You need hypertrophy to build muscle. You need to have enough protein to support muscle repair. You won't build a significant amount of muscle while on deficit calories.

I intermittent fast because I like it and it's convenient. It's not more optimal than any other sort of meal schedule. I don't find 5:2 a much more binge prone type of style of eating.

It really depends. If you want pre-packaged low calorie meals usually they are more expensive, but just straight up regular fruits / veggies / meats come out to less than a fast food value meal.

I agree with everything above. Your body will eventually adapt and you'll need to keep pushing yourself harder and harder. It's kind of mental F because psychologically you'll think "When will this get easier?" well, the truth is never if you keep wanting to stimulate your muscle fibers.

I have yet to get to elbow sleeves, but I did notice for the first time ever elbow pain. I'll chalk it up to perhaps overly tight forearms than tendinitis... hopefully.

I think knee wraps are a bit of both. They do add a small amount of spring out of the hole, but you do get the benefit of having the extra support around your patella.
