  • This post reminded me of my daughters first visit to the gym with me. I noticed she was very quiet on the way home so I asked and she turned to me with watery eyes and poured her heart with basically the same thing you wrote. I'll tell you what I told her...."I am so very proud of you for stepping out of your comfort zone,…
  • Try looking up silent hiit workouts on youtube. I'm on the 3rd floor and my downstairs neighbor says she never hears me exercising. I've worked up a great sweat and felt awesome and sore the next day!
  • 25-30 minute workout in the morning and after work. Plus I take the stairs at work and walk at lunch.
  • Amazing and inspiring story! Thank you for sharing your journey and I wish you the best in finding the right surgeon for this next phase! :)
  • I've been experiencing the same all my life and recently ran across an article about body types (Ectomorph, Mesomorph and Endomorph). I fall into the endomorph body type...i'm 5'11" tall and have always carried more weight than appears. This body type tends to build muscle fast and that could account for the weight gain…
  • I'm 5'11" and ultimately I'd like to get somewhere in the 185-195 range. I have a large frame so i've never looked like i weigh as much as i do. As the pounds are dropping, i am noticing my clothes fitting better and i'm anxious to hit my first mini goal of getting below 300!
  • Thanks RodaRose, and yes it is! We love good food, but have found we are eating just a well as we were before! :) As stated above we do a mix of fresh and frozen veggies and fruits and whatever meats are on sale for that week. I also watch our sodium as that plays a part with her blood pressure and her eyes. My diary (and…
  • My daughter is T2, diagnosed in June (A1C at 15, BS readings over 400). We tried the reccomended ADA diet but was not working. I then switched us to a paleo/low carb woe and at her appointment on Friday was advised her A1C was at 6.2! I initially cut all whites (flour, sugar, potatoes and rice) and we now use coconut,…
  • I began the low carb lifestyle when my daughter was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic this past June (A1C at 15 and glucose readings over 400). We initially tried to follow the ADA diet but could not get her BS readings under 250! I started to search for an answers and stumbled upon the Paleo (caveman) way of eating, except…
  • I only use it in smoothies to keep my calorie count on track. Will have to give it a try in the yogurt!
  • Welcome and best wishes on your journey!
  • This!!^^ So satisfying, and replaced my love affair with Snickers candy bar! :)

  • I may be the only one who thinks this, but I'm sexy and 45! LOL B) Add me, we can keep each other motivated!
  • I know i look like a complete dork when i'm huffing, puffing and sweating it out! LOL But I simply do not care what other people think. I am goofy by nature and i've come to understand it and embrace it. :) I have huge boobs and i ran for a little along my walk... I RAN! It was epic and the world didn't end, no one pointed…
  • Mine is open to friends so lets be friends! :) Still getting this food thing right and would welcome any constructive advise.
  • Picked this up yesterday at Marshall's for $5.99! Will try it tonight for dinner.
  • This was really simple and for 2 people. Sweet chili glazed baked salmon and balsamic vinegar sautéed green beans.
  • Here is a pic of it Plantlady99.
  • Oatmeal with unsweetened almond milk is my go to breakfast
  • Here is a pic of a typical lunch for me. That is a 2.5oz of chicken of the sea salmon in the pouch mixed with a tsp of mayo, pepper, a pinch of salt and lime juice. I also squeeze the lime over my veggies, it brightens the flavor of everything!
  • I've struggled for over 20 years with this weight! I would love to encourage and be encouraged so please add me in! I've got a 140 pounds to lose!
  • It's been a touchy subject for me! The only person who knows my weight at the moment are you guys (on my profile) and the weight loss captain at work (hr employee so she can't tell anyone). I am 5'11" so it's spread out and I don't look like I weigh over 300 lbs. I should hit my mini goal and be in the 200's by Christmas!
  • breakfast - oatmeal with unrefined coconut oil snack - celery sticks with almond butter or caramel almond sea salt kind bar lunch - pouch of salmon with boiled egg with broccoli, carrots and tomatoes all with a lime squeezed over it snack - almonds/walnuts and string cheese dinner - protein and a veggie and water, water…
  • I over do it with fruits (banana and grapes) so i have to keep it in moderation and pig out on tomatoes, which technically is a fruit! lol i have no problem with all the other veggies! :)
  • Add me! I am on the right track and just need a group of like minded folks to keep me encouraged! LOL
  • oatmeal with unrefined virgin coconut oil or a smoothie with banana, almond milk, peanut butter, and protein powder.
  • I pack almonds, almond butter and celery for snack, or the caramel almond and sea salt kind bars for a snack. For lunch its broccoli, carrots, cherry tomatoes, a boiled egg and a pouch of salmon. i squeeze lime juice over the veggies and salmon and it's really tasty. today i steamed the broccoli for something different.
