  • Feeling hungry can be a sign of dehydration so make sure you're getting enough water (when pregnant you should be drinking much more water than you usually would anyway). Oddly enough, drinking more water also helps with water retention, so there could be double benefits for you!
  • Hi Everyone, great idea for other June/July/August mums-to-be to link up, a bit of moral support and motivation from people going through the same thing will hopefully help some of us along the way. Feel free to add me! I'm due my first baby on July 14th.

  • I wouldn't aim to hit the allotment, it really is super high. Eat if you're hungry and see how you are tracking. I find it difficult to eat that much anyway, just not enough room in my tummy anymore! If you make reasonably good food choices there's no way you would come close to 2700.
  • Another third trimester person here, almost 30 weeks along. I was super-naughty in 2nd trimester with my eating and pretty much zero exercise so hopefully I can get back on track in some small way over the next few weeks. Am going to try get up earlier in the mornings so that I can go for a walk or something before work,…
  • I was really good for first trimester, a piggy for my 2nd trimester, and now I'm trying to pull that back a bit for my third trimester. I pretty much just eat when I'm hungry - my problem is what I eat when I'm hungry! 2nd trimester for me meant that yellow m&m's became an entire food group of their own.... other than a…

  • Congratulations! I'm due in mid July, it's my first pregnancy. You're welcome to add me if you like :) I was looking at my mfp weight reports earlier today and at the moment I'm the very same weight as when I conceived, but I dropped a few pounds in my first trimester and have started to slowly put it back on again at a…
  • Thought I'd just let people know how I got on in the end. I did it! It was tough, of course, but so much fun. Certain obstacles I just wasn't able for (the upper body strength ones), but I gave a go at everything and we made it to the end as a team. Not only that, but we somehow managed a night out until 5am after it! Our…
  • If I have a more accurate reading, I correct to that figure. Have found mfp to consistently over count calories that I have tracked on gym equipment. Otherwise I just halve the mfp calories.
  • Thanks guys. Nice to get the words of support and tips! I don't expect to do it easily or quickly, and really my biggest goal is to just complete it without major injury this time around. I can see myself walking a lot of it! I'm with a team who are all in the same boat as myself training wise. I'm terrified and excited…
  • This is the first time that MFP has been successful for me in any major way, I've lost about a stone in the last month. The difference? Drinking lots more water, cutting waaaay down on processed foods (so lots of cooking dinner from scratch) and eating about half the amount of carbs that I used to. My calories are usually…
  • Oh I'm with you there - also getting married in July and want to look my best for it. Gonna be looking at those pics for the rest of our days! Best of luck with it :)
  • The guy who pretends he's on a team and goes to the gym head to toe in their kit and "name drops" that he plays with them a few times, but you go out with someone who is REALLY on that team and know they have training at that very point in time 1.5 hours drive away. This guy was in my spin circuit class on Wednesday, I had…
  • I'm joining in a bit late with this, but I've been doing 3 x 1 hour spin circuit classes each week so hopefully that compensates a bit for the first few days I've missed! I'm probably only going to do it on the days that I don't have the spin circuit classes as I don't think I'd be capable of getting the most of my…
  • Great idea, count me in. My BMI is 25.7, would love to change to 5 to a smaller number!
  • I'm exactly the same as you. I had a big drop in weight for the first week or two (about 6lbs) and then plateaued, so it was obviously mostly water weight that I lost. I'm now on a strict enough 1500 kcal per day with 3 very intensive spin circuit workouts per week. I'm in week 3 at the moment and while I feel fitter my…
  • I don't see the problem. Every pregnancy is different, but life doesn't stop with babies and pregnancy. Ruling out doing stuff because of a pregnancy that doesn't exist yet is a bit extreme. If worst comes to worst, your tickets go to waste, or they are used by a friend, or you go to the festival with someone other than…
  • Yeah I tend to have small potatoes, I find two to be a lot. I meant to ask him about substituting the potatoes for brown rice or wholegrain pasta but I completely forgot, I'll ask next time I'm in with him. His only other notes about the food are that where possible it should be organic, or wholegrain, and fresh as…
  • 1200 calories is doable if you eat plenty of veg and cut out the crappy foods. Also, watch portion size with meats and carbs. I was shocked when I weighed the amount of meat I am supposed to be eating - basically one standard sized chicken breast was giving me all my meat allowance for both lunch and dinner, whereas before…
  • Ok, so the food plan is probably a good start for giving the extra info:- Breakfast - 2 oz cereal w/skimmed milk, 1 portion fruit, 1 organic boiled/poached egg Snack - 1 portion fruit, 1 low fat plain yoghurt Lunch - 3 oz fish/poultry/seafood, lots of veg, 1 potato Snack - 1 oz nuts/seeds, 2 high fibre crackerbread, 1…
  • Just to add, since I last posted my weight has dropped down from 76.8kg to 75.4! Had two nights in a row where I was constantly going to the bathroom, so that must have been me shedding all the water that my muscles were camelling around the place for the last two weeks or so. Mondays work out was also the first workout…
  • Great idea, count me in! Here's me 22/02/2011:- bust: 40 waist: small 32 belly button: 36.5 pouch: 38 hips: 42 thighs: 24.5 right arm: 12 left arm: 12.5
  • I'm almost the same as you, same height, but 1lb lighter. My trainer wants me to eat minimum of 1500 per day but I find it very difficult to eat that much. I sit all day every day in work and do three spin circuit classes per week that burn approx 500 cals each. I'm not sure what my MFP goal was originally, I've tampered…
  • I'm so glad you posted this topic, my weight has jumped up from 75.5 kg to 76.8 kg since I started working out on spin circuits ten days ago (which I find SO tough). I've been so disciplined about my food so it has been extremely discouraging (not to mention baffling) to see the scales creeping up. It's great to see that…
  • Your mom might have a point about the dress being difficult to alter. I've bought my dress too small for me purely based on my bridesmaid (who does dress alterations) telling me that if I'm planning on slimming down then my dress would be difficult to alter. It just doesn't work for certain dresses. So I'm hoping and…
  • Day 1 done...and day two starting within the next hour. Found day 1 ok enough, maybe because I did a few days of level one last week so I might be a little used to it. I must get proper weights, have been improvising with bottles of water and juice cartons but that's not ideal! What are you all logging it as? I remember…
  • I'm in  I started it last week but then stopped, so hopefully I'll last a bit better this time around! I was soooo sore by day three because the weights I used were too heavy so my advice is to start with smaller weights and work up in weight gradually. Weight today is 74.7 kg / 164.68 lbs, and hopefully I'll be…
  • Count me in! I did day 2 of level 1 today. I'm a bit achey but not too bad. Just enough to know that I did something yesterday that was tough! I ate shortly before I did it yesterday and will never ever make that mistake again - I felt so nauseous and weak afterwards. Today I left eating until after my shower…
  • I just finished my first week...lost 2lbs and delighted with that!! I'm amazed that some people are able to go down by 5, 6, 7, 8 lbs, but I'm happy with my little 2. Here's hoping I have the same loss next week...
  • Someone told me before that we weigh our lightest in the morning...which is why we should weigh in at the same time of day each time we do it. So if you weigh yourself later today you'll probably be up a little bit, just because of food/water intake. *edit - just noticed that you said you weighed yourself at the same time…
  • Count me in! 25 lbs by the New Year it is....if I manage this I'll be so delighted :D My overall goal is to lose 29 lbs so I wouldn't have too far to go then. I think I'll go with a Friday weigh-in, seeing as I've only just started on here today. Feel free to add and encourage/nag!
