Make that two more votes. My husband quit after reading this book. He had tried EVERYTHING. I had heard about this book so I just bought it one day and left it on his office desk. He must have tried to quit 20 times since we got married (almost 11 years ago.) I thought the man would NEVER QUIT. This book did it for him.…

Oh. My. God. This is hysterical. I laughed so hard I think I peed a little.

Did anyone else notice that the OP started this thread in July, 2012???? Wonder what OP decided?? And my answer would be NO. NOT OKAY.

I agree. I hate weight lifting, always have, and I will never stick with it.
-
Congratulations, you look fantastic!! Hope I can maintain too! :)

Yup, I heard this one too. Except it was from someone I had just started dating at the time, and it was 50# not 30. Nice, huh? :ohwell:

^^^This. I always found that I get a better workout on the elliptical. But as someone else said, as long as you get your heart rate up, it doesn't really matter which you do.

I've always heard "if you fail to plan, then plan to fail." I always do better when I plan my meals, so it's an excellent practice that I've gotten into the habit of doing. I need to know everything I've eaten for the day BEFORE I eat dinner so I don't go over my calories (I do go over sometimes anyway, but at least it's a…

I regularly eat the lobster cannelloni with shrimp - but I usually eat half or even 1/4 of it and take the rest home. That's what I do with ALL their meals because they all have way too many calories/fat/sodium for ONE meal. But if you break any one of their dishes into 2 or 3 meals, they're not bad at all. :)

^^^^This and I thought I should mention - you better make sure you are getting enough protien (it doesn't look like you are) or else you're going to start having some pretty bad hair loss. It's quite unnerving. I learned this the hard way.

GRAMMAR GRIEF AAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA! I really cracked up at this one.

Honestly, I noticed the biggest difference with the last 7 lbs I lost!! All the sudden I had these super-toned arms! And this is going to sound stupid, but I really didn't even notice them until someone mentioned something to me about how good they looked. I was so used to covering up that I DID NOT EVEN NOTICE MY OWN…

I weigh daily, right as soon as I wake up, wearing only a smile. I only log losses. I don't let the daily weight fluctuations bug me too much. It works for me to keep me in check. If I stay away from the scale too long, I begin to fear getting on it. At least this way, I know I can eat a few less calories for a few days…

BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH SOOOO funny!!!!!!!!!
-
Hilarious!!!!!!! I spit my coffee all over my desk because I laughed so hard.

I agree - I weigh daily. It works for ME. Of course it won't work for everyone, but I'd rather see a +.2 change in the scale rather than wait a week or two until my pants get tight and realize I've gained 3 or 4 lbs. I don't get upset when I see a 1 or 1.5 lb gain. I know it's temporary. Weighing weekly/bi-weekly NEVER…

This happens to me too. I've learned to live with it, and so far, I've only logged the losses, not the gains. I weigh myself just about every day because when I don't, I start to fear getting on the scale. If I stay off the scale for too long, I fear the gain may become excessive. Does that make me obsessive? Maybe. Does…

Just passed 320 days - feel free to add me if you like

I love this post. The fatter me really felt terrible physically - always in pain. She couldn't do nearly as much as I can do now. She was awesome in many ways, but she was really difficult to live with because she was in a constant state of pain.
