Insanity Nutrition Calulations

I am going into week 4 of Insanity and realizing how much I should be eating. Better late than never. Could anyone experienced in this go over my calculations and make sure it sounds right.
66 + (6.23 x 191lbs) + (12.7 x 71 inches) - (6.8 x 29) = 1960.43
1960.43 x 1.55 (activity level) = 3038.66
3038.66 - 500 = 2538.66
So I should be aiming for 2538.66 calories while doing Insanity?

I am not experienced in the calculations, but the formula looks right. Do you know how much you burn with Insanity? I just started month 2. The nutrition plan said I should eat around 1850. I usually keep it around 1600-1700 because I only average around 350 calories burned for month 1.
For month 2, I am around 500+ calories burned, so I am going for the 1850. It depends on what your goal is. Fat loss, maintenance, etc. Good luck!!0 -
Fat loss is my goal, right now I aim for 1550 and usually burn between 300-500 per workout.. I stick to the 40/40/20 but only averaging about 90-120g protein right now. I would like to see it around 170g.
You think I should stick to 1550 and then eat back my exercise?0 -
Yes, I would go with the 2500 something cals/day and not eat back exercise calories. The formula accounts for calories burned form the intense workouts and subtracting the 500 is for the deficit to lose weight.
Edited to say you will want to increase your cals for the 2nd phase also because it gets INSANE! lol I'm on my last day of week 5 today so next week I'm eager to see how much I will have to eat. I use the BodyMedia Fit LINK armband to help me see what I need to eat a day and I eat anywhere from 1600-2200 or so cals a day up until now depending on what I do for exercise in addition to Insanity. Some days I lift weights as well or go for walks.0 -

I can't say for certain, but I am 5'2, 148 pounds and I eat around 1800-1900 a day for fat loss on days I work out and then 1600 on my off days, so I would say that the 2400 sounds about right for you. Again, I can't say for certain because I have had to play around with my calories a little to figure out where I needed to be.0 -
Woohoo, I am excited to start eating some more and not being so damn picky.0

I edited my post earlier to change weight loss to fat loss. I have only lost 2 pounds, but over 10 inches, which is my goal. You'll do great!0

If you're following recipes from the Insanity "cookbook" that came along with the program, just a heads up that their calorie totals are off (often UNDERestimated by 200-300 calories!). Follow their recipes but go by your own measurements/servings and the calories that you come up with to make sure you're not over eating.0
