  • For many who are just starting out or for those who have mentionned being at home with little ones finding it hard to burn extra calories and relying (hope that spell right I`m french) on housework to burn some extra calories here is an idea... You could invest in those wrist and ankle weights and strap them home while…
  • "Exercise is boring for me" If you have the means, I would suggest you join a class of some sort. The social aspect of it helps keep you going and the group usually will motivate each other to keep going. You could find a low aerobic class for starters or anything that peeks your interest..Don`t go it alone if keeping up…
  • Give yourself a break today , enjoy the day and remember a very important key word "Moderation" if you allow yourself a sliver of ice cream cake you will be less tempted to cheat later.. Fruits and veggies but be carefull fruits can start adding calories as well. Drink water instead, allow for the extra cals today and if…

  • I think the numbers are both right...You need to figure out how many calories a day you would need to consume to stay at your current weight (web calculator would tell you this) and then to lose 1 lb per week you would reduce that number by 500 calories per day or 3500 per week. Hope that help.
  • Hi from Ontario...Welcome
  • To make thinks differant more often, if you have a local library nearby, you could borrow work out DVD`s . That way you could try the kind you want before spending money only to find out it`s not really your style.
  • I have set my goal at 4/45 minutes session per week . Anything else is a bonus but I feel that 4x is the minimum I want. My work outs usually end up being between 45-60 minutes of cardios on days I do cardios only, and a combiantion of cardio to warm up and cool down and 25 minutes average of strength training. It`s true…
  • I am lucky as I am now at a place in my life where I could be a stay at home mom, except there is no kids to stay at home with as they are both teenagers in highschool so I took a job part-time from 7am-12noon . They wanted me full time but I realised that in order to have a healthier lifestyle , being the busy most nights…
  • This morning I felt frustrated about the lack of weightloss :grumble: :explode:   that scale and not much differance in lost inches..Then I realised that I had miscalculated the total inches lost by a full inch the last time I measured:mad: I suck at math:grumble: and it should have been an 8.5 inches lost not…
  • Hey I work in a donut shop and i`m told I can take a dozen home for free /week:sad: I`m sure I`m going to give in to temptation sooner then later:grumble: This week was my first week and Thank goodness I only work 5 hrs/day so that I can make working out a priority cause i`m sure I would gain 3 lbs /week! I have not eaten…
  • I have the same issue...I usually post a note that says the amount of time I did strength training but I have noticed that while you list strength training , it doesn`t acount for the time and therefore tellms me I haven`t met my goal... • I dread the step climber :grumble: but I always feel so good afterwards as I get the most bang for my buck and then I keep thinking how firm my "buttucks" (said in a Forest Gump kinda voice) are going to be
  • i`m proud of myself as I haven`t been working at this for too long and I am carrying an extra 40 lbs ...And let`s not forget my age of 43..Anyway I have been pushing myself to add floors to my work outs when I use the step climber at the gym and today I reached the 100 floors mark! in 26 minutes and burning 326…
  • I don`t know about "favorite workout equipment" but I`m gaining respect for the step climber at the gym:grumble: But I would say that my favorite part of exercise that still burns calories and helps tone the body is the new love I`m aquiring for swimming...I guest the "pool" is the equipment
  • well did you take measurements? That would give you a good way to see results alongside of weighing yourself. The bodyweight can fluctuate quite a bit in one single day so the weight is not always acurate so I wouldn`t get to frustrated yet with a 3 lbs gain... Are you drinking your H2O...That often helps flush out the…
  • The important factor is not on how many times you fall but on how much stronger you wil be each and everytime you get up and take that step forward... Don`t be too hard on yourself and remember that in order to achieve your goals and appreciate them, you have to work for them and accept the facts that roadblocks will…
