  • Your story is so inspiring! What I love is the part when you say that "I am not a goal yet but I am in no hurry". That is the key...right there! You have done amazing in a short amount of time but sounds like you are in it for the long haul...for a lifetime...and that is the secret to success! Well done!
  • I would say, "I don't have a six pack, I have a keg". Still no six pack but the keg is getting smaller!
  • I have a HRM. I like it for calories burned but I also use it to see how high my heart rate goes and how quickly it comes back down. That is the real determination on how fit you are. How quickly you recover. I just like it to see how hard I am working.
  • Oh Kamp...I am just glad you are back, buddy! There are going to be many opportunities in this life to mess up, don't you worry! I like what the previous post said...you get do overs! This weight loss thing is a real *****. It is more a mental game than anything...you know that. Food can be a great comfort, unfortunately.…
  • I agree with Mz Maniak. Plus, it is impossible to determine how many carbs, fat, and protein etc. you are consuming with the quick add calories. I would take the time and input the correct food. There are millions of food items in the database and you can create "meals" so you don't have to keep adding in the individual…
  • I like the Six Star Nutrition Whey Protein in triple chocolate. I mix it in my Magic Bullet blender with ice cubes and a banana and water. Mixes well and tastes yummy! 170 calories and 30 grams of protein. 8 carbs and 2 grams of sugar. I blend it up so I am not sure how good it is if you just shook it up.
  • I am lucky that I have a big fridge at work that I store all my stuff in. I workout in the morning and then head to work and have a protein shake with a banana in it. I keep my magic bullet blender at work. I like to pack hard boiled eggs. They are easy to incorporate into a meal. Sometimes I put it in my salad or mash it…
  • I would love a new MFP friend. I go to the gym every weekday morning and do a combo of weight training and cardio. I am not too concerned with the number on the scale. I always say...I don't care what I weigh as long as I can fit into my jeans/shorts/dress..whatever. I have been weight training for about a year now and…
  • Tough with little ones at home but I go to the gym at 6:00 am every weekday morning. My little ones are little teenagers now, so I can manage the early mornings. When the kids were little, I would go after work, before I went home. This was a bit of a drag as I would not get home until 7pm, but with my husbands help with…
  • Have you tried doing planks? They seem to work for me. I do side planks as well and drop my hip to the floor 10 times. That really gets the obliques. I also like lying on my back and lifting both legs up straight up and down. Just be careful if your back hurts. May want to put your hands beneath the small of your back to…
  • That is hilarious! And too true! I know exactly what I am doing wrong when I am gaining and losing the same damn couple pounds. Just what you said, not being as disciplined as I should.
  • Hello! I would love a new MFP buddy! I am on everyday! I will send a request!
  • You get out of your truck after a spin class and your legs have turned to jelly on the drive home.
  • Haha! Love this! No...I am by no means lucky. I work out 5 days a week. I get up at 5:30am every weekday and head to the gym to lift weights, take spin class, do various step classes. I run, do the elliptical and generally sweat my *kitten* off. I do not drink during the week, I pack my own lucnhes, I eat 1700 cals a day…
  • Thar's me!! I will send a request! My goal is 135. I started at 175 and have got to 140 before but the past 8 months or so it has crept back up. Looking for some motivation!
  • That HiiTBoxing sounds intense. I would try that and MMA and kettelbells. Belly dancing would be fun too!
  • Hi there! I know you have just started at the gym and way to go...that is awesome. You are doing great by getting out there and doing it. I looked at your exercise diary and I was thinking perhaps you should lift heavier weights but with less reps. I see you leg press 20 pounds 30 times. You could probably press 60-70…
  • I tend to agree with the others. That is way too drastic. If you deprive yourself that much you will never stay on the plan. You will be starving all the time! You will be surprised how little changes make huge differences. Drink more water, eat more veggies and fruit. Cut out "bad foods" a little at a time. Don't cut out…
  • Wow! Good for you for turning this around. You have been through a lot in your life time. I will send a friend request!

  • I am a Canucks fan as well and both these teams burn my butt! But I think I will route for the Blackhawks...although it goes against every fiber in my body! :)

  • I guess it depends how much tension is on the bike. If you are just pedaling along with not too much tension on the bike, I guess you may not sweat too much. Try upping the tension (make it harder to pedal) and try that for a bit, then up it again. Make it hard to pedal, like you are going up a big hill. Then lower the…
  • WooHoo!! Congratulations! Well done. You should be very proud! Way to go...here is to more races in your future!
  • Love all NSV! Well done! Keep up the great work!
  • Hello! Yes, I have 15 pounds I want to get off...for like, a year now! I seem to be stuck. I have lost 30 but have stalled. I will send a friend request!
  • Kamp...I am so happy to see you back! You were rocking it there for awhile and I know you can do it again! You still have lost 20 pounds and that is nothing to sneeze at buddy! Just move forward and don't look back. The past is done, now you just need to dig down and focus on the future! You can do it. I know life throws…
  • Hiya! When I got my HRM, not the same as yours, it said to enter the top end heart rate as 220 - your age. So for me, my highest maximum heart rate is 220-44=176. I then set the low rate to 80. Not sure why I chose 80 but there ya go. Not sure if I am using it correctly or not. I have to look through my manual again! What…
  • So good! So right! Well done, thank you for sharing!
  • Yes, I agree with the previous post. Small changes, a little at a time. If you try to cut out everything at once, it is bound to fail. Having said that, you don't have to cut everything out, just smaller portions or only on a given day. I found that eating 3 meals a day and 2 snacks really helped keep the hungries at bay.…
  • I just bought a HRM and compared to the MFP site, the HRM seems really high. Like I put in 90 minutes of soccer in MFP and it said 962 calories burned...my HRM say 1200 calories burned. Now I worked my butt off but I don't know how accurate the HRM is. It is hard to tell. My HRM gives me way more calories burned weight…
