I have a friend who carries a little ziplock bag of peanuts/cashews/baby carrots etc. and she pulls it out whenever she is in these situations. It reaffirms the notion she is taking care of herself and she is also eating something in a social setting. You might also want to suggest to your colleagues that they include a…

Congrats! It is those NSVs that keep us going!

The best reward will be looking at yourself in the mirror! I like your reward system, though. I have been buying clothes, maybe a nice pair of jeans or a shirt every 3-4 weeks...and belts, lots of belts, because everything is loose.

That makes sense! Thanks!

Yes please, would you explain NSV and SV? Congrats, BTW.

I do too, just to make sure I am on track and not gaining again. I used to ignore the scale and the pounds crept up.

I am 5 10, 43 YO, lost 28 pounds in about 8 months, with around 1500 calories per day, walking 20-30 minutes daily. Right now I have reduced to 1270, because I had been misbehaving and needed to get back into the routime.

If you are walking or running, fit bit records it. If you do other stuff, like lifting, aerobics, swimming, etc. you need to record it. I just walk so it has not been an issue for me.

It has worked for my husband and for me. Forgot to mention we have fit bit zips. It keeps me moving during the day and in the evening so I just don`t get home and veg.

am lactose intolerant, but I really don`t like soy or almond milk, so it is Lactaid-fat free milk for me. I have 1-1 1/2 cups a day, with coffee, tea or cereal.

I read somewhere that exercising helps curb the cravings as well as help maintain weight. Hubby quit smoking in January, two packs a day, and has lost 10 pounds since then, by exercising and using MFP to control calorie intake. You will feel some withdrawal symptoms but hang in there, it can be done.

I would set aside a few dollars a week in order to save for the jeans. I have spent that amount on one pair of jeans that fit me sooooo nicely 40 pounds ago, but are sitting in a drawer right now. Make sure you will wear them for a while, but not if you are still not at your goal weight.

It is ok if they don't carry larger sizes at the store, but the staff doesn't have to be mean about it. I once went into Anne Klein Loft and one salesperson was so snotty about not carrying my size that I will not go into those stores again.
