chop up any mixture of zucchini, carrots, sweet potatoes, parsnips, beets & butternut squash. Add 1/2-1 tsp extra virgin olive oil and some italian seasoning, roast in the oven stirring every once in a while!! Add 3-4 oz of chicken breast, pork loin chop or some other lean protein and you're set to go---it's under 350…

He's 10, I don't think he should have to worry about calories! As an adult, you buy groceries and can pack his lunch or prepare healthy snacks. You make the choices. Not him. He should worry about being a kid and playing. I'm sure he understands an apple is good and a chocolate bar is bad. Only put good choices in front of…

I think that if he has other intersts--as you mentioned sports, encourage him there to play and do his best. If he has other physical interests outside of that ie. swimming, riding his bike, just playing outside etc. Encourage him that way and participate with him. Support any activity he wants to do and make it a family…

I am so excited for you!! I have a similar success story and would love to be here to support you!! I was very young (19) when I got married. My husband and me tried for three years to get pregnant with no luck!! I was diagnosed with PCOS and after multiple tests I was told that I would be unable to concieve. My marriage…

After watching the documentary 'Supersize me' and then reading this quotation in a weight loss blog--I know that Canada's numbers are similar. So now I'm going to rant--and please bear with me! IF you love your children, please, be conscious of what you put in their bodies!! You are the adult, YOU buy the groceries and YOU…

I think it's better to come up with your own shakes--with plain non fat greek yogurt plus some fresh fruits and veggies. Slim Fast has a LOT of sugar, little protein or any other real nutritional value. 1 serving of kirkland plain, nonfat greek yogurt has 18 g of protein already--add some blueberries, strawberries and 1/2…

If I eat any white sugar or white carbs now, I crave it--for days after!! Sometimes I find it`s easier not to have cheat days or cheat meals because any processed stuff or white sugar is blech. I used to load my coffee with white sugar and cream or full fat milk--now I use almond milk + cinnamon and it is delicious!

I was told that I couldn`t get pregnant with my PCOS. My husband at the time and I started trying and after 3 years we had no luck. I started losing weight, went back to school and planned a life for myself without children. Things didn`t work out between my husband and me and I moved on. I hit a plateau with my weight…

Yes!! I noticed a huge difference!! I lost 80 pounds before getting pregnant with my twin daughters--I ate white potatoes, white bread etc and it took me 2 years to lose that. I was doing weigth watchers but I didn`t follow a clean eating diet or a low gi diet or anything, I just stayed under my `points``. I didn`t pay…

I would have the plain nonfat greek yogurt with berries and drizzle 1 tsp of honey on it for a natural sugar source---or blend it up into a smoothie with some fruit!!

My twin girls Isabella and Mackenzie are 6 1/2 months right now!! I gained 60 pounds while I was pregnant with them, they were born at 35.5 weeks naturally, without a C-section!! Isabella was 6.8 and Mackenzie was 6.4--and I was huge!! I was unable to nurse and didn't understand or learn about pumping and consistency with…

Stick to water. I think that if your great grandparents didn't eat or drink it, stay away from it--they're the ones who lived to 100!!
