I run 15 miles a week and lift. My weight has stayed the same since I've been doing this (I think it may have even gone up a bit)- but my clothes are a little looser and also I really like beer and cheese.

Last week I finally got 100kg deadlift (YAY) - just wanted to know what you guys thought of the form on it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hv1p3ikt52I

This is so hard! Right now I came up with: Nuts (Cashews if I have to pick one - at least I can blend them up into nut butter too!) Yoghurt Fish (If I have to choose just one, then I'd probably go for Mackerel for value for money, goodness and versatility - but some of you have just put 'cheese') Brocolli Sweet Potato…

I just hit 1.5 times body weight by hitting my 100kg finally! I have a video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hv1p3ikt52I I'm happy. I've been lifting for probably just under a year, but haven't been doing stronglifts for a while. I train with a club doing mostly OLY lifting and try and fit in some power lifting on my own…

I think C is good!

Hi everyone! I haven't really been checking in as I've been doing more training towards Olympic lifts than Stronglifts. BUT at the end of our final training session comp yesterday I finally got my 100kg dealift. I'M SO HAPPY. Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hv1p3ikt52I&feature=youtube Yaaay. Hopefully I'll get…

100kg deadlift! Or more... 45kg snatch 80kg squat. Keep up 15 miles a week. Drink a bit less beer.

I haven't posted for a while, but I recently joined a new weightlifting club at my uni and started going to sessions with a coach once a week. We're aiming towards some OLY lifts and I can now snatch, which is very fun. I've only snatched 22.5kg so far, but that was for 5 reps and I'm pretty happy! In other news, I finally…

This sounds horrendous.

I've recently had a break and deloaded a fair bit, but before that happened I was at Squats - 75kg ~ 165lb Deadlifts - 85kg ~ 187lb Bench - 40kg ~ 88lb OHP - 30kg ~ 66lb Now I'm trying to work back up and smash those PBs. I hated Pendlays and for a while I was messing around with one arm dumbell rows, inverted bodyweight…

Oh, but I'd also second that you should definitely get fitted! Everyone is different and all that jazz.

I need support shoes, rather than neutral, but I'd echo that Asics Gel range feel really great. Went for my first run in my new pair today and I'm very happy!

I've had nearly a month off lifting properly (just the occasional work out) for various reasons, but I went back today. Deloaded a lot from where I was to focus on form and hopefully now I can build back up and smash through what I was lifting before. My first work out back in the zone: Squats -50kg-5x5 OHP-25kg-5x5…

Cheese.

Thanks so much, daisybee! It's my first time posting photos on here so all a bit strange, haha.
-
Oh, I also wanted to add that these sorts of threads are exactly what inspired me to start lifting, so thanks!
-
Here are the first photos I've ever posted on here! In normal clothes and definitely looking bulkier in the 'before'. The during is after a 20 pound-ish loss and before any 'heavy' lifting - just circuits and body weight stuff really. And a lot of running. The after is from a couple of weeks ago after doing stronglifts for…

Seeing your photos is brilliant and the exact sort of thing that prompted me to start lifting. The first photo is my 'before' and what gave me the kick in the *kitten* to do something - this ended up being joining MFP and ramping up my exercise. The during is after a 20 pound-ish loss and before any 'heavy' lifting - just…

It's so easy to do these sort of things! I I know your frustration. I feel extra shame when it happens as I'm a mathematician by trade.

I had a week off of lifting to prepare for a 10k (the hottest, hilliest, hardest I've ever done - did NOT get the PB I wanted. But I can deal with 55.40 considering the conditions). Anyway, after lifting with an experienced power lifter friend of mine and getting some critique on form before my week off, I decided to…

Amazing work! A far off dream is to reach 2x bodyweight. Just now I'm around 10kg over 1x so it'll be a long journey.

Last week I had end of the day plate confusion and accidentally put 77.5kg on for my squats (I was supposed to be at 75kg), but I didn't notice until the last set got pretty tough. SO, I managed 55554 at this weight, which I'm pretty happy with! I've started doing some single dumbell rows instead of Pendlays and did 5x5 at…
-
I just finally lifted more than 27.5kg (66lb) on the OHP and did 30kg - 55553. May not have got the last two reps out, but I couldn't even do one set at that weight before. I'm so happy! Also did some more 72.5kg (160lb) 5x5 squats aaaand a new push on the deadlift to 77.5kg (170lbs). Very pleased with today. And also now…

What a babe! She's my height too. And I reckon my build if I remove some of my lingering fat. Good inspiration for my lifting session later today.
-
I've done this same thing before! I couldn't understand why it felt so heavy and then realised I had 10kg more on than I should've. You'd think that as a mathematician I'd be able to work out how different size plates add up.

Thanks for this! Sounds like a good way for me to start too.
