Greetings. I have been using intermittent fasting along with eating Keto for nearly two months. Usually, I eat just one meal a day, but sometimes, maybe once a week, I'll throw in an extra 24 hours of fasting to make a nearly 48 hour fast. I'm happy with my results to this point; I'm down over 30 lbs. Plus, I like how I…

Well Done, Merph!

I've been enjoying all the posts here and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Dan, I'm 66, and I've been with MFP for 9 years. I lost 90 lbs in 2017, but gained most of it back while sitting in a chair for the past 16 months recovering from 4 surgeries on my feet. My right foot was reconstructed and then 6-8 weeks later the…

Yes, welcome back. It's great that you and your daughter will have each other for support. Both my big sister and little sister are here with me. I'm 66 and starting back after being out of commission for 16 months. If you're looking for more support, you're welcome to add me. Best of luck to you.

Yes. You are not alone. I've been here off and on for 9 years. I've started again as of September 1st with 110 lbs to lose. If you're looking for friends, I'm right here.

Hello, My name is Dan and I'm 66 years old. I've been here at MFP for nine years. I just began again on September 1st. I started Keto 6 days ago and I'm doing well. I have an open Diary, and I'm looking for a few good friends to support.

Hello. I'm Dan. I'm new to this group, but I've been a member of MFP for 9 years. In December of 2017, I had lost over 90 lbs of the 120 lbs I needed to reach my goal. As it turns out, I wish I hadn't given away all my big clothes. In May of 2018, I had the first of 4 surgeries on my feet. One at a time, each foot was…

That's fantastic! I received my blood test results yesterday and posted my similar story. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1184172-1st-blood-test-after-eating-low-cab-high-fat It's a great feeling, isn't it!! Congrats!

I agree that it looks like you've lost more than just 25 lbs. Remember that you're doing this for YOU. You're doing GREAT. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations, Alana! You have done SO well. You should be proud of yourself.

Thank you, Tim. That is an excellent read.

The numbers are based on a weight of .9 g/ml for adipose tissue, or body fat.

Water weighs a little more per gallon than fat so it would be 12 gallons of water, but YES! What wonderful success you've had! You're an inspiration!

This is adipose tissue, or body fat.

As several people have already mentioned, Eat fewer carbs and more fat. I used to have horrible cravings that would cause me to binge and sabotage my weight loss efforts. But, since I've been eating Low Carb/High Fat, not only do I no longer have cravings, I now have to remind myself that, even though I'm not hungry, I…

If you limit you calories as well, what will happen is you will lose weight, probably fairly quickly in my opinion. The reasons for going "relatively" low carb are the same reasons for going as low carb as possible. I have my carb percentage set to 5%, which is 19g for me. I often go over that number, but I try not to go…

I find that Dr. Oz's advice often contradicts his advice from previous episodes.

I was pre-diabetic, too. I believe the answer is eating Low Carb, High Fat. It's working for me. I recommend reading "Grain Brain" and/or "Wheat Belly".

I've been eating Low Carb/High Fat for about a month now. I've been Wheat, Gluten, Starch, and Sugar free. I have my diary set at 1,500 Calories, 75%F, 20%P, 5%C. (Do you know how to set your diary?) If I go a little over on carbs, I don't worry about it. But I always stay under 30g. Eventually(another couple of months?),…

How much protein have you been eating for breakfast? There're so many doctors and nutritionists saying "eat plenty of protein for breakfast" that there must be something to it. I can say from my own experience that eating a good amount of protein first thing in the morning has worked well for me.

Welcome Anndrea. You've made a great decision to join MFP. I know something about dealing with physical limitations. I'm happy to hear you are able to do something about your knee. You have a great attitude and I know you'll do well here. If you don't mind that I'm a guy and I'm old, you're welcome to add me.

You should be proud of what you've accomplished. Thanks for the inspiration.
