Wonderful, positive, uplifting. Thank you for sharing this with the community. I know a lot of people need to hear it, myself included.

Listen to your body. In my opinion cardio every day is just fine for most people, as long as your body isn't telling you otherwise. If you're following a lifting routine you DO need to take time off to recover from that. But just cardio? You're probably fine.

Zuuuumba! I go four times a week. I may look like a complete idiot, but I love it nonetheless. The most fun you can have with your clothes on.

I use "Slap Ya Mama". It's a Cajun seasoning mix made with salt, black and red pepper, and garlic. Good stuff.

Impressive work!

Post of awesomeness. Gold star for you. :flowerforyou:

Coffee gives me superpowers.

When you start doing it without thinking, when it becomes automatic...that' s when you know it's a habit. Good or bad.

Thank you for this thread! Looking forward to being able to do my first!

Most of the time I feel amazing! But the first time I did legs I went down the stairs at the gym and my legs were all wobbly and stuff. I had to cling to the bannister for dear life. LOL.

Just don't trumpet and you should be fine LOL.

I do both. It's helpful to have the DVDs because 1.) They're convenient, and 2.) They will help you learn the steps ahead of time so when you do find a class you don't feel like a complete newbie. I prefer classes to the DVDs because they are more challenging and you get a variety of music, but both are enjoyable. You…

First of all, let me say that I am proud of you for the work you've done over the past year. I know it's hard to keep your motivation and focus when the scale isn't moving as much as you would like. Don't lose hope. Try tweaking this and that...higher calories, lower calories, your macros (specifically less sugar and…

Moderation, man! You can't just start with soup cans and pickle jars! You gotta work your way up!

I love this answer.

You heard the chorus of angels too? I thought that was just me. LOL.

I am a twin, so I understand that competitive side that comes with it. Respect her feelings and let the two of them work it out between themselves. Only step in if you are asked to.

Heck yeah! *fist bump* :drinker:

You are worth it, my friend. Every drop of sweat, every minute in the gym, every good decision you make when you plan your meals...you are WORTH all the hard work. You are WORTH the hard choices. You are. Never forget that.

There's a lot of great advice here. Remember that the tools you need to succeed are right here in front of you, and all you have to do is use them...eyes on the prize. Focus on where you want your future to go, and then follow the path that takes you there. If you lose your way, retrace your steps and find your way back.…

I had someone comment yesterday, "Gosh, you're getting skinny! What are you doing, starving yourself?". So I proceeded to explain that not only was I NOT starving myself, but I was eating breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, usually taking in close to 1800 calories a day and exercising for less than an hour. Oh, and…

I believe in coffee!

Don't panic, just eat small portions. It may not be the best for you, but anything is fine in moderation.

Will. Never. Give. Up. Coffee.

Excellent information in this post, thank you!

You're braver than me for trying 30DS! Pretty sure I would keel over immediately. Start small, then work your way up. If you try to do too much you'll burn out or possibly hurt something. Slow and steady increases. As 1fitmimi said, just try to do what you can and challenge yourself to improve upon that. I fully…

Low blood pressure sounds like the culprit, especially if you are on a "water pill" like hydrochlorathiazide, or any kind of blood pressure meds. When you lose, your blood pressure usually drops, and if it's low to begin with or is being artificially lowered by medication, it is quite common to get postural hypotension.

Don't lose heart! This is a journey to a healthy life, take it one step at a time. As for me, when I first started I didn't weigh myself for almost a month so I wouldn't be discouraged by any weight fluctuations. Another important factor is exercise...it will make a difference, even if it's just two 15-minute walks a day.…
