:drinker: Cheers to you!

I mix it up. Classes some days, the pool on others, the gym on others. So far the only thing I haven't done is work out in my apartment.

This actually happens with a lot of things in life. I spoke with a PhD student today who finished and passed his qualifiers (meaning he is almost ready to graduate, it's a huge milestone) and he felt let down. He thought he would feel this amazing weight lift from his shoulders having achieved his goal, but it never did.…

bump (sorry for bumping, but sounds yummy!)

I love that my body can *move*. This past weekend I performed a high-energy traditional Japanese dance in an Asian New Year Festival showcase. It was amazing.

Buy yourself a tea kettle and some tasty herbal or fruit teas. Warm drink, so it fills you up and curbs your cravings. Has a taste, so it's like you're treating yourself when you're not. 0 Calories, and you can drink as much as you want!

This would be true, if people on MFP were actually friends. If we had any non-MFP interaction at all, and actually were considered "friends," then I would be controlling. As it is, people send me requests to be friends, and I add them. Technically they are "friends," but I know nothing about them other than what they eat…

Find something else to fill the void. I walk into my house and make a hot cup of tea!

Good luck!

And for the record, those of you referring to me as a control freak as using the term inaccurately. con·trol freak Noun A person who feels an obsessive need to exercise control and to take command of any situation. The only thing I seek to control in this situation is my MFP news feed. I don't warn my friends that they'll…

All, Life does happen. I absolutely agree. People go on vacation, family members get sick. I don't look down on those who are away for three days, and I don't expect people to cheer me on. I'm surprised at the assumptions many jumped to about this. I'm not saying that people who do not log in or lazy, or unforgivable. It's…

Hell no. It was awful. I was the weird kid who liked to read and liked to do homework, so I was pretty much screwed. But I do miss college. My friends are scattered throughout the US now. I wish we could all be back together again!

Hope. Rick is losing it, I'll think he'll snap.

I hate to say it, but I think I'd be a Slytherin. I'm resourceful, intelligent, and am always looking for ways to improve or advance myself. Plus, my zodiac sign is a snake. It just makes sense. My boyfriend is a Hufflepuff though, so he evens out my Sly Slytherin side. :)

SO MUCH THIS.

I hated Lydia so much that I turned into a werewolf to kill her, then ate her. That's what she gets for being so snotty.

I would double check your calorie intake. You may be eating too little; I think your BMR (how much your body burns at rest) may be higher than 1250. The general consensus on the MFP boards is that for best results users calculate their TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) and eat 15-20% fewer calories. Here's more info on…

Bump this for future reference. After my modest loss of 11 pounds, I'm surprised by how angular my face is. I keep thinking "geez, has my chin always been that big?"
-
I was all about this, but then my boyfriend got me a box of Whitman's with a teddy bear. :3 So a little chocolate... but only six pieces.
-
Most of that I agree with, but I also think that doing anything is better than doing nothing!
-
Healthiest: Spinach and feta cheese Unhealthiest: Frozen chicken wings from Super Bowl. So far I haven't had the desire to finish them off yet, though!
-
Ha! Bump for future bragging rights.

I don't know, I think I would find that rude if I were sitting at the machine, especially if it was only 20 minutes. If he was there for an hour I'd tell him to scram. :P
-
I think you really need to calculate your BMR and your TDEE. I think you're starving yourself! Your body, based on your weight, burns at least 1500 calories at rest in one day. No wonder you're snacking. You're hungry. Search for TDEE calculator, and then try and eat TDEE -20%. You'll eat more, feel better, and will be…

My boyfriend. He's not dieting, but he started running when I started swimming and tracking my calories. He hit five miles the other day without stopping! I've always been competitive, so I'm working to keep up at the very least.
-
I'd get something and eat half, then save the rest for lunch another day.
-
Um... what are the big three? I don't lift, maybe that's why I'm oblivious. ^_^
-
This. There's a difference between packing in the calories before a lifestyle change, and getting enough after beginning that journey. I struggle to eat my TDEE -20%, because when I eat quality food I'm not hungry enough to eat all of those calories. But my body still needs them. Sorry if you're struggling with your…

Once you get out of college, you'll realize how easy college actually was. I'm in Grad School now, have twice as much academic work, and work 65 hours a week outside of that. You have the time to do it; whether or not you actually do is up to you. I say that as someone who made excuses throughout my college experience.…

Thanks everyone! :)
