  • beyond Why force yourself to drink or take anything? I'm a hardcore coffee drinker who at one time drank at least 24 cups a day and can function with or with out it. It makes no sense to force ourselves to do anything we don't have to and any immediate result wears off. It's like me saying I hate meth and crack but on…
  • Without knowing how long you are to be on this amount of calories and full health history, etc it is hard for anyone to offer you sound advice other than to pursue a second opinion. The simple fact that you are posting the question to a forum says you have conflicting feelings or thoughts so, definitely reach out to…
  • You need to do what is best for you. If he is insecure (as so many women seem to think husbands are) then he needs to deal with his own feelings and I would suggest he read Iron John by Robert Bly as a start to dealing with his own issues. Most men aren't simplistic stereotypes despite how people like to portray us and he…
  • No, it really isn't any more complicated than calories in, calories out.
  • I lost a 100 pounds in a year and have no loose skin either and it doesn't look like you gained more muscle just took off the fat. As to stretch marks and loose skin I would advise any doubter to search an article by Tom Venuto Congrat's on the loss. Being a tall guy with large frame I know how easy we put the weight on.…
  • You have a lot of homemade meals with calorie totals that are suspect to me based on tracking my own calories for years. Are you weighing every single item going into these recipes?
  • Plenty of people on here and in real life eat ice cream every evening and lose weight or maintain healthy weight. Edit: But agree with everyone else as any fad diet is a bad diet for the most part.
  • Is there a Sugar Addicts Anonymous group yet? As someone posted above if you believe you have an addiction than I advise you to seek out a counselor or therapist or even better seek out a psychiatrist to get a formal diagnosis and pointed in the direction of proper treatment. If you believe you have any form of addiction…

  • If your doctor, nutritionist or dietitian ever thought that BMI was the single most important diagnostic tool for measuring health then they were/are imbeciles. BMI is a statistical tool not a diagnostic tool and as has been mentioned above while it may apply to the broad spectrum of people (I would like to know the actual…
  • Clean sugar...chuckles. That's like the idiots who says Stevia is a more natural sugar despite the fact that is just as processed as cane sugar. Are we not at the expiry date of the latest nutrient blame fad yet?
  • That's a huge assumption that is common place about protein. It can blunt your appetite and mostly I try (when my diet is on track) to combine protein with lot's of vegetables. That combination works for me. Why walk away from chocolate? Don't deprive yourself and try to fit it into calories. Plus if your tired and this is…
  • Agree with Wicked. Without knowing your pre-bed routine and from the information you have given it's highly unlikely your exercise is the root of it. If anything exercising usually helps counter stress. Based on the current research I've read disconnecting from technology at least an hour or two before going to bed has…
  • Not a thing. If you eat a lot of meat at once it does have a higher TEF which may be noticeable but digestion doesn't take place a day after eating unless you have digestion problems. It was more likely the nitrates that caused issues not the meat itself.
  • Log it all. People overthink this. When I eat bacon I account for all the fat even though I'm draining it. Trying to micromanage down to the exact minute detail is an easy way to set yourself up for frustration.
  • I can barely stomach them other than as previous people have posted. If that works for you great otherwise if you are eating a fairly balanced diet that includes your micronutrients don't worry about it.
  • What I did before buying 90lb adjustables was tie smaller weights on one dumbbell. It's very limiting both in terms of exercises and ultimately strength gains. If your overall goal isn't strength then increased sets and reps are an inefficient alternative but, an alternative nonetheless. Unrelated to anyone considering…
  • From that study I wouldn't say it indicates can decrease hunger but may decrease hunger. Given the design of it to make the claim that it can decrease hunger is a gross overstatement on your part. To the OP, no you don't need to jog or run but, the health benefits of cardio exercise are well documented. Thankfully there…
  • I want it bad enough just not eat broccoli, brown rice and chicken breast five times a day bad enough.
  • I'm going to go out on a limb not having ready the OP's diary and say the odds of any of those items being in the OP's diet is slim. Kudo's on the randomness though as it made my day.
  • Nor does it accommodate for different frame sizes - small, medium, large. Even at 200 pounds for a 6'3 guy such as myself it gives a BMI of 25 which is overweight. Below 200 I'm underweight. It baffles me how a tool of statistical evaluation has been so widely adopted and accepted as even a remotely accurate diagnostic…
  • I think many people equate eating with pleasure as meaning overeating or over indulging. If a person is truly eating for pleasure then they will be mindful of each bite or sip and savor the flavors. If you scarf down something like a piece of cheesecake in a few minutes that isn't eating for pleasure from my perspective…
  • The only weightloss enemy to a healthy individual with no medical conditions is making excuses and not taking responsibility for your choices plus decisions.
  • Yes and physical activity levels have nothing to do with that? If you look at the dietary intake you will see even over the last decade that fat intake has increased along with carbs and to simply blame carbs while ignoring the other makes little sense. You will also see how activity levels declined over the…
  • Even that article mentions it's not prevalent in rabbits. Nice try. Rabbit is delicious. Having said that as others pointed out check with the game warden or online to see if there are any diseases in the area. If the kill was from a bite and not a broken neck then I would cut that area out. With wild game you have to make…
  • Half dozen eggs and four to six slices of Ancient Grains bread. Yum!!
  • You can walk in this weather and I do. Usually picking the days without squalls such as today. Just need to bundle up. The only suggestion that pops into my mind is if you have a bicycle you can get something to ride it stationary at home for a reasonable price IMO. Edit: Sometimes I just adjust my calories down for the…
  • I would disagree with this and there are certainly studies that show otherwise. If you have high body fat it's possible to build muscle in a deficit and lose the body fat. You may not gain body weight but a person most definitely can gain muscle. As stated above it's painfully slow.
  • Your aunt is telling you that because it's what she tells herself to rationalize things to herself.
