Very dramatic.. you look great!

This is an interesting discussion. I think that this is very individual. I have set my goal weight at 125 pounds. I am 48 years old and I don't want to look haggard and saggy. I seem to have a lot more muscle than some of my friends, because at 140 (My current weight), I already look thinner than them. So I guess I will…

Don't build a belief system based on perfectionism. Give yourself room to be imperfect... in fact sometimes, the more rigid the control, the greater the fall when it is too hard to keep up. Build in foods that you like into your daily calories (like chocolate) and this will keep them from being all powerful and something…

Biggest argument.. is people ranting against splenda and diet pop... but they drink gallons of regular pop is if iit is a health food.

You said you have a two year old son... Can you put him in a jogging buggy and take him on some of your runs? He is the biggest motivation you will find... And although I am a Canadian I still want to thank you for giving part of your life and your body for your country... Honour to you!

The mice got fat because they were sleeping all day due to being up at such unnatural times :))

I was a weight watchers leader for years and worked with lots of clients who were 300+ pounds. If you can afford it, an exercise. type heart rate monitor can be a really good aid in terms of exercise. Then you can tell if you are working at the right level without straining yourself. Some of my clients started just by…

How about climbing the stairs in your apartment. I lost a lot of weight that way.. It very aerobic and low impact and you can go as slow as you want. Put on your headphones... Music... Off you go..

I eat chocolate every day... 100 cal portion. Once per day... I have learned that this keeps me from binging because I don't feel so deprived... But if its chocolate you want to give up for sure... Then try apple dipped in penute butter... Really yummy

Imagine if the rules changed in sports, and there were no longer any "illegal" substances .... Whatever you want to do to your body to get ready for the race is up to you... And may the best... Or most jacked up win... If you drop dead in a few years from too many steroids... That was your choice, your responsibility....…

The good news about a plateau is that it isn't actually one. (In other words, if you are eating less calories, something is happening )So if your not seeing a fat loss, you are experiencing a muscle gain. However... when I get stuck at a plateau I do like to change things up.. add new exercises.. reduce salt.. I am always…

You look very pretty.. well done.. I love that you were able to lose this since last may. That should be very inspiring to anyone who has 100 pounds to lose right now :)

This is an important truth! Well said :)

I had to really work on the car thing... People would say "pack a healthy snack"... But the thing is that I did not want a healthy snack. So I have compromised ... I now keep the hundred calorie cheesie portioned packs and a diet coke in my car, not as healthy, but I have found that if its there, I am much less likely to…

Actually... I can go to the gym and walk on the track.. so I will do that once this week... promise!

I had to smile when I saw this.. it's a great idea except that I live in a part of Canada where we get -40 degrees during the winter. But I will join you all in spirit, and keep going on my elliptical trainer each day :)

You can do it this year. Just focus one day at a time on hitting your target. It all adds up. There is lots of support on this site. Also I would suggest investing in one of the gadgets that you can buy and wear to see how much you are really burning each day. They are very motivating. I bought the bodybit one today.

You can get a ticker that shows how far you have come or how far you have left to go. Check under "help" to find it.

I have one question... I wear a heart rate monitor when working out. I am wondering if this will interfere with the fitbit in any way? Does anyone water a heart monitor during workouts who has a fitbit? Let me know please
-
Thanks for all this info, it is very helpful. After hearing and considering all this I have ordered fitbit one As I do not like anything around my arm or wrist as I am often dressed up for events. I also like the idea of tracking my sleep cycles. I will buy my husband the wrist one when it is released this spring.

This is really simple strategy.. but it works.. .. I change every day from my pyjamas into my workout clothes. I strap on my heart monitor, and get my iPod ready. I tell myself that I am not getting out of those clothes without doing something physical. This is a daily habit I have found really helps me. Also its a good…
