I forgot to log in yesterday and instead of taking me back to 1 day for my streak, it advanced me 2 days. I saw it change the number upward.

Here's my bra shopping tale for everyone's amusement: Since I've lost weight I have been struggling to find bras with "adequate coverage" so I decided to try Soma last week. The sales woman measured my band size and then with a quick look down at my chest proclaimed that I was a 36G. She brought one for me to try and then…

Honestly it looks like mostly fat but it is hard to tell.
-
Actually what she meant was that a 34c cup is the same cup size as a 36b cup. The band size is still different. So a 34 band might be too lose for you if you normally wear a 32.

I wish our Goodwill prices were that low. Around here Walmart prices can be close to Goodwill prices. In fact a used Faded Glory t-shirt at our Goodwill stores will often be priced higher than it was originally in Walmart. Last week I got jeans on clearance at Walmart for $7, at our Goodwill stores the heavily used jeans…

That's great!!!

I really like what you wrote here. Trying too hard to be perfect has hurt my weight loss efforts in the past. I've actually thought about intentionally not logging in for a day so I don't get too wrapped up in my streak.

I went from a US size 2X down to a 12 in about six months (that was about 30 lbs) so I think it is possible you could do this if the dress isn't too small.

She may not lie, but just remember, she often doesn't tell the whole truth.

I'm using an iPad so I have to resize each page I open and once you've resized a page, it may have to be realigned if you don't scroll straight. A slightly sideways swipe leads to a sort of bouncing page. I know I could turn on the accessibility zoom feature but that means lots of page tapping instead.

I probably won't use these forums much if the font stays so small. It is hard to read on a tablet and I don't want to have to resize each page I open.

Rather than trying to discourage you, it is more likely that they don't really know what to say. They probably want to be polite and make you feel better. It puts them in a awkward position when you say "I'm fat" because there is almost nothing they can say that will seem like the right response to them. So while having a…

Sometimes the best way is to just say no and not offer a lot of explanations. "I'm sorry, I can't" is a reasonable response. Too often we give reasons so the other person won't be upset with us but you really can't control how the other person is going to feel about it.

I weigh every day too. One thing it has taught me is that having an occasional big splurge really doesn't affect my weight.

But if Coke had ever made such a product, like say cola filled donuts, I probably would have been first in line to try it!

I too was drinking a lot of calories. My favorites were Starbuck's frappucinos, Chick Fil A milkshakes and McDonald's Cokes. I drank at least 500 - 1500 calories every day! The first few weeks I stopped drinking those I was hungry and I had to get used to eating more. I wouldn't forbid myself from having these items now,…

Yes provided that I eat enough foods with a lower caloric density that will leave me feeling full. Foods like vegetables, beans, fruit and whole grains also help to balance out my higher calorie favorites.

You're probably a marshmallow addict.

I tend to hold stay for 2 or even 3 weeks and then lose a couple of pounds within a few days. My weight loss chart looks like it has a lot of plateaus because of this pattern.
-
Shock and horror.

Congratulations! Losing 50lbs is great. Don't let slow progress get you discouraged. Btw I've gone from an 18w/20 to a size 12 but like you, sometimes I just don't see the change. My waist is down 6 inches but there are times that I look at my stomach and it still looks the same to me.

I've paid attention to my BMI as a sort of mile marker while I'm losing weight but I wouldn't let it define my ultimate goal. Being in a size 8 is awesome, so don't beat yourself up over other numbers.
-
That's awesome!

Hi, I'm the same height as you and I just revised my goal from 135 to 125 about a week ago. I get where you are coming from with this. From where I started (187) it seemed like getting to 135 would be enough but now I'm realizing that would put me too close to the borderline of being overweight. I did hate seeing that…

There's a lot of truth in this.

I'm sure that works for some people but there are regularly posts on these boards from people saying they've lost 20 lbs or more and their clothes still fit pretty much the same. I know there was a post on here this summer from someone who had lost a lot more weight (I think it was 40+ lbs) who said she was still wearing…
-
That's basically what I have done. I divide mine by season and then by size. It is rewarding to go through my bins and find clothes that fit again. If an item is close to fitting, I'll put it on top of the bins and then try it on again in a couple of weeks.

I'm guessing that you're trying to tackle too much at one time. Make a few small changes that will be sustainable even when you get busy. Allow those changes to become habits and then make some more changes. Build a healthy lifestyle over time.

I'd better not post any pictures of our guinea pigs!

Cat BMI = box mass index?
