  • Stephanie - love your attitude! I know you'll do hit your goals - you sound very determined and a bit of competition is a good thing. You can log in your workouts on the workout thread (listed above)...you'll find a lot of encouragement there. Welcome
  • Just did WO 10 for the first time and I was dripping sweat!!!! Don't want to scare anyone but the warm up starts with rock star jumps :noway:   :laugh: Every week there are planks and she continues to make them harder each phase - but you'll be surprised at how much better you get at them. In Phase 3 there…
  • Hi Alicia 2 - glad you've joined us. Sounds like you are doing very well on JMBR. My husband also keeps telling me how much better I'm looking on this program! It is definitely harder as you get older (I'm over 50 :noway:  ). Post you workouts on the workout thread:…
  • Just started Phase 3 today. I meant to begin at the end of last week while on vacation, but a family literally took over the weight area and were not very accommodating to others...so I had to do cardio. I have to say I really didn't feel like WO 9 was as tough as I was expecting. It had a lot of yoga moves I regularly do…
  • Hi Alicia. My middle started to shrink during Phase II (also my legs got much more toned)...now in phase 3 I'm hoping I can get trimmer arms. Please post on the workout thread as you continue on and let everyone know how its going. Welcome!
  • Phase 2 DONE!!!!! Sin you have me very very scared about starting Phase 3. I actually don't always do her cardio in favor of my favorites like kickboxing and dance class. Today I kayaked on the ocean, hit to gym for an hour of biking and elliptical and also did a lot of walking. I have a day of rest tomorrow but will…
  • did my last WO 7 in the hotel gym. Fortunately it was only me and my family there...I'm a bit embarrassed about doing the BR in front of others. I had to use 10lbs for my heavy weights because they didn't have 8 lbs. It is hot and humid here so I was dripping by the time I was done. I have a touch of Montezuma's revenge so…
  • Just started week 8. WO 7 always seems so hard during the 1st circuit...never sure I'll be able to do it all...then it gets more manageable (that doesn't mean easy). I'm definitely finding that this program is paying off. My balance is better, I'm stronger and my middle is getting trimmer. Dana - hang in there. I found…
  • Welcome Sara - I'm sure you are going to really enjoy BR...you will definitely be kicking it up a notch
  • I'm off schedule again because I got sick from something I ate while traveling. I took one day off ant then was back at it. I'm still a bit off from time zone changes, not enough sleep and too much food. When I did WO 7 again tonight I struggled a bit at the beginning and then finally found a zone. My stomach is pretty…
  • did WO 8 for the first time. did fairly well but couldn't hold Warrior 3 with weights the whole time. I was a bit sore from WO 7 so expect the same tomorrow for WO 8. So glad I've got cardio tomorrow. I'm out of town all weekend for a wedding so won't be doing WO 7 again until Monday. Think I'll do cardio for 2 straight…
  • Welcome Ela. I think you can get a good idea of what its like by looking at our workout thread http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1279178-jmbr-workouts You'll see that it starts out fairly easy but then ramps up pretty quickly. All of us are starting from different places in terms of our in going fitness levels and…
  • I'm going on vacation soon as well. I'm going to check in advance to see if they have any light dumbbells I can use/borrow so I can stick with the program. If not then I'm going to bring a band with me. You can easily slip it in your luggage and use it for your strength training. There are lots of programs out there for a…
  • Did WO 7 for the first time today and it was not as bad as I was afraid of...with the exception of the jack knife sit-ups...which I can't even come close to doing. I couldn't believe I was able to do the 1 legged push ups. Of course I crossed one over the other to start but hope to work up to just having the leg up without…
  • Welcome Soapyskin and Lauren. Hope you saw the link above to where you should log in your workouts. Lauren - it will get more challenging soon. You'll see a difference when you get to phase 2.
  • After a bit of a break due to travel (although did get in cardio and yoga) I did my last WO 5...it finally felt manageable -phewwwww. Re: Julie's request...If you have a preference let us know and I can create new threads for each phase. We've had a lot of folks introduce themselves but not as many posting on this workout…
  • Welcome Biri and Marjorie. Please post about you workouts at http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1279178-jmbr-workouts. You've joined a great group of ladies (haven't gotten any men to join - yet). We are all at different points in the BR program so no worries about where you are right now.
  • I'm off schedule thanks to a trip to LA. We had a nice break in the weather and the flood waters had finally receded off the bike path so did a bike ride as my cardio. Will do my last WO 5 and 6 and then move on to 7&8 at the end of the week. Feels weird to be switching mid week . Hope everyone is hanging in there!
  • Welcome Wordwhimsy and Maria - I think you'll both find this program fun and challenging. Also, its a great group of women who are amazingly supportive. Post post your workouts on the workout thread (there are links on the first page of this thread).
  • So I'm now in week 6 and was hoping that WO 5 & 6 would feel a bit easier...but no such luck. I'm getting a bit nervous about starting with WO 7 & 8 next week if I'm still feeling like by heart is going to jump out of my chest just doing 5 & 6. I guess I'll just have to wait to see if I can handle it. On the NSV front,…
  • Is there a gym at the hotel you are staying at? I'm going out of town soon and plan to bring the DVD's and my laptop with me and do the workouts early in the morning before my work day begins. I'm a little embarrassed at the thought of doing these workouts around anyone else, but I don't want to take too long a break from…
  • just did WO 6 for the second time - definitely easier this time around. I was able to do just about all the one legged stuff on the right...on the left not so much. I found that my weight is kinda all over the place with this program (putting on muscle; hopefully losing fat). I'm not getting too caught up in the scale any…
  • Definitely DO NOT BAIL...do what works for you. If you haven't worked out in 2 years you might need to take it a bit slower. Its normal to feel sore and tried right after but you should be bouncing back fairly quickly and feeling like you have lots of energy to face you day. What other changes are you making? Also, I've…
  • second time for WO 5 - seemed just a tad easier but still got my heart pounding. burned 267 - most I've ever burned on the BR. whoooo hooooo
  • I did phase 1 as she laid it out the calendar, but now that I'm on phase 2 I was thinking similarly about adding an extra week. I'm only in week 5 but WO 5&6 are so much tougher for me. I'm thinking that I'll go through both weeks with 5&6...hopefully they'll feel more manageable by the time I'm done and I'll move on to…
  • Welcome Nicole. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. You sound like you've got a lot to keep you busy:smile:
  • did Cardio 2 for the first time - so much more challenging than Cardio 1. Burpies - please!!!!!!!  No breaks. I burned 275 in 30 minutes which is a lot for me. I'm sore everywhere, but feeling good
  • Welcome! 8 lbs in 3 weeks is fantastic. This program will definitely help you hit your goal
  • there are "storks" where you are bent parallel to the floor and you row heavy weights up to your belly...she also does a 1-legged squat with light weights where you squat down, touch your toe with the weight and then fly your arms up as you stand...I struggled with both. I had to keep tapping my foot down
  • Just finished WO 6. It seemed tougher to me than 5??? Maybe its just because I'm tired. I struggle with all the 1 leg balance moves - especially on the left. Hopefully I'll be an expert at it by the time I'm done with these 2 weeks. as JM says "hang in there people - you can do this!!!!!!!"
