  • Got a 28 bottle I take to work. Usually gets refilled twice a day, when I have the free time. Usually 11 cups of water a day. That's exactly how I do it. See above, I do that. As said, some folks pointed out 'vague' items, those are actually just non-published meal recipes I put together using exact ingredients and parted…
  • Okay, that was whole LOT of replying in one post, so summing up what I got: 1. Less focus on Quick Calories. Good for small bouts (like adding up for missing calories), but shouldn't be so heavily relied on. 2. Plan better on weekends. They need to be logged, not estimated over number crunching. 3. Watch Sodium now, and…
  • All those 'vague' entries are my recipes. All of them with every ingredient added and proportioned for serving sizes. So yes, those arn't really guesstimates. Technically I run my numbers every 10 lbs. I do 20% off my TDEE, which is, with a desk job, about 2400. This is based off BMR, TDEE, and Body Fat % through Fat 2 Fit…
  • Truth be told, I did the corrections, the amounts ... maybe 6 or 7 max, deal is I don't cut paper thin outta the loaf. If I'm gonna have a meatloaf, have a nice slice. But to make sure i'm not over doing it, I need to make sure how much each slice is. That's another big deal with doing this is figuring out an appropriate…
  • I had a feeling the MFP site was a bit more accurate than others, it was just the discrepency between them was getting a little overwhelming. I usually just go with the fat within the content since the difference is usually minimal. Thanks for the recepie, I'll give it a shot sometime. I usually made twice that much due to…
  • That's what brought up this situation. MFP and other sites seem to have different ideas and calculations. To a point, a reliable location or calculator would be helpful. Same ingredients. Same quantities. Different answers from everyone. See where thigns get a little confusing? This isn't just maybe 100 - 150 calorie…
  • I got the 11:30AM to 8PM Shift, during my lunches, I take 15 minutes to eat, then 15 minutes to take a brisk walk around the work place. Feels good, loose 100 calories, and wakes you up.
  • http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 Its a good idea to give it a good read. Even if its not for you, its something to think about. Hate sounding like I'm advertising, but its because of the guidelines here, I boosted my weightloss to this point.
  • Learned that lesson a while back. The numbers you see are for 235 lbs. Once I reach 230, I'll be recalculating them.
  • There is some flexibility to that pending on your Body Fat. Though you are correct, it suggests eating at BMR, no lower, or to 20% lower than your TDEEE. (Those with higher rates of obesity can push it to 30%). 2097 is my TDEE - 20%. Just below BMR.
  • Don't get me wrong, I didn't REGRET eating a single bite of it. Aaaand I was a sucker for trying the new McDonald's Dulce De Leche milkshake. Tasted great. :D
  • Last bump. Promise. Just trying to get as much feedback as I can.
  • *Bumps* A little more feedback is appreciated. I'm sure there's more to say.
  • Bare in mind I only do Body Weight. I'm not using any other weights (Save my cats, both 10 lbs, but they don't take too kindly to it.) So what would you suggest? Slow down the exercise and move it to say... 3 sets of 5?
  • Both exercises, on estimate, burn 100 calroies.
  • One I have yet still to tell, but found it funny as all heck (after the fact). I got a favorite pair of jeans, big ones. however, despite weightloss, I still wear them. Normally, I could still wear them just fine. However, two months ago, I was in no mood to cook, so ran down the block to McDonalds to grab something (those…
  • You realize folks were trained messengers back then right? It wasn't a matter of a weakest link, he was just the best at getting messages from point A to point B, as were several others. If it wasn't him, it'd be someone else. Point is, he wasn't running away from anything, he was doing his duty. Coward: No. Failure: No.…
  • May need a better example than this. Pheidippides was a messenger from Athens who was ORDERED to make the run to Sparta to request for reinforcements for the incoming battle with the Persians. His run took him a day, arriving the very next day. Seeing how the Spartans and Athenians were on shakey relations, I'd say he had…
  • Height: 5'7" Age/Gender: 29/m Body Fat: 30% Highest weight: 270 lbs Lowest Weight: 210 lbs (24) Current Weight: 235 lbs Goal Weight: 200 lbs (for now)
  • Try adding it to your daily routine. I have a 3.5 cup water bottle I take to work every day an drain before lunch. I have flavored water at lunch that boosts it up to 2 cups, then I have another 2.5 at dinner of crystal light (I'm a recovering soda-aholic, so I replaced all my sodas with flavored water). It practiaclly…
  • That's not unexpected. Some of us tend to enjoy the strain and feeling after, but its not everyone's cup of tea. Admitedly, you're not doing anything WRONG with what you're mentioning either. You walk your dogs (take it at a leaisurely pace, 2.5 MPH for an hour is great), kids are great calorie burners (took care of my 2…
  • PIZZA! Don't be too quick to say no to Pizza. In truth, while unbalanced most of the time, Pizza is NOT a calorie killer. Slices can range from 140 to 280 a slice. In truth, the biggest issue of Pizza is not the pizza itself, but eating slice after slice without regard for moderation. At 1500 left? You could fit 3 slices…
  • Subtract the kids and spouse and you have my situation. I was reaching a hefty 270 lbs, and needed to make a turn around. I work 9 hours a day (including commute) with odd hours (11:30AM to 8PM job). Busting tail on this effort is not an easy thing to do, but it can be done. I started in November 2012, and since I've…
  • I'll hafta give that a shot. Thanks.
  • I saw a few differing arguments over the nutritional value on a few sites. I could be wrong and just stick to the site for information, it just feels like automated taking no account into preparation (for example I drain the grease and fat that cooks off the beef or turkey.)
  • Huh, I'll try that. Never gave that thought before. Usually the site was my only place to log.
  • Yay for lunch breaks. So yeah, surprising change in numbers. I remember last I checked those numbers I was around 240-245 ... now? BMR: 2029 TDEE: 2621 Calorie Goal: 2097 Now that's a pretty serious change. That's going with a 20% deficit on my TDEE. I -could- boost it to 30% and keep the goal to 1835 a day. Regardless, my…
  • Its been interesting with all these ideas, from a jumpstart to 'fooling'. Everyone here knows not everything works for everyone, but sometimes breaking the habit works. Though I'm a strong believer there are no 'tricks' to losing weight, I have been proven wrong before. However, I'd have to do a little research to see if…
  • Funny you mentioned that, but I was doing that this week. Today, if I got time at home. The last update to the numbers was about three months ago. I was sitting at 240 at the time.
