  • Thanks for this and it's good to see there are people inspecting these for a living. I have heard a lot of people comment "how do you know it's organic" and "you're just paying for a label" - so it's nice to see you are out on the front lines. There are also lists of fruits and veg that should be organic versus those that…
  • This is great advice. In addition to this, I think it takes at least two weeks to adjust to a lower calorie eating plan. I was doing this religiously last year up until August - I've counted in my head since then and logged on here and there. Of course now I'm up a few lbs and I'm going strict again and I'm back at the…
  • I love a Nabisco honey graham (4 crackers or one sheet) with 1 tablespoon of natural no sugar added peanut better - total calories - 110. The peanut butter is filling and the cracker is sweet and I love peanut butter. Also - I sometimes have a mini-icecream sandwich. If I'm on a total sweets binge, I make sure to have…
  • I sprinkle a little of my favorite taco or fajita seasoning in the beans when I heat them.
  • Can you take a walk? That always helps me get through a tough craving - then you may actually make up the overage if you can go for a brisk walk. Also - get some sugar free gum, drink ice water - those are a couple of things I do (when I can - sometimes the craving wins though).
  • Seriously the Double BOB is the best for what you described - have you tried finding a used one (I know this is a tall order)? I used mine mostly for around town, down on teh beach, light jogging. It's so comfortable. Everyone who touches it comments on its ease and begs to be the "pusher" of the kids. BTW I have one I'm…
  • I love Turbokick or kickboxing and you may be able to find it on demand TV - there are usually good workouts on there. Jillian Michaels is a great workout too and she usually has a few free on demand if you have that option with your cable provider. I go to the gym but when the kids don't cooperate, I do it at home in…
  • Or switch your morning snack to between your lunch and dinner if you like to have your snack after dinner. Another idea is what I do with my food log: I have it setup for Breakfast, AM Snack, Lunch, PM Snack, Dinner, Late Snack. I end up eating the most of my calories at dinner most days but the rest of them are between…
  • There are certain things I must ban (b/c I cannot stop myself) but I do enjoy a sweet treat. FYI - when I started, I was addicted to sugary snacks and of course you learn fast that you cannot eat those things and be full, so I had to limit them. After about a week of not eating them, my sugar cravings dwindled…
  • My motto is to do what I can with what makes me happy, as long as it is still working. I prefer 3 meals and 3 snacks. I do usually eat more calories at dinner than any of the other. I've been consistently losing each week so I believe this is working for me now. If it ever stops working (ie - I don't lose weight), then…
  • Try circuit training and use the weights and reps to get your heart rate up so you do both for the 30 minutes. We have a 45 minute cardio sculpt class that I do that combines it - you do each body part and in between you jump rope, lunges, etc. for 2 minutes in between.
  • Maybe try Aleve instead - it is a muscle relaxer instead of Advil which is anti-inflammatory. It may relieve more of the pain and help the muscle relax a bit.
  • I love Peanut butter too and use the Harris Teeter Naturals Organic peanut butter - it's made with valencia nuts so they are a litlte sweeter than other varieties and it has no sugar added. My fav dessert is one sheet (4 crackers) graham crackers wtih 1/2 TB peanut butter - sounds really too simple to be that good but it's…
  • You could use this salsa on a veggie burger or turkey/chicken burger if you don't eat beef and it's delish! Per Serving: 330 31 12 30 8 7 This is a weight watcher's recipe and one I keep on hand for when I just want a burger. The tomato juice added to the extra lean beef gives it the moisture I miss from fuller fat beef.…

  • I am attempting vegetarian (not necessarily vegan) for the month of May and had a wonderful vegan dinner tonight: brown rice black beans sprinkle with jamaican jerk seasoning and top with mango salsa: Mango Cilantro Jalepeno seeded and chopped chopped red onion lime juice For breakfast you can try a cereal with Almond milk…

  • FYI - I am alloted 1200 calories per day as well b/c that is the minimum MFP will give but in my goals it says I am set to lose 1.3 lbs. per week (even though I would like to make it 2 lbs. per week). So, if I want to lose 2 lbs per week, I have to exercise (and use those calories as additional deficit to increase my…
  • mmm - i want to try this one!
  • Sargento light cheese sticks - 50 calories a piece. Also Breakstone 2% cottage cheese singles - they are good and salty and so yummy - 90 calories
  • My fav is the Maplegrove Farms Ginger Sesame Vinaigrette - 45 calories for 2 tbls - a little higher in sodium than others but that hasn't bothered me. It is so yummy!
  • I saw it and agree with pretty much all you've said. The shocker is a video (it almost looks like nightvision goggles) of Rulon (SP?) secretly eating something in his room. I have no idea - I'm sure it is something small but they've edited it to look so shocking! I wish Bob or Jillian would've given it to Kaley(SP?) with…
  • Any boxed cake mix and one can of pumpkin (use instead of oil, eggs and water). Mix it together (it will be sticky) and bake according to directions. The pumpkin adds only the wet side of the ingredients but no flavor - the cake tastes like cake and it's super moist and delish Frosting is tough - I'd look for a cream…
  • You had me at GLAZE which reminded me of this recipe which is from Prevention Magazine (where I've gotten most of my best healthy recipes). I cannot tell you how delish this is - it's just so yummy. It's not a balsamic glaze but the apple, honey soy mixture might win you over for a change. I highly recommend it. I am…
  • Chocolate Angel Food Cake I just made a Chocolate Angel Food Cake last night that was delish! I made it into cupcakes (which aren't too pretty but it would look pretty in a tube pan as it says to do). I served it with Rediwhip (15 calories for 2 TB) and it is really yummy. I made it into approximately 22 servings instead…
  • This sounds great - I'm going to try this this week! Thanks
  • Try berries - blueberries, strawberries and raspberries - I love them. Although, it'll cost ya but I feel like it's worth it because I love them so much.

  • Paneer Tikka Masala frozen meal is my favorite thing there - I have one close to me and I buy 5 - 10 at a time! It is a 330 calorie and has a fair amount of fat but it's so tasty - it's like a major indulgence for me so I really can build it into my day and feel like I'm not even watching what I eat!!!
  • I use a variety of websites for online recipes but I cannot stress to you how many recipes I've gotten from Prevention Magazine that are super healthy, low calorie foods and taste great. I have a subscription I got free and each and every issue has something in it I want to make, so maybe look for them online or get a…
  • I've heard the same thing and the one I eat (that tastes pretty good) is Kashi Heart to Heart which is 5 g sugar and 5 g fiber
  • I just built the recipe and here are the stats: Calories Carbs Fat Protein Fiber Calcium Total: 1320 124 46 120 32 29 Per Serving: 330 31 12 30 8 7
  • This is a weight watcher's recipe and one I keep on hand for when I just want a burger. The tomato juice added to the extra lean beef gives it the moisture I miss from fuller fat beef. Love, love, love the cilantro lime salsa on top. I need to build the recipe here to see stats Mexican Chili Beef Burgers 1 pound(s)…
