  • I bought the Garmin 405cx gps/hrm for my daughter for Christmas. She loves it. Not only does she know what she is burning but while she is on her long run, she can't get lost because it has the gps in. She runs marathons in different states, so I guess that's a plus but it was pricey.
  • I didn't realize that we have the spelling police on this website. Who is anyone to judge, especially when you don't know people's curcumstances. We are here to help and encourage in their weight loss journey. If you don't like the way people spell, don't read it.

  • I'm going to be 53 in May. I started on mfp November 2011 and lost 38 lbs by June 2011. I slacked off from June 2011 until December 27, 2011. From the time I stopped I never went on the scale. I had everything I learned from this site in my head which I continued to watch how I ate. I was going to the gym 5x a week at that…
  • Feel free to add me, I just recently got back into the exercising on January 1st and I'm highly motivated.
  • Zumba depends on how much you put into. I go to Zumba 3x a week and most people in the class burn around 500 calories in an hour with their hrm.
  • Bump

  • What a beautiful post to wake up to. Thanks for the encouragement and wish you the best with your goals.
  • I go to Zumba 3x a week and love it. You definetely burn a lot of calories and to me it doesn't feel like exercise. My gym keeps adding classes because the claases are all full.

  • I feel the same way. I told someone today that I need them out of my house. My favorite is thin mints and I keep grabbing 2 at a time. I bought 2 boxes of thin mints and lots of samoas. I won't eat the samoas but I keep grabbing the thin mints. I guess I will be doing extra time at the gym the rest of the week and probably…
  • Hi, I'm 51 and had 6 children ranging from 27 down to 11. I myself had a hard time for 2 years losing weight even though I was eating healthy and going to the gym faithfully 5 days a week. No matter what I did the weight would not budge. As soon as I got through menopause the weight started coming off. I started MFP this…
  • The first thing I would do is make sure you have a good pair of running shoes. I had that problem for months and I went to a running store and got the proper footwear and I never got them again. I hope this information is helpful.
  • Try putting in circuit training.
  • My only advice is keep watching your calories and exercise. I'm finished now and the weight is coming off. I too also had the same problem. I was dieting and at the gym everyday and never lost a pound but I probably could have gained a ton more but I didn't. It is very frustrating but I promise you when you are done it…
  • Great job, been on this site for 5 weeks and I think it is amazing. You will love reading about everyone's accomplishments because it is an inspiration. You will succeed because there is a lot of support.
  • You look amazing and have a lot to be proud of. I have a very good friend that I know for over 38 years that has been trying to lose weight and I told her about you. I joined mfp and got her to sign up but hasn' gone on yet. I told her this would help her but she is not listening. I wish I could be able to forward your…
  • Get through with your finals, It's very stressful, start again when you can bet really focused, you will be amazed how good you do. I have a daughter in grad school and one who is a sophmore in college going through finals herself. When you get focused after all your test are done, you will be amazed on how much you can…
  • Go to a foot doctor. I had terrible pain for a long time. I walked 5 miles a day and I got to the point my feet were killing me. Went to dr. and I had heal spurs. Wound up getting surgeyr in April and when I was able to walk again I told them my feet were still killing me. He asked if I was wearing my orthotics and I told…
  • I had the same problem, and heel spurs are agony. I had three on one foot. The first year I went to a foot doctor and they game me a shot of cortisone and measured me for orthodics which I have to wear all the time. The second year they did surgery for two of them but they couldn't touch one because where it was located.…
  • Change it up, do different exercises. Maybe don't eat as much fiber. Your body get use to things. You have to fool your metabolism. Don't give up, you maybe losing inches.
  • I do that on Friday's because I go to happy hour and don't get in the house to late. I do Friday night on Saturday morning. I really don't want to because I know how bad was because I take Friday's off from the gym and my diet. The reason I put everything down is because it reminds me how bad I was and reminds me if I…
  • I gained over 30lbs in the last two years. I go to the gym regular and can't lose a pound. If I do lose, it comes back immediately. It's starting to get harder and harder to go to the gym and not seeing any results. I never had a problem losing weight before but it just seems like nothing is working. I spent so much money…
