I was looking for a post I saw about the 1000 Lb club. I love this. I am going to do this challenge. I wanted to see if the rules were for free weights only or any weight machines. If you know the answer or where this thread is let me know Or if you want to just join the challenge here. Let me know.

Free weights, big three lifts. You're an expert, so you should have no problem.

    Uh. No.
    The three. The powerlifting lifts.

    Bench Press
    Squat
    Deadlift

Free weights only. I think there's a rule of raw only.

Just adding, read the thread. I think it is the PL three only, Oly lifts might be allowed as your three.

Honestly if someone can reach the 1000 lb club with bicep curls being one of them...pretty impressive.

Doesn't count but it would be a lot more difficult to accomplish using one Olympic lift as one of the 3.

1 rep of each. That's it.

in powerlifting you get three attempts per lift to reach your max (for that day anyways). Only the heaviest lift for each of the three counts towards the total.

Your top bench, squat and dead.

What does that have to do with anything?

Means you're attempting to explain something basic to someone who already knows far more than that.

Thought he was explaining it to the OP but quoted that guy and then made what that guy said clearer and less of a general statement.

My Squat, Deadlift, Bench, Power clean, and Shoulder press combined are at the bottom of 1200 so far, so this competition definetely isnt for me yet.

    Just the first three.

It's not a competition, it's just taking where you are, and moving upwards and onwards.

To simplify it, I think Shaw just built on what Chris said. He was going more in depth for the OP.

    Squat 315
    Deadlift 335
    Bench 235

So 885lbs so maybe by summer I can reach 1000.

This would be it. I knew what the person I quoted was trying to say, but to a person with no clue, they might think you get three reps of each (9 total) to reach a 1000lb total.

I love how we're using this junk thread and not the legit one.
