I always eat 1500 calories + a day, usually between 1700-2200 and occasionally more than that. Feel free to add me if you eat! I'll accept just about anybody as my friend lol.

Sounds about right to me - you'd be surprised how many calories a person can safely lose weight on. Remember, you're in this for the long haul, not a quickie weight loss. At 1200 calories you'll lose weight but more than likely eventually stall out due to the lack of 'gas in your tank'. Congrats on starting your healthy…

I've been watching Supernatural and rewatching The Office... In my opinion, watching tv or movies beats just listening to music any day.

in the first week of dieting there is often a big weight loss- which is usually a fair amount of water loss and a little bit of fat/muscle depending on your deficit. I wouldn't be concerned if it's just your first week, but if you keep consistently losing 4 pounds/week then definitely up your calories. That being said, if…

If you are measuring (with a kitchen scale, not measuring spoons) every thing you put in your mouth, it is possible that you are dealing with hypothyroidism. Are you frequently tired, cold, or have thinning hair? Hypothyroidism is a common reason for weight gain, and people who often have the autoimmune disease have…

Chocolate chip fiberplus eggo waffles and steam and mash sweet potatoes I keep looking and hoping they'll reappear to me, lol

Try calculating your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) and subtracting 250 calories or 20% from that. Slowly increase to those calories. Here is one of the best calculators - http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ Your body will thank you in the long run, and you'll be more likely to maintain the weight that…

Your body always isn't the best indicator when it comes to being full. Sometimes you need to eat a little more than your mind is telling you that you need to eat. Sounds crazy, I know, but coming in at 500-1000 calories is not healthy nor sustainable. If you are having trouble reaching your cals, add more healthy fat. More…

Maybe this will sound weird, but a gigantic bowl of sugary cereal. When I was younger I would mix a whole bunch of different types together and go crazy. That sugar high is unbelievable, especially if it was the end of the bag and all the sugary bits were at the bottom. I'd probably mix Reese's Puffs, Frosted Flakes, and…

Looking at your diary you aren't eating enough. People rarely need 1200 calories to lose weight, and any less than that is putting your body is a state of distress, especially with exercise. Stick with scooby's worshop or fitnessfrog for your calorie needs so you can lose weight healthily and efficiently

The biggest issue with losing weight is calories in versus calories out. I'm not sure how many calories you are taking in, but you need to be at a deficit if you want to lose anything. Find your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) via fitnessfrog and subtract 15-20%. Editted because I had a blonde moment. Sorry bout…

Yes. Your body needs fuel for a number of things. To make your organs function, including your heart, lungs, and kidneys. To "burn" to keep us warm. To give us energy, not only for exercise, but everything else you do in life. MFP's recommendation of 1200 calories does NOT include exercise. You do eat those calories back.…

Since I don't know how to insert a gif here, look up a picture of Michael Scott/Steve Carell and his "NOOOO!" line in The Office. On a serious note, don't. Your body needs the nutrition and your body is already strained just eating 1200. I recommend eating back AT LEAST half your exercise calories. Not only will you have…

I'm trying to lose 18-23 pounds :) I'm hoping to start switching over to maintenance early August, about 4.5 months away. I'm also hoping that I can shed about 15 ish pounds by early June. Anyway, add me if you want a friend! I'm always looking for someone new to talk to.

A man should not be eating anything less than 1500 calories a day, and that is for someone who is absolutely sedentary - no exercise whatsoever. I would start by upping your calories to there, then eating back AT LEAST half the calories you burn via exercise - that or setting a daily goal of about 1800. Also, don't step on…

While it was my mother and not myself who was afflicted with hypothyroidism, I can tell you she did have brittle hair/fingernails, was tired often, and was cold constantly. She was actually checked by her doctor after she had lost a fair amount of weight, on a protein-only eating plan (which is odd that she lost weight,…
