  • Ok thanks.
  • I'm sure that you young men have been reading and learning how to lift a bit but as you may someday learn there are several ways to skin a cat. How To Squat Without Knee And Back Pain! http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/no_pain_squat.htm Jul 01, 2013 For Beginners--Learning To Squat With A Bar Step 4 /// Rise up and keep your…
  • How many reps?
  • Tiger, I never said that I can out squat everyone. My comments were meant to express why I have some credibility. I just wanted to share some tips and help the kid improve but dbmanta jumped in and got his joy out of insulting people that are more experienced than he is in here giving advice and telling this poor kid not…
  • Sorry about that. I guess you jumped in so I didn't realize you were not the guy who was insulting people and had no real life experience to back up his opinions.
  • Good for you. Keep on working on being better. You can improve.
  • Too late, You have already been negative and insulting to several people. I have the experience and I guess you watched a video so now your the expert.
  • 25 years heavy weight lifting legs lots of other sports and no injury's. At almost 52 years old I can out squat most men in any gym. last week, I was squatting and pressing with a strong thick 6+ foot man at the gym. I was doing 25 reps to his 5 reps. I could do every bit of what he loaded and more. I have never had any…
  • Thanks for the compliment but an expert doesn't = a mind reader. I guess I am suppose to somehow know you have a bum knee. Oh and just a reminder you also told him that his personal trainer gives him bad advice But I am happy to hear that you agree there is always something to learn.
  • You probably hurt your knee when you were squatting with poor form.
  • You speak hastily by saying several people are wrong. At your age you probably should have learned you don't have to be a jerk to express yourself and there may be more one way of doing things well. As a woman, I can very likely out squat you and I have many years experience. But I guess you still think that you are the…
  • Any three?
  • Thank You
  • I agree. I have personally gotten stronger and smaller legs at the same time. There is a reason body building is called an art. You can sculpt your body. You could learn how to develop stronger larger legs up top and strengthen, cut and tighten your calves to help balance out your shape. I lift very heavy weights more than…
  • good for you!!!
  • You don't really want to loose muscle you want to strengthen and tighten it. As muscle first grows it pumps up with water and blood but as you strengthen you may be able to shrink and tighten it. Calves are an area that can take lots of work to change. If your not adding calories it cant grow. I'm super strong and I have…
  • The number of reps and how much time you take depends on what your trying to accomplish. I want to burn calories and I am super strong already from years of training experience so I don't rest much. I do HITT. I do bench then go to another heavy fast rep exercise or a cardio sprint then back to the bench. Most people rest…
  • Here are some articles that I think will help you. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/cyberpump1.htm You would automatically straighten up and pull your head and shoulders back. This is the proper position of the spine for the squat. IOW, your head is pulled back; your chest is raised; and you have a slight arch in your lower…
  • Or just look up and that will develop up position instantly. LOL
  • The belt is not necessary.
  • I have squated 2, 100 lb plates easy. Excellent form. I am a squat expert so you don't know what your talking about. Oh and I'm a 51+ year old woman. I can probably out squat you so you may need to re think some things.
  • Another thing, when I squat light weight I actually perform poorly. There is something different that will occur when you have a heavy weight on the bar. Start with 25 on each side. You should not be squatting less than that. Your fit so don't be afraid to go for it. You will focus more and you wont mind holding that bar…
  • i like the low bar squat advice. It helps. you will get use to it and over time it will allow you to be more powerful.
  • Add some weight and don't go so far down just to get the hang of heavy weight you can do just one if its too heavy stop and download. Your much stronger than you are lifting. Let me know how you do. I speak from lost of experience and success. I started out 20 years ago and couldn't lift the bar. I quickly started lifting…
  • Great work, All you need is some experience. First, stop wasting time squatting with no or light weight. You are fit and can do so much more. 2nd Look up. Don't watch yourself. Keep you eyes up on the wall. 3rd bring your stance in a bit. feet should be about hip to shoulder with apart. 4th. Breath use your breath to push…
  • Ok Dern, I read through through the first two pages. What I do is I look up and fix my eyes on a spot where the ceiling and the Wall meet. When I get to the down position I then take a breath, look up, lean back and push with my heels. As I go up I push my air out. When I'm standing and I need to, I take a few more breaths…
  • for me it is a waste of time for cardio. unless you pile on the tork It uses less muscle to push the thing and I burn much more doing tread mill or stair climber even spin bicycle. If you want to burn calories you have to add tork and most people don't do that.
  • ncsteve---Keep going. Don't give up. You got this!!!!!!!
  • Just something to think about... I'm 51 and I had a bad sciatica pain problem a few years back.I got to the point that I could hardly walk and I got really out of shape. When I sat on the floor It was extremely hard to even get up. It took me a few years to get my leg strength back. I started with walking, then yoga and…
  • I'm going to test this. But as a 51 year old woman I'm mostly super strong with my legs. I can go do ... go do squat (135) ...then leg press (540) then go ride a spin bike with lots of tork for 45 min and still go for a 3 mile fast paced walk the next day. So I don't think I need to be under 700 if its legs.
