  • This is so true. I was getting frustrated by the lack of movement on my scale when I decided to go weed clothes out of my closet. Imagine my suprise and pleasure at finding out that my too tight pants now fit just right. I've only lost 13 pounds, but I'm down 2 sizes. I'll swear by that any day of the week! Screw the…
  • Wish I had the energy to do them in the morning. It's all I can do to get of bed in time to drag my *kitten* to the shower!! I do usually do 3 to 4 sits of 50 at night though. Does that count?
  • So agree!! Sometimes we (read me) get so stuck on what the scale says. A lot of being fit is not about how much you weigh but about how you feel. Nothing better than being able to button a pair of pants that were too tight or having to put on a belt because the pants won't stay on your waist!! Keep up the great work. You…
  • Agree with everyone above!! Have whatever you want--just in moderation. I am sure that you will burn enough calories for all of us with your extracurricular activities
  • As many have said, you look amazing in all 3, but I personally think you look extra fab in the pink!
  • So, my question is--why are you depriving yourself of foods that you like to eat? It only makes you want it more. So, I see--have a hamburger from McD's every once in awhile, or a piece of chicken from KFC. Your craving will be satisfied and you won't be jealous of what your co-worker is eating :) Just saying!!!!
  • You need to record the start time for your exercise, as well as the type and duration in MFP. You will then get accurate credit for the calories that you burned. You will still see a fitbit adjusment because you are always burning calories that aren't tied to a specific exercise. Hope this helps!
  • My God--I have a ton!!! Alias, LA Law, A Different World, Living Single, Silk Stalkings, and of course the aforementioned Xena and Hercules :)
  • It truly depends on the brand/cut of the clothes. I am 207 pounds and 5'7" and I generally wear an XL, but can fit into some L's. On the bottom I can wear M's and L's.
  • Thank you so much for sharing!!! That's exactly what I have been saying and has helped to keep me steady and sane on my journey. There will always be ups and downs, but overindulgence or deprivation are not the answers. Be proud, enjoy, and know that you have a heck of a lot of folks cheering for your success!!! Happy…
  • Definitely scheduling things makes it easier. I've committed to working out 5 days a week and on 4 of those 5 days I have a class that I pay for so I make sure that I don't miss! I only joined a gym that is midway between work and home so I have no excuse to just pass by :)
  • Don't know if you have a Wegmans in your area, but they have these air puff crisps called Cocoa Pops that are only 16 calories. They go great with hummus, peanut butter, or reduced fat cream cheese--and they are just great on their own if you just want some crunch. I always have a chocolate bar or Hershey kisses for the…
  • Quite frankly I hate it period when people feel the need to point out color--I have a name, it's Karen and that's who I am!!! But if I have to be "termed" then I would prefer being called black.
  • Coffee Mixed greens with dressing Reduced fat cheese sticks
  • All of the above... :) Seriously though--I have friends at work and we really push each other to be accountable even though we don't work out together. The gym that I joined is midway between work and home, so there's no excuse not to stop--especially since I'm paying for it. But the biggest motivation--this journey is all…
  • I started it today myself--using the treadmill. I started walking at 2.6MPH and then would bump it up to 2.8 for the jogging part. I got through it just fine so the next time I do it I will go just a bit faster, but all the instructions say start off very slow. Hope this helps!
  • Fiber One Brownies or 4 Hershey Kisses will kill my cravings :) But generally I leave enough room in my calories so that I can indulge when I want to!!
  • Probably nothing--but if I really just had to have a taste of something I would chew a piece of gum or have a piece of sugar free candy. Sometimes you just need a little flavor
  • What are you eating for breakfast? It might help if you structure your food choices differently. If you have a nice filling breakfast then maybe you won't be as tempted to snack so much in the afternoon. That being said, some of my snack choices are string cheese, peanut butter on crackers or low-cal bread, Wholly Salsa…
  • I switch it up between Multi-Grain Cheerio, Kellog's Chocolate Krave, or Grits. I'll even eat Lucky Charms or Golden Grahams. I just have the allocated portion size :)
  • Clothes: Lane Bryant, Sears, Macy's, Old Navy, Kohl's Bras: Was using the Cacique brand from Lane Bryant but now get Playtex bras through Hanes (either online or the Outlet) Shoes: DSW or the Shoe Dept. Workout clothes: Walmart, Olympia Sports, Champion Outlet I too am a clothes *kitten*, but I definitely shop the…
  • Just wanted to send you some encouragement and to tell you not to give it up. It's one day at a time my friend, and has many others stated, there are lots of things that you can do to strengthen your muscles without putting strain on your knees. You can lift weights while you are in front of the tv, do leg lifts while you…
  • I am in :) SW: 218.6 CW: 208.4 GW: 202 I am doing my goals in stages. So my first ultimate goal weight is 190. I will then evaluate how I look and feel and decide if I should do more! I just want to shop in a store and not be in the plus size section!
  • 2005 Hyundai Sonata--stick shift no less. I am free and clear of car payments so I am saving for another year and will probably get a Hyundai Tuscon! Oh I should add that I love my car and would highly recommend it to anyone. It rides well and gets great mileage!!
  • Two quick questions--do you use reduced fat PB and can you use steel-cut oats?
  • Addicted no, in a symbiotic relationship, YES :()
  • With you in spirit--I don't drink all that often anyway, but I have a wedding to go to and there is no way that I can go to that and be sober!!
  • As someone who actually enjoyed the first book, I must say that I still LMAO! on the review!!!! Definitely on point :)
  • I must confess that I haven't been to a really good concert in a long while--the last one was Janet and that's number 3 on my list. The first two were high school and college, but still memorable! Prince--actually lost my voice for a week after this one! The Jacksons (Victory Tour) Janet Jackson (oh and I have to add Boyz…
