always makes it more fun
  • I use bodybuidling.com (don't be scared, they have beginner programs) or here's my "beginner workout"... I go three times a week: Workout A : 3 sets of 10 (start with no weights and work your way up) Squats Bench Press Rows Tricep Press Downs Calf Raises Planks or crunches Workout B : 3 Sets of 10 (start with no weights…
  • have you measured yourself lately? I bet your body is changing, muscles is a heavy thing. What about your pants, do you notice they fit differently?
  • if you log it under weightlifting in MFP, it will still underestimate due to the fact that you're still burning. It's a really low number, but it gives me a reason to have a square of chocolate lol
  • You got to work with what you have...I have thick thighs too and an *kitten* that makes Kim Kardashian blush, but I'm a squatting and deadlifting machine. They aren't going anywhere so you might as well make them as fabulous as possible ;)
  • You aren't lazy...nobody burns the same. I average 400 calories in the gym and I'm overweight.
  • I love deadlifting...I get great satisfaction talking about max reps with my nephew who is a super athelete :)
  • Wrangler over here too...I love it! Previous Jeep was a Grand Cherokee, loved that one too.
