  • Feel free to add me! I'm due October 6. :) I'm trying to get back into the swing of things on MFP!
  • Our list as approved by hubby: Evelyn (99.999% sure that's what we'll choose, I've been obsessed with it since I had my son 4 years ago....only crappy thing is it's becoming way too popular for my liking) Lillian Bridget Josephine (I totally thought hubby was joking with this one, I'm not keen on it)
  • 7 weeks already. It's finally feeling real....if I can make it to 8 weeks I can finally relax. It sucks when you've had a loss before....early pregnancy is never the same! Still no real symptoms except for the not able to eat part. I actually had to go and buy another test to make sure I'm still pregnant. This is SO not…
  • Congrats to you ladies! This is going to be a fun journey. I have never kept up with diet/exercise during any of my pregnancies. I'm curious as to how it'll help the whole pregnancy and labor and bouncing back after. I'm *trying* to keep my calories at maintenance, but the past few days have made it difficult. I never got…
  • Thought I'd pop in and update. I've been fairly sparse around MFP busy with all the holiday stuff going on. I purchased Eat To Perform's "Met Flex for Fat Loss" and have since implemented it. Along the same lines as the calorie cycling I mentioned above, only this I'm eating more carbs. I'm so thankful I found this! I like…
  • Love it! This is funny!!!
  • We're currently TTC #4. I think that once you get your diet under control, and stick with that (read: whole foods...not so much the lack of calories) you should have no issues. With my first 2 I ate a SAD diet and gained 50 lbs with each pregnancy. With my son, I ate a whole foods diet and only gained 25#, so it's all…
  • Stronglifts, Starting Strength, NROL4W are all great programs. Currently I've been in love with Nia Shanks' programs. Check out her blog "Lift LIke a Girl." They are simple, effective, with little fluff.
  • Sounds like a good plan! I too am having a very difficult time going down to cut level. I have decided to do calorie cycling. I eat 2047 on workout days and 1589 on rest days (with a refeed day every 10 days) which amounts to the same if I cut 500 calories each day, only this way my body still benefits from the cut but I…
  • I know, right? Such a shame they have to go and turn it back to white. :)
  • Low fat = chemical *kitten* storm. Full fat = satisfying, whole, natural. Also, did you know that low-fat milk is actually BLUE after they process it? Look it up. To make a product low fat, low calorie, whatever it takes a whole lot of processing and unnatural ingredients and most of the time has added sugar in the mix.
  • Thanks for the explanation thought I get the feeling you don't think I should be going into a cut. I have been sitting here for a while now reading the spreadsheet. On the TDEE deficit page, there is an option to do calorie cycling. Rest days I'd eat 1589, higher fat, and workout days I'd eat 2043 focusing on carbs. I'm…
  • I am a bit obsessed with Nia at the moment. lol I just got done doing her Simple Strength program from the Beautiful Badass series. I was going to start (s)hero, but this came up and I figured why not. lol I ALSO have her Muscle Sculpting program so I'll have plenty to do for the next year at least! lol
  • I'm doing Nia Shanks' "Train To Be Awesome." It's awesome. ;)
  • Update! Last Friday (11/8) I went into the Wellness Center on base and hopped in the BodPod (SCORE! They have one!). Not the numbers I wanted or expected, but they are what they are. Weight: 153.6 lbs Body fat %: 35.7% Fat mass: 54.987 lbs Fat free mass (LBM): 98.707 Body volume: 68.370 L Body density: 1.0191 kg/L I'm not…
  • Do you have your pictures uploaded onto Photobucket? What I learned was that in order for the picture thing to work there can be NO spaces n any of your folder names. I just went in to my folder and added a little dash instead and it worked.
  • I would suggest you check out this thread: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/680246-tdee-bmr-what-they-are-and-what-to-do-with-them The reason you gained 10 lbs was because your body started replenishing its glycogen stores and possibly bloat because of the increase in calories. A few weeks is hardly enough time to…
  • Heybales, do you have any ideas on how to get a more accurate burn when working out? I was wearing my HRM which is a Polar FT4, but since that uses an inflated value and doesn't allow for personalization in the VO2max area I've heard not so accurate. I have a Fitbit One, and that works well for daily activities but not so…
  • I'm going to be starting a new program tomorrow and these workouts will be higher in intensity and overall volume. I've done very well with logging EVERYTHING down to the gram. I did take a week off from logging, but I'm ready to go back.
  • Yeah, I think this will work better for me in terms of lifting. I know that if I were to cut down to 1800 or even 1900 calories daily my lifts will suffer and I don't like that. lol This way, I will still be eating fairly substantial on the days I lift, and less on the days I don't.
  • Count me in!!!!!!!
  • WOW! That was a great link! Thanks! I have quite a bit of reading to do! BIG HUGS Sassy! I'm sorry you aren't feeling very well.
  • Yes to everything in this answer. If you want to build muscle you have to eat at a surplus. I would go to the calculators and figure out your TDEE and slowly start increasing your calories to that level. Unfortunately, this is a big game of trial and error. I'll share with you my story in as little words as I can. I came…
  • I think you need to sit back and think about your goal. Do you REALLY want to weigh 110 lbs? At 5' 3" that's really small! I am 5' 4" and got down to 113# and lost my periods. I felt like ****, always tired, and was convinced I had something wrong with me. I was exercising too much and eating WAAAAY to little. My periods…
  • I haven't logged food for the past 3 or so days and it has felt great! My body DEFINITELY knows when it needs the food! lol!!!! Made that mistake today since I didn't feel hungry at the time I just took my daughter to swim practice. Normally I bring a snack, but not today because I felt fine. Well....not 20 minutes later I…
  • Check out Nia Shanks' blog "Lift Like a Girl." She has a workout program called Beautiful Badass. It has a beginner program and it's perfect for someone just starting out! Not much equipment required and no fancy movements. Youtube is great to watch videos and make sure your form is spot on, or maybe hire a trainer at a…
  • I don't think they are LIFE chiropractics. I did talk with him today and I'm feeling much better about this whole thing. I brought up how most times muscles have shifted and changed, will we be addressing that issue as well and he said after 3 more sessions we will start with that therapy as well. So it's more…
  • Thanks Heybales. I was quite shell shocked yesterday, didn't really know what to ask. I tried, but I must not have been as clear as I wanted. I do have a list of questions for him when I go back today. I certainly want to get the best regarding this though. As it is, for the budget it's going to be a stretch and I…
