Protein shake is my suggestion too. I use the spider cup. It's handy because the protein is stored in the cup at the bottom, and I just add/shake/drink during my lunch. It's really the only way I know how to get something in my stomach during that short, fast paced time period.

Great info! Thanks!

And thanks for your input, everyone! :-)

I'm not sure about the nutritionist's qualifications, but her recommendations go against everything I've learned here. When I went in and manually calculated my sister's RMR, it came to 1342, so very close to the actual test that yielded 1350. I went with the 1350 and figured out her TDEE based on her moderate activity…

Great ideas! Thanks! :-)

I started on the 15th! Today's workout kicked my butt. I was ready to rest during the warm-up! Still, I dug deeper and am hoping to stick with it for the whole program.

Great job! I can tell a big difference, especially in your face. You are doing a fantastic job!!

Chances are they are just really addicted to sugar in that case. Since it acts like heroin in the brain, it isn't as easy as simply putting it down. It takes a deep commitment and willpower. If looking in the mirror and struggling to fit into clothes, dealing with feelings of being looked down upon as a second class…

I can't comment personally on these because I only did a few days of P90X (did lose 7 lbs that week after being on a plateau though - just didn't make time for it) and only a couple days of 30 Day Shred. However, my husband is starting is 6th week of Insanity, and he is pretty pleased with the results he's getting. I'm…

Since posting this, I found out that our Kroger scale offers body fat. It was not consistent when I tried it. I did find out that a local gym does have one of the Bodpods, and they charge $20 for non-members. I'm going to schedule an appointment soon to see how different the readings are from my own calculations.

I'm not a big veggie eater either, but I'm learning to like them. One of my favorites is sauteeing kale in some coconut oil with minced garlic, sea salt, and pepper and mixing in a few tablespoons of shredded parmesan cheese. It's really good, and you really taste the cheese over everything else. You could sautee a few big…

Wow! You are all so helpful and gave me so much great advice! I carry all my fat in my stomach, so that goes back to all the posts about fruit possibly contributing to that visceral fat. I like the 1:1 ratio idea. It seems if I have to eat more veggies to justify that orange or whatever, the better off I'll be. I also like…

I agree! I was eating way too much refined sugar, and I knew I was so addicted. I figured this was the best way to re-kick the habit!

Welcome to the challenge!

I feel so much better today. I'm really glad we are doing this challenge. I love looking at my food log and not seeing anything at all bad on there.

Yay! Thank you so much for posting this! I was interested in Stronglifts and had no idea where to start!

You're doing so great!!!! Keep up the good work! You look fantastic!

Thanks for the tip! I'll look into it!

I can't believe I've stuck to it all day! My son got a huge ice cream cone, and usually my treat is to take a few big bites, but I didn't. That's a big victory for me! My head is hurting tonight though. I'm not sure if it's because of the challenge or what, but I know it'll pass regardless. I'm really happy to be doing…

I've fallen off the wagon the past couple of days (or maybe past few days), so I think this challenge is just what I need. It'll be tough, but I'm ready! :-)

I can relate to how you're feeling. I've been trying pretty hard the past 6 months with no real progress. It is very frustrating! All I can say is hang in there, no matter how depressing it gets because the end result will be worth it. I say it to you and hopefully I'll listen to my own advice!

Thanks for the input! I need to find out where to get weighed underwater. That sounds cool!

You look GREAT! :-)

I mentioned The Warrior Diet, but I really don't know much about it except it goes along with intermittent fasting. Here's a link if you want to learn more about it: http://practicallist.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/The-Warrior-Diet-Fat-Loss-Plan.pdf

I can totally relate to this. When I try to break my eating up into smaller meals, I always go over. However, if I adopt more of a "Warrior Diet" plan (20 hour fast, 4 hour eating window), I do great. My hunger is manageable until I eat something. A big meal satisfies it, but those mini meals just make me feel so much…

So very awesome!
