Apparently you didn't search much through the threads cause there are some strong *kitten* dudes and ladies around here. Seriously strong. Anyway, it seems you got the welcoming beatdown that was coming so howdy, welcome, be sure to check out this thread cause its freaking awesome and some of the folks are nearly inhuman.

Morning all. Back from vacation and getting back in the swing of things. Battling a cold so energy levels were fairly low this morning. Got tired pretty quick. Cardio- walked 20 minutes @ 3mph, low incline. Strength- Squat 185x10, 7,6,6 Romanian Deadlift 135x10 155x7 3x175x4 Hamstring curl 3x70x10 Leg press 180x10 270x10…

It looked like you had plenty in the tank on those @Iron_Miss_Canada ! Great work! I've never tried a push press, I'll have to rectify that.

You don't really need to do a loading period. It doesn't hurt anything, but its not necessary. That said, it takes roughly a week before your body starts to have it built up enough that it can start making a difference. I don't know if you can exactly "look for" anything. I was able to do more sets & reps, especially of my…

Yeah man, really nice squats! Nice and deep and without a hitch at all. I have to say I love my TK knee sleeves. They keep my knees so nice and toasty and they just feel nice.

I bought the EliteFTS P2 6.5mm belt and it works great for me. They're a great company to buy from. The Inzer stuff looks really nice also. With a double prong you have 2 prongs to wrestle into their wholes. I'm not sure the theory on why they even exist, but I'd suggest a single.

In college my roomie and I did one of those "Build huge biceps!" workouts utterly destroying our arms. About died the next morning getting out of my loft since I couldn't move my arm and in my still sleepy state didn't realize it until I was hitting the floor.
-
@JoRocka I remember Sam mentioning you were running Sheiko. Pretty cool you've been doing it 3 years! I like the visual of oreo workouts. lol You bring up 2 excellent points about this style: Time- If/when I run this again I might split it and do a morning/night session. Bench morning/squat night or something along those…

Nice @nakedraygun! Good luck at your meet! I just found out there's a WUAP meet near me later this month. I put it in my phone to remind me so I can go check it out for a bit.

Yeah, on a cut and training for a Spartan race sounds like a terrible time to try it. I look forward to your chronicling the experience. @JoRocka it seems like a good program to run if you have a break in your current program or you need a reminder that what you're currently doing isn't as awful as you think. lol

Just want to +1 this and I love how respected Greg is around this site. :) Juggernaut Training has some good articles too as does EliteFTS.

You'll bust through it! Light day today. Squat: 135x10 155x10 165x10 Front Squat: 2x135x7 Bench: 135x10 145x10 155x9 Paused Bench: (F' these things lol ) 3x165x2 175x2 Then some pullups, seated cable rows, pulldowns. Monday mostly light again working up to the lower end of heavy for me to prep for Tuesday's max testing.

That sounds absolutely hellacious @McCloud33. lol I vote you go for it. It'll be an adventure. And if it makes you hate life too much, just stop. . But mostly I vote you go for it because there is no way I'm gonna try it. lol I did a set of 165x15 last saturday (roughly 60% 1rm) and that was pretty awful. I got…

That is waaaaay too much snow. lol Glad that a bunch of shoveling was the only real issue!

WOO HOO!! rofl

Thanks! I've sorta eaten like a pig this week too which probably hasn't hurt things. lol

Final full bore day of this. Probably gonna do some light work tomorrow and Monday and Tuesday try for some PRs. Next Friday I leave on vacation for a week and then back to a more normal routine. Squat: 135x10 155x10 185x7 205x5 215x3 225x3 235x2 245x1 255x1 260x1 265x1 270x1 255x2 255x2 Bench: 135x10 155x7 165x5 175x3…

Jelly. @ash_law 270 for 3? I'm happy I get it for 1. lol Great job!
-
Nice work @JoRocka ! Glad recovery/PT is starting to get you some results! I like the music at your gym better than at mine. lol
-
I'd get that built and then they'd find my broken body lying in the backyard shortly after. lol Those folks are amazing. And BigGuy47 has it spot on why climbers are doing so well.

I'm happy they keep my membership rates low and that most of them are terrified of the squat rack. I'm sad that they mostly won't stick to it and wonder why 3 weeks of using the elliptical for 40 minutes 3x a week hasn't helped them meet their often completely unrealistic goals. I'm annoyed by how many of them clearly…
-
Someone was actually using the squat rack this morning so I had to bench first. :| lol It was all good, he was doing some decent front squats so it wasn't being wasted. Bit tired and sore this morning but more for bench than squats. This is my last week of doing this. Testing some maxes next week and then vacation for a…

Happy hump day all. Worked pretty hard yesterday. Sore today. Don't have my sets in front of me, but definitely did less work than yesterday. Cardio-nope Strength- Squats, bench and wide grip cable row. Nutrition- Pretty decent on calories, too low on protein.
-
Yeah, so I might've worked a little hard yesterday. I was asleep before 8:15 and sore as hell today. My shoulders were sore pretty much the entire time benching. lol Squat: 135x10 155x10 185x7 205x5 215x4 225x3 235x2 245x1 255x1 260x1 255x1 255x1 245x2 Bench: 135x10 155x7 165x4 175x3 180x3 185x2 190x1 195x1 200x1 Did 5…
