7 ingredients for the rest of your life

So if you could choose only 7 ingredients for the rest of your life what would you choose? You'd have to balance nutrients and flavour and variety...there's no right answer here. I choose something different every time. (It's entirely hypothetical etc but it's fun to contemplate!)
Tonight, I'd choose: eggs, spinach, tomato, potato, beef, milk, and oranges. At a push I could make some sort of cheesey number with the milk and citrus, and even if I was bored I'd possibly get the macros I needed from everything else. There's no salt, and I put chilli in almost everything so I'd sob into my boring dinner every night without it. What can I replace so that I can include salt and chilli?! Or should I just accept boredom?!

I would choose:
Canned Tuna
Baked Beans
Milk
Banana
Tomato
dark chocolate
Bread0 -
Potatoes
Red Wine
Coffee
Tuna
Cheese (a cheat really as it affords lots of choice)
Peas
Bananas
7 is really limiting. I thought it was going to be easy but I realise I've left out chocolate  and nutsBut there's no way I'm ditching the coffee or wine for those. And if I could, I'd add in bell peppers. Can't I have 10?:grumble:
0 -
almond milk
oranges
ground turkey
brown rice
cabbage
white beans
olive oil0 -
Avocado
Goat cheese
Red lentils
Basmati rice
Hummus (unless I have to choose each ingredient separately, then I'll just take the tahini)
Peanut butter
Buffalo tobasco sauce
That'd keep me pretty happy.0 -
7 is really hard! I like to think that eventually I'd figure out how to make some sort of liqour out of my 7 ingredients. Unfortunately I couldn't make chocolate out of them...I might have to move in with someone else!
Edited to add that there are some fabulous ideas here! Hadn't even thought about nuts.0 -
This is so hard!
Right now I came up with:
Nuts (Cashews if I have to pick one - at least I can blend them up into nut butter too!)
Yoghurt
Fish (If I have to choose just one, then I'd probably go for Mackerel for value for money, goodness and versatility - but some of you have just put 'cheese')
Brocolli
Sweet Potato
Lentils (Puy - if I have to choose)
Portobello mushrooms
I'm mostly going off what I buy and eat most of every single week.0 -
kiwifruit
coconuts
salmon
rice
tomatoes
kale
milk
thats hard.
you would want things like
basil
mustard seeds
chilli peppers
eggs
limes
potatoes
kale
salt
pepper
sugar
all kinds of nuts!0 -

Chicken is the most versatile meat. I know I can't live without milk and bread. Spinach and carrots are both vegetables that can be prepared numerous ways. I went with peanuts so that I can have crunch when I want, and also make peanut butter.0
