  • Hi. I don't know if there is a faster wat to do a friend request but if you click on the profile image it takes you to a new screen. Click on view profile then there is an icon that looks like 3 people/group. Click on that and it then lets you send a request. I've just sent you one.
  • Hi Abby, I'm vegan and a on/off runner. Have sent you a friend request. Would be good to have more plant based pals on here. Lost a fair bit of weight on here before but old MFP pals are not active anymore! 10lbs down as if this morning's weigh in 💃
  • Same here! Sent you a friend request
  • I don't have many fake meats (in fact this is the only one I do like) but I love the Co-Op Incredible Burgers (uk). With Leon Love Burger sauce and lots of salad 😋
  • Hello, how have you found Veganuary? Are you thinking of continuing with it?
  • Sorry you've had such a rough time recently xxx
  • Sent request. I've been vegetarian most of my life and recently switched to vegan. Have been trying to convert the rest of the family so have been a bit junk food vegan lately but working on it and need to lose some weight so WFPB it is :-)
  • My husband eats meat, my daughter is vegetarian and my son is mostly vegetarian. Veganuary has been great - they have all tried to be mostly vegetarian and eating more vegan food. Husband said he's willing to eat mostly vegan at home plus some fish and everyone happy to stick with the switch to plant milks :-) This is a…
  • Another 2.3 miles today I know the .3 doesnt count :-)
  • Another 3 miles today. In awe of those of you who do 100+ miles a month!
  • Drudoo - that tip was helpful. Might try alternating between 2 and 3 strokes to breathe. I've been doing bilateral every 3 strokes but find when I get tired I need to randomly do extra breaths. Good to know that you can do sub hour ironman with that rythm, thanks
  • Derrick - I started freestyle/front crawl in November and my swimming was like that - had to explain to the lifeguards that I did know how to swim and just ignore me if I looked like I was drowning! (Otherwise they paced alongside me looking nervous!) Not drinking the water anymore and stroke much better but struggling…
  • Great list and picked up some good tips from all of you. As the queen of punctures I would add spare tyre tubes and levers (or prepare for a impromtu brick session!)
  • Hi, I've been a lazy git for several years (other than a few attempts at exercising that lasted a few weeks) so entered a tri in June to motivate me. It worked! I swim 3 times a week, run 3-4 (only a 2-3 miles at the moment though) and bike 2-3. Not doing much distance on the bike though just due to time so really need to…
  • I lost 1.5 stone on 5:2 and found it really worked for me but it's only healthy imho if you eat enough on the up days. I tried to keep it low all week to give me a kick start early on and felt ill. Then I did 1200 - 1500 calories on the up days and felt good. However if I remember correctly I actually lost more and more…
  • Hi everyone. I'm Mandy. I used to be very active before having children but for the last 9 years have did almost no exercise. Did try on a few occassions and would run for a few months but couldnt stick to it so drastic action was required! Signed up for a triathlon to get me motivated and it has definately worked. I…
  • Also gloves and a hat! As a newbie runner myself I soon warm up after about 2 minutes and have been out in all weathers in the frozen north. It's fine and I admit to feeling a bit heroic going out in gale force winds and snow. Summer running is going to be boring :-)
  • I run in a muddyfox cycling jacket :-) It was a gift but they are pretty reasonable at Sports direct. Wear long sleeve tech top underneath or sometimes a thin running fleece that I got years ago. Need to get a hi vis jacket for cycling now I've switched from MTB to road bike ( it's not use for bumping up and down kerbs so…
  • I'm in 40 miles for me (3 done so far).Training for my first triathlon and started running, biking and swimming in November. Running 3-4 times a week at the moment but only 2-3 miles each time. (Swimming 3 times a week and biking 2-3 a week too!) Let's see if this ticker works...
  • Hi, I've found it so much easier since I started skipping breakfast. (Surprisingly!) But how about 2 rice cakes and LF cream cheese or cottage cheese. I put a bit of Asda balsamic glaze on and it feels more lux! Makes cottage cheese bearable :-)
  • TeaBea - thank you for your kind and supportive comment. It certainly beats being told to "read the bloody instructions!" You may well be right but I want to keep it fairly low for the next 2 or 3 weeks. If I stop losing I'll just eat more :-) I don't think there is really any danger of me sticking to 1200 calories anyway…
  • Dovetail - I can do whatever the hell I like as can you. This post asked for feedback from people doing 5:2 so that they can support each other. As you're clearly not interested in this diet why don't you go and annoy someone else and leave me and MY diet in peace. Better still try being supportive instead of attacking…
  • Hi, I've just started too - 1 fast down and went well.
  • I asked for a marsupial pouch to keep the baby in as I had a angry little toddler at the time! Careful what you wish for :-) My angry toddler is now very sweet most of the time. I doubt she'll be an easy teenager but hey ho. Definately harder to lose the belly after a section. Went down quite quickly after first natural…
  • Ouch dovetail! Maybe you need to eat something - you're kinda cranky :-) I did read the "instructions" - I decided to go on a low fat diet first THEN start on 5:2. First day was yesterday - my fast day. Maybe a low calorie diet first was not the conventional way to do things but who says I need to be a sheep and find an…
  • Hi I'm vegetarian too and back again to MFP! Let me know if you have any specific veggie questions? As a tip I would say that it's too easy for new veggies (and cheese lovers!) to rely on cheese! Although some is good as it has B12 - but so does marmite for less calories. Quorn is great and easy when you are on a diet but…
  • Hi - I've just started too - will add you now :-)
  • Hi I think you can really overdo it on the exercise and put yourself off. Maybe take the exercise down a notch so that you don't wake up so sore. The scales will move again soon so don't lose heart.
  • Well done - that's absolutely brilliant and a lovely motivating story x
