  • Did you eat over 10,500 calories over your burned calories? No? Then you did not gain 3 pounds of fat! Your body fluctuates a couple of pounds everyday. You can do this, but it will not be in one week!
  • @Dianedoessmiles1 I found a couple extra socks in my load of laundry. Are they yours? (Yes, it took my THIS long to fold.
  • @bookieNJ I have 3 loads to fold, and one more to wash.

  • Let yourself have a treat once in awhile so you don't feel deprived, BUT plan for it. Candy bar craving? Get a mini size. Cake? mini cup cake. THEN I call it the 'Pay the Piper Plan'. Indulge in that 300 calorie treat BUT you must pay the piper either in calories burned or fat gained. So that day, pick EXTRA activities to…
  • Work on toning and strengthening muscles! You will lose inches and carry yourself better. You could go down a dress size (or two).
  • Go online BEFORE you go out. Choose your dinner with a back up alternative. You won't even need to look a the menu and be tempted. OR ask the waiter/waitress if they have a suggestions for lighter fare or luncheon versions. Many restaurants now have an icon for fit and trim meals. Some even now post calories on the menu.
  • Go out and buy vegetables. Eat as much as you want until you are not hungry. Plan a week's worth of meals staying at 1200 calories per day, then add as much salad as you want - no dressing. Keep eating salad or vegetables - celery is great - until the hunger pains go away.
  • check out Dr Oz Jorge Cruise's 5 minute crazy workout.
  • http://www.juststand.org/tabid/637/default.aspx I found this website where you input your weight and minutes spent standing during the day. It gives you the calorie burn.
  • Yes, standing burns more calories than sitting or sleeping, but in general it is worked into your calorie needs for the day.
  • If you must weigh in daily remember, the scale does NOT only weigh fat, it also weighs bones, clothes, stomach contents, organs, water, and waste. You did not gain 5 pounds of fat overnigt, nor did you lose it.
  • no no no. never tell others how to eat! If they weigh more than you they will be offended and tell you you are fat-bashing. If they weigh less than you, they will insult your size. Don't even give strange looks. If asked, just say looks delicious. Remember, that some people don't want to eat it, but can't resist. Still…
  • I see from your ticker that you lost over 10% - that's the point where people start noticing. I have had friends see me and just said "Wow. You lost weight." (40 pounds in 6 months) My Sister-in-law's family snubbed me at the latest niece's birthday party. They range from severely overweight to morbidly obese. I didn't…
  • Quick estimation for break even calorie intake is "weight" times 11. 152 times 11 equals 1672 calories estimated to BREAK even, NOT gain. You will need to net below that to lose weight. 350 below every day (1323) will lose 3 pounds per month. IF you count accurately.
  • I believe, the average American Woman is size 12. I went from a loose size 18 to a comfortably snug size 10. Categorically, I am overweight for another 9 pounds. Due to the width of my ribs and thigh bones I will probably never fit into a size 8 and I am fine with that.
  • At 160 pounds, my burn averages out to the following: sleeping 1 cal per minute warm-up 2.5 cal per minute light exertion 4 cal per minute moderate exertion (breathing heavy, can talk) 6 cal per minute vigorous exertion 9 cal per minute for 1st 30 minutes; 12-15 cal per minute after 30 minutes.

  • I have dogs that are chewers. Confine him to one room - I usually use the bathroom, take out any bath rugs etc.. Put in his bedding, food, & water bowl. Leave a Nylabone and /or one or two Kong toys in that room. Any shape, appropriate size. Nylabone and Kong are the most durable. Pick up a product called Bitter Apple (or…

  • I have severe hypothyroidism. I lost 30 pounds in 9 months, then hit a plateau and haven't lost in 5 months. After about a month you should be better able to judge what your body needs.
