  • Adding you now! Cw-146/gw-115ish Small frame and general body composition make 150 look big on me. Before kids I was 140 and super happy, now all the weight sits in my stomach. I was at 117 two years ago, and mostly happy. Whatever your goals are - as long as you're healthier and happy it's a win
  • Former gamer. (How sad is that??) I don't have time? (Translated- when I play something I do literally nothing else...) my kids play and I play with them. Looking forward to the new Zelda and also Nintendo switch. Undertale is big in my house right now.

  • Anyone can add me
  • My goal is to get back on track.
  • Thanks! I'll check it out!
  • Thanks guys. Look forward to getting to know you
  • Adding you
  • Thanks Jess :) I am on day 14 now and I can't believe how much better I feel...I don't have an exact plan right now for what I'll do on day 31. Some things are annoying (sugar, dairy, soy) simply because it's really hard to find foods I like without these added. But I definitely see myself eating this way in the future.…
  • I'm sure there are apps, but the best motivation I've seen is the wonderful people here. We are all in the same boat. Add friends and post on your newsfeed. When you want to give up there are always a dozen people there to help you stay strong or help you figure out how to fix the problem.
  • Anyone feel free to add me! I have 30 to go. Back on MFP after gaining back 30 of the 80 I lost. Most of my friends aren't here now and the newsfeed is loooonely! @Georgesgirl - don't stress about how much you need to lose...you got this! Every day you're a little closer to where you want to be.
  • Sorry. I need to get on the computer and edit this. The second half of my post is missing. Short story - I was fit and fabulous when I was on MFP. I got away from my plan and gained 30 pounds. Had difficulty getting back to what was (for me) an obsessive lifestyle of logging and weighing food. Like, unhealthily obsessive.…
  • Sometimes my dinner ends up looking nothing like the rest of the family's dinner. I have learned to keep my ingredients as separate as possible when cooking, and combine them differently for myself and them. (ex - I'll have 4x the meat they will, but no pasta/rice). Or I make a casserole, and want less sauce for myself and…
  • Me too, me too!! If I don't feel full, I feel deprived, and I will eat all the foods. :) I do a lot of what other people have been saying here... Bulk up my meals with healthy, light foods...a lot of times I will have a giant salad with a little bit of lentils and rice, a good amount of protein (chicken, steak, or pork)…
  • Welcome to MFP! :) Looks like you have a good attitude - and that's a great start. If you want to get a better "community" feel, start adding friends. Your newsfeed is where you see everyone posting their successes and failures on a daily basis. Look at some groups to find what appeals to you. Feel free to add me if you…
  • I have the One, and have worn it all day, almost every day since I got it in August of 2013. I clip it on my bra (between the cups) and I don't notice it. The zip also can be clipped to the bra like this, and is a bit less expensive, but some people (with smaller boobs) say that it can be seen under some shirts. I looked…
  • I have read so many people on here who have changed their lives, one tiny bit at a time. You're looking for motivation, and that only really comes when you start to see results. As the first reply says - ONE thing. FIVE minutes. Either a walk, or the elliptical, or something else. Just get up, and do some sort of exercise…
  • Are you wondering how to get a consistent measurement? I have always had a definite waist, even when I was big, so that wasn't a problem, but legs and arms can show an inch difference on the same day...I measure from some set point on my body...meaning, thigh measurements are taken seven inches from the middle of my…
  • But if you could pull it off, you'd get some props and burn a few extra calories from the core strength required to accomplish such a feat.

  • Buy a food scale. Weigh everything you eat. Log it in your diary. If you're over at first, that's okay - you're trying to find what works for you and your habits/lifestyle. You say "fluctuates", which makes me think you're maintaining weight instead of actually gaining. It might be as simple as adding a bit of exercise…

  • I agree to an extent, but also have been down the 1200 calorie road quite often. It works for a while, but sometimes it can really mess your metabolism up. Your body will adjust to almost anything after a while. :) I don't have a lot left to lose, and if I eat 1200 calories, I will not lose weight...At 5'4 and 117lbs, I…
  • Some of it might be fat loss, but most is water weight. It should level off in a week or two and then you'll start the frustrating part. ;) Why are you eating so little? With 91lbs to lose, you are probably starving on that! Have you read about TDEE and BMR? If not, read through this...…
  • Yup. The majority of my loss has been from exactly what you say. Not much problem maintaining, but the losses were always 15lbs in 2-3 weeks, and then it stopped. Gain a couple back, maintain for a couple of months, and then lose a bit more. What helped me was learning to trust the system. Figure out what you're actually…
  • I have a friend who was morbidly obese for her entire life until her family hired a nutritionist. She was so inspired at how the lady helped people that she went to school and got her masters in nutrition. She's lost a lot of weight. She's still pretty big. She's great at her job. And nutritionists and are only trying to…
  • I doubt you will find any 2 scales that agree exactly on what you weigh...if you are trying to monitor your weight, its best to only look at one. The numer itself matters les than whether that number is going up or down. It is extremely frustrating to thinkyou weigh something, and then se a muhhigher number on another…
  • STEAK! (rare) What's the last thing that made you smile?
  • You have two options...if you want to lose weight, you have to burn more than you consume. So you either have to keep your food around 1800, or exercise more so that you can have 2000. If you just want more food, you have to move more...otherwise you need to find food choices that keep you satisfied on the 1800 you're…
  • Maybe you're going about this the wrong way. One of myfavorite mantras is this: If a system continually fails, there is a flaw in the system. Motivation is a complex and personal thing. So why is your system failing? Is it what you are eating? When? How much? I fought myself for years trying to make salads every day for…
