Sometimes a salt craving comes from a thyroid issue, like I have. I'm also vegan, but I find I don't crave salt anymore because I get enough of it from the foods I eat. I never have to add it, unlike before.

My question on the high fat aspect; doesn't fat clog your arteries? Regardless of how much you eat? Over time it's got to be doing some nasty things to your insides. I prefer fruits and vegetables, including high carb :smile:

Losing weight is a one-two combo. It's most definitely moving and exercising, but it's also what you eat. I have hypothyroidism and sciatica as well, but since January I have lost 45 pounds. The best part about this is YOU CAN DO IT! :smile:

I strongly suggest you watch the documentary Forks over Knives. I'm pre-diabetic as well, and since converting to eating whole food plant based meals, I feel incredible and it's only been 2 weeks! I'm eager for my next doctor visit with blood work so I can see how good my levels are, and I know they will be.

I'm in the same boat. It's definitely difficult, and after reading everyone's great responses, I'm more excited to try and break the vicious cycle! This is definitely a journey, and not always an easy one.
