Edamame is a great way to add fiber to your diet. You can buy it frozen or the roasted kind. It also contains a nice amount of protein.

For a healthy snack that will feel like a cheat: Slice up an apple Spread PB thinly on top Sprinkle with what you like. Some ideas: chopped walnuts or almonds, dark chocolate chips, shredded coconut.

60-80 net carbs a day would be sufficient to help with weight loss, per my doctor. Maybe you are eating TOO low carb?

I've had the same experience. Carpets cause the scale to get off balance. It's best to weigh on a smooth flat surface.

And mushrooms! 1 cup for 24 calories and 8 grams of protein. I saute them in olive oil spray and add them to everything.

I just asked my doctor about it today. She is a vegetarian like me. She said there is nothing wrong with eating soy. She even said TVP isn't bad for you. I eat soy everyday and I don't worry about it. I figure there are worse things I could eat :happy:

Some vegetarian soy products are better than others. You can buy organic non GMO tofu. You can do Atkin's if you are vegetarian but it will be really tough. I tried it and found that a healthy vegetarian diet that includes whole grains is better. Just my own experience though :wink:

I'm happy I have so many responses to my post, but I'm sorry so many people struggle with the same issue! I've decided to focus on eating healthy foods and exercising, not worrying so much about logginh and weight loss for now.

Thank you all for your input. It sounds like most of you use routine and exercise to get you through. I did exercise last night and thought it helped, but then earlier today I went right back into my slump. Maybe exercising again tonight will help :)

I have been vegetarian for 14 years, for ethical reasons. I have many favorite meals! Hummus wraps, tofu stir fry, etc.
