  • Any change to my routine causes temporary water retention. My concern is the face bloating you mentioned. Maybe you should talk to your doctor. Do they have you on any medications? I can tell you I gained 20lbs over a matter of weeks due to meds and as much as I hoped... sadly none of it ended up being water weight.
  • Hell Yeah!! Lift!! Lift!! Lift!!
  • I get like this when I eat too little. Maybe your deficit is a little too big?
  • I follow EM2WL... so I'll just eat what I want and make sure it fits my macros :) I actually started it a week before Christmas last year and I lost weight over Christmas instead of gaining!
  • You said you ate taco bell today and gained 1.5 lbs. You haven't even fully digested it yet. There is no way you gained actual fat already.
  • I follow EM2WL, so if I want to have something out of the ordinary.. I just make sure it fits into my macros :)
  • This!! And use a wider stance if necessary. I have issues with one of my hip flexors and if I am not perfectly wide enough and consciously pushing outwards, then my knees cave in to compensate.
  • I am also on the high body fat crew (220 lbs), but I have some pretty bad *kitten* traps too :)
  • This!! At 270, I was a DD... at 220, I am just getting into a D.
  • I add 1 to 1 1.2 tbsp of coconut flour. It gives it more of a pancakey texture. I find it is just a little to moist for me without it.
  • You are very welcome. I hope you enjoyed it :)
  • Sticking with it is a personal battle, but having supportive people around you can help a lot. You can find lots of support here. Feel free to add me if you would like. And there is nothing wrong with you. You know what needs to be done. You have a goal in mind. You've stumbled a few times. It has happened to many of us.…

  • Overall calories is what matters most. That being said, carbs do tend to cause water retention for many. Personally I have my macros set to 40/30/30 C/F/P as a guideline, but often I am much lower on the carbs and much higher on the fat.
  • Fat won't make you gain fat just because it is fat. It is however much more calorie dense than protein or carbs, so it doesn't take much effort to rack up the calories. The concern is when you eat too many calories overall.
  • As far as bread... I don't really eat it. I occasionally make avocado bread which is just avocado, ground flax seeds and eggs..... but its not really for everyone. Message me if you want the recipe and I'll give it to you. I hate the GF bread in stores anyways. Friends have made some that tasted good but this was all…
  • You are very welcome. They have a points program too. It equals to about $25 off every 3-4 containers I buy. Its not bad really. I live in Ontario and I get it in about a week. You would get it much quicker.
  • Not sure if you are still using the brown rice protein at all, but you can buy 3kg of the heartland brand on bodyenergyclub.com for $75+tax, free shipping with no minimums. They are based out of BC, so depending where you live, they may have a location closer to you to buy in store. I am not sure if the price is the same…
  • Maybe having snacks prepped for her to easily grab and take with her. Include some less healthy type snacks too.. in case she is doing something where junk food is involved, like movies or something with her friends. I think it would help her feel less deprived in a case like that. Making food more fun is a good way too or…
  • Interestingly enough, I ate closer to 2700 this week.. some days even 2800 and lost 1.8 lbs. I'll give it a few more weeks, but that may have been the problem.
  • If you are interested in a protein powder, there is Heartland brown rice protein. There is no added anything if you get the plain. The vanilla has some flavoring and stevia though. Warning! It is super grainy compared to whey. You get used to it after time though.
  • The above is a pic from about 6 lbs ago.. so it should be accurate enough. I'm 222 as of today.... yep another 2 lbs this week lol. I am overweight but I do have a fair amount of muscle too, so the underestimated TDEE may be possible. It is not something I considered before. I think meds are always a possibility too. I…
  • Hmmm... so I looked back at my weight logs and found something interesting but really doesn't make sense. In regards to the medication issues I mentioned... the first one I was on for about 2 weeks and gained 10lbs. I wish it was water weight... but it never left. One of the side effects it can have is to suppress the…
  • It is a pretty leisurely swim. I just changed the number to 300 minutes of walking/equally intense, rather than 370 like it would have been adding the swimming. Mostly because I lift every second day.... so leaving the lifting at 210 (3.5 hours), it would accomodate weeks where I am only lifting 3 times as oppose to 4 and…
  • Thank you very much for the chart. It is very helpful. I updated the numbers as per your instructions. It gave me TDEE of 2678. 2410 at a 10% cut and 2276 at a 15% cut. It seems like my numbers were pretty close.... but not getting the intended effects. Maybe I do just need a reset after all that craziness over the last…
  • I had picked 3-5 since I don't really consider walking as much. I do consider it.... just not hour for hour. Is this incorrect?
  • Oh I sweat like crazy too! And I starving when I am done. Can't nobody tell me that isn't a workout! lol
  • You will get enough about how eating more works, so I am going to share something else with you. Many years ago, my doctor (former doctor) told me to lose weight. He said to stop eating chips (simple enough, I didn't eat them anyways), canned soups and other high sodium foods (didn't eat those either) and lastly to eat…
  • Agreed! It sure does work! Oh.. and edge over to the fan.... it will help ease your guilt :D
