  • I would shop there a lot if it was more competitive. It is expensive and I tend to buy online instead but when I need something quickly I will go there for supplements and protein products etc and I do like to browse and see what they've got in as I am interested in health, nutrition etc. I don't particularly like some of…
  • How are you OP? Hope you got some more help from the second ER visit. I am from the UK and my mum had some similar symptoms to you. She went to her GP and told him about bloating, heavy bleeding and he sent her away saying that it was "just her age" with a leaflet he printed off the internet about managing the change! It…
  • I'm sorry to hear about your cancer. I hope you make a speedy recovery and that you get plenty of support during your chemo. Glad that you got it checked out and a proper diagnosis. My mum had the same thing and at first the doc said her symptoms were just her age!! She did get priper treatment in the end though and has…
  • OP , I think your intention (to help) was clear by what you first wrote. I think if you are worried about the haphazard and possibly dangerous workout you perceived him doing then speak to one of the PTs / other gym stafto get them to watch him and have a word with him. Unfortunately, if you were to do this yourself, you…
  • Stronglifts 5 X 5 is great and there is a brilliant support group on here (targeted mainly at women) that will answer any questions you have on the way. I have been lifting since January and LOVE it! I have seen some brilliant changes to my body and I am so much stronger than I was. Definitely an exercise addict now…
  • I echo what others have said about you looking truly beautiful just as you are. I admire and share your health and strength goals however so I will have a crack at answering your question. I am no where near "ripped" myself yet, but I have lost quite a bit of body fat from diet and now heavy lifting. I started off with 36I…
  • Hi there fellow shortie /big eater! I was 37 yesterday too! How strange! Hope you had a lovely birthday xx ps. You look awesome and are inspiringly healthy and fit! Xx
  • Your'e totally gorgeous! And now you are getting healthy too. xxx Ps. I am doing a 5 k in 2 weeks and I have never run more than 10 minutes before this past couple of weeks so I am well impressed with your 37 minute finish time!
  • Thank you everyone! Great advice from all. Have been attempting I run - can manage 2 miles very slowly (average 12.5 minute mile) . Have signed up for a 5 k in 2 weeks so will see how that goes!!
  • I bought some off ebay for £22.99 including delivery for 8 X 250 gram weights. From reading the above this seems a bit expensive, but I love them! It really helps me to feel like I'm making progress, even if its only 500 grams heavier than last time! Here is the link (I think)…
  • Amazing!!! You got in shape amazingly quickly! Had you ever exercised before? I'm so impressed
  • I echo what others say about stevia. I was like you loving very sweet hit drinks. i used stevia as a stop gap to try and wean myself of sweetness and I've now cut it out completely. I miss sugar bt I'm still in early stages so hopefully this will pass soon.
  • Ha ha . Love this!
  • Ps. You've got great muscle tone already. Is power jam a resistance based workout? If not, I highly recommend weight lifting. I think you look very powerfully built and would get a lot out of it.
  • Looking fantastic! thats amazing for just 12 weeks. you've got a killer smile by the way! X
  • I'm a densely built quite curvy woman and I used to hate it. Now I love it because I've realised I've got a lot of power in these chunky thighs. Concentrating in what your body can do rather than what it looks like can really help .
  • hi i've done a special before and after profile pic as I still don't have photobucket account etc. If you click on my profile you should be able to see the changes. The pic on the left was taken about 2 years ago ( nearly 2 months after having my little lad). The second was taken this month (he is now 2 and 2 months). I…
  • I agree with taunto too. I've done no cardio for the 3 months I've been lifting (except pushing my son in his stroller!)and I've dropped a lot of body fat and more than a clothes size . I started with a made up hybrid of Nia shanks beginner programme and some other stuff thrown in just for kicks (got very excited and…
  • Wool hoo! Love this! You've done so well on your lifts and you look bloody gorgeous x
  • Ha Ha! You look about 25 tops! Such a baby face! Happy Birthday !!
  • I love your story, it made me cry to read about how much you love your daughter and how that love motivated you. Congratulations on becoming a healthier, happier dad and person! FANTASTIC!!!!!
  • Try remembering that losing too quickly may mean eating too few calories which is hard to mentally and physically adjust from once it's time to switch to maintenance. As far as I am aware, too speedy a loss can cause a drop in muscle mass, which long term makes you less of a food burning machine and so it's harder to keep…
  • It seems everyone is different! At one point I was ENORMOUS in tha area and it was painful and very hard to find clothes mever mind bras. It's the main place I have lost weight. Now dropped an estimated 4 cup sizes (i didnt get measured while at largest) and at least 6 inches around my rib change. Hope that gives you hope!…
  • I LOVE this comment. Top points made here! Would enjoy a beer/ cup of tea with this poster and a good rant about a variety of topics!
  • I understand better now thank you! I'd say primarily still concentrate on building strength as this (with the correct guidance) will help with your joint issues, bone density, resting metabolic rate. Etc etc And even wothout cardio will help you burn fat too. Good luck with your goals and I hope you got the advice you…
  • Why do you want to be lighter? If you looked lighter and felt great and fitted into smaller clothes, wouldn't that be just as good if not better? Sorry, struggling to understand? X
  • I am definitely not on a low carb diet by the standards of Atkins etc, ( I am aiming for 30 percent protein, 30 percent fat , 40 percent carb which actually means quite a lot of carbs for my quite high calorie limit) However by focusing on INCREASING protein I have found I don't want as many carbs, I am fuller for longer…

  • Great work! Looking good. You've always had a lovely figure, but you can tell a massive difference already to how shapely and healthy you are becoming. I actually really like your swimming costume by the way! I struggle to find ones that fit (disproportionate top and bottom plus they are always too long or short on me?? )…
  • You're all amazing! Congratulations on your successes. I'm inspired.
