  • I started with proper nutrition (logging food) and T25, 30 day shred, and C25K. At my heaviest I couldn't run and it hurt to walk anything more than 2 miles. Now I love running and run 18-20 miles a week. I still log all of my food and now have changed my goal from weight loss to a half marathon. 3 times a week, on top of…
  • I haven't been on here for a while. I'm not gaining but I'm still not quite where I want to be so decided to come back and start logging again. This forum is great inspiration! Left side - June 2013 - right side - a few weeks ago
  • I remember those days..... mine are those because my first goal was running 5k without walking - i did it in about 32 minutes and texted most everyone i knew! then breaking 30 minutes was awesome too! way to go - congrats! i still pace around 29:30 to 30 for my normal runs when I go to a race i'm in the low 28's - haven't…

  • When I was getting my free shirt after a 5k the lady asked me, "medium?" - I wanted to give her a hug. and Last week at a store a clerk told me about a great deal on a clearance belt. Size 30. I said that's too small, she said she's trying to ask all the small guys to see if they want it. 1 year ago I was barely fitting…
  • That's what i love about running. There are no coaches, no trainers, no-one to make you push. That feeling you got today doesn't go away. The voices change but don't go away....every run is a victory. Enjoy!
  • I see this a lot ... seems to be the industry standard. I myself have lost nearly 90 pounds in the past year eating a calorie deficit and put on a good deal of muscle. so i'm a bit skeptical of this statement
  • A doctor would be able to tell you much more than any advice here. Did you mention this to the doctor? As asked how is your blood work? Orthostatic hypotension? So many variables that if you take any advice other than your doctors, it should be from another doctor.
  • are you running 18 minute mile without walking?
  • I just started running in January - I walked and rode my bike prior but couldn't handle running to start. I trained for my first 5k on May 10 and got up to the 3.1 distance in my runs shortly before. Since then I was doing 3.1 3-4 times a week. Now I feel I have to move forward to prevent from going backwards so I'm…
  • that's awesome!! I hope to work up to that as well - 10k in my crosshairs now. That's a great accomplishment and you should be very proud!
  • that's awesome! it gets easier from there
  • nice...congrats! I am actually excited to go to an amusement park again as I was possibly in the same boat. I never had been turned away but had gotten to the size where I didn't even try....out of fear of embarrassment. So for the past several years I just wouldn't go. I love coasters! Happy for you.
  • I'm 37 and started the end of July last year. In the 10 months I've lost about 80 pounds and went from a 36.6 BMI to now I'm finally in the "normal" BMI range. I'm beginning to add calories so my weight doesn't drop too much more but I still have some flab to tone up. I was eating 1200-1400 calories a day and now will be…
  • Awesome success!

  • Thanks guys! It's good that I know how to eat better and have been doing well, even without logging.....but I've been maintaining and not losing. Logging helps keep me accountable, even on days that I have an IPA or three.
