  • I started walking and eating less in March and im down about 15 pounds. I try to hit 10k steps a day. about 3 weeks ago I started to add 30 min lifting weights 2-3 times a week. That's more for a pleasing shape than weight loss tho.

  • I saw a thread in here once about a podcast for binge eaters. It's called "The Done Binging Podcast". It's free. I believe the woman who runs it was a binge eater for many years and is now a life coach.
  • Where are you outside of the US? You may be able to seek help much cheaper where you are then when you come home. I usually visit doctors when i travel abroad because healthcare in the US is a joke.
  • TIL people steal plates from the gym...
  • I remember when I lived on campus the dining hall had salad bars and usually a healthy entree choice. If you could go on an extreme crash diet I bet you could have the willpower to eat the healthier stuff. Also at my old college the use of the rec facility was bundles into tuition, so if your campus has a rec center you…
  • Yeah, the back is complex and sensitive. Best action is to get checked by the doctor first and see whats going on.
  • Interesting. I'd be curious to hear how the changes work for you. My personal Trainer and my chiropractor (who also worked on Olympic athletes) both told me to stop tucking my butt. But they aren't telling me to exaggerate pushing my butt out either, that's over correcting.
  • Strengthening the muscles in your back and core in general will help improve your posture because the improved muscle strength will help in holding your body more erect,
  • I'd start here second after seeing a doctor but otherwise i agree here. A few weeks ago I realized my squat form was bad and that was the cause of all the pressure and pain i had been experiencing in my lower back. I was tucking under instead of pushing my butt more out.
  • I'm coming at this assuming you are asking our opinions about which one to choose. Based on context clues Id say if you have a severe mental block when it comes to fitness and diet maybe the physiologist would be the best choice to give you the tools you need to break through those barriers. If what you need is instruction…

  • So I played roller derby and skate 2-3 times a week currently for fitness. Ive seen women of all sizes on quads no problem. The big kicker will be what it is made of. The larger ladies in Roller Derby tend to stay away from Nylon plates because they wear down easier and have higher chance of breakage. that being said the…
  • I blast the most calories when I'm roller skating. It's very easy on my joints but a great leg and core workout. I try and skate between 4-8 miles twice a week.
  • Story of my life. I compensate by eating less during the day and keeping filling but not calorie dense snacks in the house.
  • I can only imagine how rank her pee smelled. lol
  • I cant get up to a gallon. I try to drink between 50-80 oz of water a day. It's really hard for me because I just don't really drink during the day, but I can really feel the difference in my body when I don't drink enough. I retain water, I get VERY light headed when I'm working out, my skin gets dry and old looking, my…
  • People are nosy by nature, gotta just let it slide off. Or bestow your knowledge upon her, she may want to jump on your health train and doesn't know how to ask that particular question.
  • I refuse to wake up even a second before i absolutely have to. I am incapable of morning workouts. I pack my gym bag and take it with me to work and change before I leave the office. Putting on my workout clothes almost "forces" me to the gym after work. If I go home first I'm toast, I'll not leave again till the next day.
  • Depends on you. Artificial sugars give me migraines so I cant drink them. I LOVE flavored sparkling water (the kind with no sweeteners) But if you don't have a problem with the artificial sugars than they are fine. 0 calories is better than 200 from a normal coke.
  • When I started Keto my food bill went up but it's evened out since I got a Costco membership and buy all of our meat there. The meat is easily the most expensive part so I buy it in bulk now once a month, portion it all and freeze it. As for my daily meals: Breakfast: Coffee + Heavy whipping Cream + 1/2 scoop Protein…
  • Depends on what your daily workouts look like. If you're trying to strength train every day I may suggest taking a day or two off to let your muscles repair. Even than as others have said, you can take "active Rest" days where you do something fun like hike, mountain climb, play laser tag, go swimming, walk the dog, ect.…
  • I use the Cardio Strength training option. It's not accurate and I dont typically eat those calories back but for me it just functions as my "proof" that I did something today. lol
  • My mom used to make me sit at the table until I ate my veggies. I remember sitting there for hours one night. as an adult tho I'm super grateful she did that, will totally be doing it to my kiddos one day. But for food ideas: Meat Loaf - blitz up mushrooms, onions, and cauliflower and mix it in there! stir fry - with…
  • Bosu ball planks work those stabilizers more.
  • My goal is to claw my way out of this depression, get back on my schedule and drop 15 pounds. That would be a great way to close out 2017.
  • I order tanks almost without abandon at basically any site that yields a fun design. They are typically about the same across the board, but I also like my shirts to fit loose so I always order XL.
  • Given your weight, when you start and really focus on eating at a deficit you will probably lose a decent amount of weight fairly fast. But as the pounds go down, they do start to slow down. Dont let the goal of 200 in a year become the be all end all. Even if you dont hit your goal I think the plan to try and train for a…
  • On this particular weight loss journey (because we all seem to embark on a new one every few years lol) I had a pretty big life event to help me jumpstart back in June. We were going on a 2 week vacation to Japan in June so before we left we made sure to eat all the food in the house/pantry. When we came home (we already…
  • If you can stop at grocery stores and pick up healthy snacks and lunches. Avoid eating fast food for all of your meals! If I'm cutting it close to my daily calorie goals I get salads, wraps and chicken sandwiches. Yesterday I was way under my calorie goal and hangry so I stopped at Churches and got a 3 piece tender meal…
  • I drink 1 cup of coffee a day. I use heavy whipping cream and chocolate protein powder in it as my cream and sugar.
