Found this on Pinterest a while ago: "Saying, 'Oh, I've already ruined my good eating today. I'll just keep eating crap' is like saying, 'Oh, I dropped my phone on the floor. I'll just smash it till it breaks.' "

I have the Insanity DVDs and I love them! If you have a history of back and or knee pain, though, do NOT buy the DVDs. They are high impact and it will end up being a waste of money. I have never done the program for a full 60 days, but do the workouts 2-3 times a week. If you want a really tough workout to do at home,…

Forget about losing a large amount of pounds in this timeframe. Eat at a healthy deficit, stay hydrated, and focus on strength training-- you'd be surprised how quickly you can start changing your overall shape and losing inches in 3 weeks.

I started outdoor winter running two years ago (after years of being a winter treadmill runner) and LOVE it. I just wear my regular running shoes but, the day before, drive the route I'm planning to take in order to check for ice. I also check weather.com and see if the weather conditions have been icy the day before. I…

Newman's Own Champion Chip Cookies. There may or may not be nicotine and cocaine in them because they are SO addictive!!!

You might have Patellofemoral Syndrome (PFS). In short, it means your knee cap/s isn't/aren't moving on the correct track and are shifting. I was having knee pain back in the spring and ended seeing my primary care physician, who referred me to a physical therapist and they diagnosed me with PFS. Essentially, my hamstrings…

I'll add you as a friend because I have the same goal. I've always wanted people to be able to look at me and a)know that I work my @$$ off for my figure and b) possibly think maybe I'm a pro athlete? haha

5'3" and want to get back into size 4/6 (pre-baby #2 size). I was 123 lbs before I got pregnant but I'm doing more weight lifting and less cardio this time around (versus tons of cardio and minimal weight lifting to lose pregnancy weight from #1) because I want a more sculpted, athletic look. My guess is my weight will…

Commenting to keep tabs on this topic: I'm very curious about this as well, because I've heard arguments for both. Example 1 Cardio first, weights second because weight lifting will fatigue your muscles and you could risk injury doing cardio afterword. Example 2 Weights first because you want your muscles "fresh" to get…

I've found that if I take my dog for a 30-40 minute walk before running with him, he behaves much better while we're running. I think it gives him time to mark his territory and go #2 if he needs too.

It sounds like you might have shin splits, totally normal for someone just getting into running. Putting ice on your legs after a run will help ease the pain, as well as something like Icy Hot, Ben Gay, or Tiger Balm. I think there are also some simple exercises you can do to help relieve shin split pain (I've seen some on…

One way that I motivate myself to go running is to download some new songs onto my running playlist and the rule is, I CANT listen to them unless I'm running!

A good rule of thumb for water consumption is 1 C. for every 10 pounds of weight. If you weigh 125 pounds, you should be drinking about 12, 8 oz glasses of water a day.

I think you should be asking yourself if you'd be proud of your son if he turned into the kind of the man that your current boyfriend is. That should give you your answer.

***UPDATE*** I had my Mirena taken out a week ago today and I'm so glad I did. Here's a rundown of what has happened since I had the Mirena removed: Periods: I pretty much never stopped getting my period after I had Mirena inserted. I was getting two true periods a month and spotting every day in between. Some days the…

I'm getting mine out next Friday and I can't freakin' wait! I noticed a few weeks ago that my weight-loss has stalled, despite eating at a calorie deficit every single day and starting a half-marathon training program (I'm logging almost 20 miles/week). Then I found this thread and read about other symptoms I've been…

You need to make an appointment with your doctor. I would not pursue running/jogging until you know what's causing the pain in your chest.

How many miles are on your old shoes? How stable are your feet in them (i.e. does your heel slide around)? You should retire running shoes once you've hit about 300-400 miles in them. I think you should wear your new shoes; running a race in your old ones might screw up your knees.

Have a healthy snack! Do you have any veggies and hummus, an apple and a TBS of peanut butter? I'd say eat some of your workout calories back, but make sure it's healthy food-- don't eat 2 Cups of ice cream just because you can!

If you're following recipes from the Insanity "cookbook" that came along with the program, just a heads up that their calorie totals are off (often UNDERestimated by 200-300 calories!). Follow their recipes but go by your own measurements/servings and the calories that you come up with to make sure you're not over eating.

The short answer is higher weights/lower reps. Bigger weights are what will tear your muscle fibers so that when you rest and recover (which all weight lifters MUST do), you'll rebuild more muscle tissue. If you're worried about getting "too bulky", you're a woman: you and I don't have the testosterone levels necessary to…

THANK YOU. I'm basically going to say the same thing as the person I'm quoting: you need to be eating more calories if your'e going to be exercising that much. Yes, you need to create a calorie deficit to lose weight, but if your deficit is too great your body will actually stall the weight loss process because it thinks…

Okay...I'm new to MFP and don't know what BMR and TDEE stand for.....could someone please explain?

Please do some more research about Phentermine before you decide to continue taking the pills. What you described is not a carb and/or sugar withdrawal; you are experiencing side effects of the phentermine. Diet pills tend to take a two-pronged approach in order to achieve weight-loss. The most common is to load the pills…
