Thanks all, that's what I figured. I'd like to be as accurate as possible, and don't want my progress to be effected by an inaccurate device suggesting I'm burning more, and can therefore eat more. I think I'll return my fitbit and go back to using my chest strap HRM for workout and relying on weight loss to determine if…

Always looking for new friends to help keep me accountable. Starting fresh in the new year and trying to lose 50 pounds! Starting couch to 5k and eating healthy, mostly unprocessed foods. Please add me if you have similar interests or want support :)

Thanks for the response. My heart rate monitor says my burns are bigger, but insanity users in the forums said no. I tend to think its less, just because otherwise I should have been dropping weight based on my deficit and I am not. Not sure what to go with or if I should adjust my BMF.

19 pounds.... And I've been plateaued since April!

I am not petite but have had a similar problem just counting cals and logging. Are you weighing and measuring all of your food? When you have a very small deficit to start with its easy to underestimate your calories and end up at maintenance instead of in a deficit. This is the first thing I would do before changing my…

bump - just in time for school to start!

I would do a whole eggplant, lightly breaded 1/3 cup whole wheat bread crumbs, and baked. Top with marinara and a tiny sprinkle of cheese. Yum. So much food for less than 400 calories

I get a large light minute maid lemonade. Its full of artificial sweetener :( but I only have it once every month or so. It only has 20 calories and satisfies my sweet pop craving.

I may start my own thread, thanks for the advice. I have done that before but find that I get too much conflicting advice. My weekend of not logging was a fluke - bachelorette party and bridal shower. I log pretty consistently. I wear a hrm with chest strap, and have never heard of Insanity cals being overestimated on hrm…

I apologize if it was uncalled for... I am offended by the whole threads "it is so simple" attitude. I am working on my doctorate - its not simple for me. I am wearing a bodymedia fit to try to find exactly how much I am burning. My bmr is 1534, my tdee is 2378. I have been eating at 1900 calories for over two months with…

I have done that 3 times giving each time about 8 weeks adjustment, wear a heart rate monitor with a chest strap and weigh and measure my food. I have calculated TDEE and subtracted, adjusted macros, switched up my exercise. Maybe since you know EXACTLY how to do it, you should figure out what I should eat and how much…

This post contradicts my whole last 4 months of plateauing at 1200, 1600 and 1900 calories while doing cardio. I'm eating under maintenance, I'm burning a bunch of calories doing insanity and I'm not losing weight. How do I fit into your simplistic "this is all you have to do" theory?

This thread made my day.

I would test it out, but I am definitely tired after the fit test. In month two, the expect you to do a workout after the fit test, but not in month one. I would have been too tired to do it, but if you have the energy - go for it!

I am starting month 2 on Wednesday!

I like butterball turkey bacon - the 65% less fat version. It is 25 calories per slice. I know its full of processed crap and even though I am striving to eat unprocessed foods, if turkey bacon, yogurt and wheat bread are my processed "junk" I can accept that. Also, you should try microwaving it longer to get it crispy. I…

You look awesome and there is definitely a difference. I think there is a phenomenon where people losing weight feel bigger than they are simply because they are paying more attention to it when they may not have previously. I feel the same way! I have lost over 40 pounds but I have never felt heavier!

I can SO relate to this! I had a slump weeks 2-4 doing Insanity. I am eating 1900 calories per day currently. I feel like I have no energy for it. I can't tell you if this has worked for me or not, because I am just starting it... but my new goal is to at least NET my bmr which is 1586. Many days my net is way less than…

Emotional eater here! My moms strategy for a bad day when we were little was to take us to eat ice cream.

I guessed 15% larger. Interesting though is that I definitely have an hour glass figure but it says I'm a pear because my hips are three inches larger than my bust. Hmm...

I expected the MFP numbers to be inflated and set myself up for a little disappointment about my burns when I got my HRM. Surprisingly, though, MFP consistently calculated my calories correctly (usually within 20 cals of my HRM). I find I typically burn about 10 calories per minute doing my high intensity workouts and can…

I feel the same way. I am eating at TDEE and doing insanity and losing nothing. I did turbofire before this and was stuck for 6 weeks. And my vlcd friends are dropping pounds like mad. :,(

You look great!

Bumping for awesomeness.

I used the EAS shakes and loved the taste, especially served over ice and drank with a straw. The problem I discovered was that I have a sucralose intolerance which caused serious intestinal distress while drinking them. I switched to a protein with real sugar and not a substitute and have never had a problem.
