  • African-American, West Indian (Dominica), Native-American, possibly some Irish ancestry (there is talk of a white male on both mother's and father's sides of the family but the elders would not speak of it and some secrets went to the grave...)
  • The trick I do is to tell myself the night before what I'm going to do the following day-whether it be go to the gym, walk/run around the park, or use youtube fitness videos. Then when the following day comes I have to do that workout first thing in the morning. If I don't do it in the morning, then it gives me an open…
  • You can add me! I log everyday and I have an open diary. I've been successful thus far and I'm going for the gold! I just sent a Friend Request. :)
  • I "promised" my 13-year old daughter a dog if she maintained a 90+ average for the entire 2012-2013 school year (slap me in the mouth because she is doing it). You can see the comparison here. If that were me, hubby would come home to a kiss from me and something wet licking his ankles. Decision made!!
  • From now on you should go to the gym with some protection. I suggest a personal body alarm, mace/pepper spray, box cutter in your pocket or waistband of your pants, whistle. Also practice your meanest mug (face) in the mirror. Most times I walk around with such a look on my face that people think twice about approaching me…
  • You rock! I just finished voting for you! I have been wanting a hoop for the longest (to relive those childhood memories). I was in a store and saw a colorful hoop display and was going to purchase one. My 14-year old daughter almost passed out in the store from embarrassment. I let it go for that day but when I go back to…
  • Everything gets better with time! There were workouts where I had to take several breaks just to get through them. Now I don't take breaks on them and have to do them longer to get that same intensity. Aren't you curious about what you could become? Time and patience are the answer just don't give up. Don't give up...
  • We're almost twins in the virtual weight loss world! I weighed in at 180 today and have a goal weight of 145 (I'm only 5'3), and a size 14. That's 35 pounds to go for me. I haven't put a timeline on my weight loss, since it's a life change for me. You can add me for support along your journey if you'd like. :)
  • My motivation is the mirror. I have a portable full-length mirror that I have propped up in my living room. Every time I pass from the living room to the bedroom (or any room for that matter) I get a glance of myself in the mirror. I am not happy with that image so that's what gets me to workout. There are tons of health…
  • You can if you want to. There are entries under the Exercise tab that allow you to calculate for cleaning/housework and you can add an entry of your own if you don't see what you need. I personally, do not add cleaning/housework as exercise. I may bust my a__ doing the dishes, laundry, vacuuming and a host of other things…
  • Sometimes I don't get my workout in as planned. If I don't do it in the morning, the day goes by and it never gets done. Without the workout, I can't eat like I need to eat. Also, sometimes I reach for a poor choice in snacks when I know I can do better (fruits instead).
  • YES! Me too...my gum adds 5 calories and I log my vitamins/supplements because combined they add 23 calories to my total (and that's only taking half the daily dose per day). I have to account for this everyday.
  • I don't recommend taking time off from work. Unemployment (regardless of how it is initiated) is the root of all weight gain evil. I have been out of work for 6 months+. I gained 20lbs very early on, on top of whatever I wanted to lose when I was working. If you look at my ticker, my weight loss goal is the same as yours.…
  • I did a total body kettle bell workout (10lbs) and one of the routines was a straight-leg deadlift. I felt it so much in my inner thighs I wanted to cry every time I had to walk, sit or stand. And I felt this for days after the workout!!!
  • How cute! Now only if their fries really did contain the nutrients of an apple... :(
  • Try changing the measurement in the serving size box from 1 to .25, .33, .50, .75 or whatever portion of that cup you actually ate. I do it all the time.
  • Do what you can. I have bad knees too and there are certain things I certainly don't do. I don't do lunges or squats. I try to do the exercises or moves to the best of my ability without hurting myself because I need my knees for another 40 years, at least.

  • I use Purity Made Simple from philosophy. It dissolves all types of makeup including waterproof makeup. Skin is super clean afterwards. If I have on makeup that is a little stubborn, I use Lancome Bi-facil which is so gentle on the eyes and smells like roses. It is a sensory experience. When I don't splurge on these luxury…
  • I don't eat any type of prepared eggs (mushy and ugh!). When I eat ice cream it has to have something you bite into inside it (crunchy and yum!)
  • Start off by just walking. You'd be surprised how much weight you can walk off. As you lose pounds and feel better, then you can 'graduate' to those other activities. I weigh less than you and I don't like all that jumping around either. No one says it has to be done that way. :)
  • You can add me! I log every day, have an open diary and 'slow and steady wins the race'.
  • Condiments! Although I haven't given them up (I have swapped for low cal/low fat versions in most cases) I love all the things you put on food to make it taste better: dressing, margarine, ketchup, sauces, dips, syrups, sour/cream cheeses, etc. Oh, and I have a weakness for ice cream which I tried to swap with sugar-free…
  • Actually, my lack of a job right now has contributed to my weight gain. I need a job like ASAP!
  • At 5'3'', my weight knocking on the door of 200...
  • I know what you mean about the age. I am 41 and trying to lose any weight I need to before menopause creeps up on me. After that it will be hopeless for me. You can add me as a friend for support if you'd like. I log in everyday and I'm serious about this weight loss business!
  • At first I thought when you put money on it, it sweetens the deal (at least for me anyway!). And then I thought about it. I don't know how much weight she has to lose but as the pounds go off and the gift cards are rewarded, if the intent to lose weight isn't right she'll end up right back where she started in the long run.
  • I'm trying to lose 50 by the start of July. Time is on your side, but we can take the journey together. You can add me as a friend.
  • I just started about a week ago, anxious for my first check-in and looking for more friends. I'm sending you a friend request. :)
  • Don't let the 'looking for a job' stress get to you. I am in a job search myself for the past 6 months and I have put on an additional 20+ pounds. Now I'm trying to shed it. Big mistake for me to let that happen being I have the time to exercise since I'm not working right now. The job will come, but in the mean time don't…
